LEGO Batman 2 DC Super Heroes Game 3DS

We are fans of all the Lego video games, especially the Lego Batman Games at our house! I do enjoy this game, but it is probably my least favorite of the first three Lego Batman games. It made some nice improvements over the first game, and the added "free world play" aspect was a cool addition, but it's quite a bit darker and a little scarier than the first one and it's complicated without being intuitive. Not necessarily harder in a good, more challenging way, but in a frustrating way where you kind of know you are supposed to be triggering something but can't figure out what. It's hard to get through some of the levels without having to google how to solve it. And I'm an adult.- The most frustrating aspect of the gameplay -which was thankfully solved in Batman 3 - is that the only way to change Batman or Robin suits is to go back to the suit pad and get it. So if you change to a different character to get a certain minikit and then change back into Batman or Robin, you've lost that suit and have to go ALLLLL the way back to where it was, even in free play. Not a problem for all levels, but frustrating for a few of them and certainly for the Free Play aspect in Gotham City. - This game is frustrating to play in two-player mode. The split screen doesn't work that well and it's just hard to see what you're doing most of the time -- sometimes the screen is split even though you're right next to each other which, isn't great.- The Free Play in the city mode is an awesome feature but also frustrating!! It's really difficult to find anything and it would be much better if the game explained how to use the map rather than having to google it-- you can actually use the map to find almost everything you need but it's not intuitive to figure out how to use it that way!Overall, even with it's faults I enjoy playing this game as an adult and my boys (5 and 7) also enjoy playing it-- Another good game to play as a family, as it appeals to different ages. A must-have if you are a Lego-game or Batman fan!

Excellent addition to the LEGO series

I am a huge fan of the LEGO series of games, having collected them all ever since the original LEGO Star Wars game. In a lot of ways, this is the best of them so far. In all possible ways, this is the best Superman game ever made.All of the incremental improvements, such as the moving split screen, are here. From a technical standpoint, that makes this the easiest to play game from the series. The only true problem I had from that standpoint is the camera control. There are a few points where, if playing multiplayer, you have to have each person in just the right spot for it to work. I was worried at first, because the silent aspect worked so well in previous games. But the script and the voice acting was outstanding. They got Clancy Brown to reprise his role as Lex Luthor from the DCAU, which was great, but not the other major voices. But the new voices are still great. The writing is witty and engaging, and well worth the addition.And having all of the other DC universe heroes is an extra treat. I single out how great it is to play with Superman, as I have horrible memories of previous Superman games (especially Superman 64 - ugh.) The interaction between the World's Finest heroes is enough to make a comic book geek happy forever.In all, if you are a fan of the LEGO games, you probably already have this game and love it. If you are a fan of DC, or just like fun, engaging games that the whole family will love, then give this a go. I think you'll be happy you did.

Hours of Fun

OK. I'll start with the one and only bad remark I have about this game. They really missed the mark with the camera on this one. It's very jumpy and erratic in co-op and takes quite a bit of getting used to. They did include a very limited right stick camera control on this game, but it's usually dependent on how far away you are from your partner. The further away you are, the better the individual camera controls are.My son and I have been putting the hours in on this game since we picked it up on Tuesday, and it's a blast. The voice acting adds to the humor in a way that was missing when all that the characters would say were "mmmm", "aaaah", and "tee-hee-hee". Levels seem to be a bit longer than usual which is good. The Gotham City open world is large and contains several side "missions" to collect bad guy characters and bricks, as well as follow ghost studs from story to story similar to Lego Harry Potter. You don't collect character tokens in this game, but get them through story mode and side fights similar to Lego Indiana Jones 2. Graphics are smooth and colorful. Cut-scenes are hilarious and well programmed.If it wasn't for the camera I would have given this game 5 stars. It's not a huge issue, but is a hindrance sometimes. We did find one area where the camera actually caused an enemy to be hidden by one of our characters during a flight sequence, so we were stuck for quite a few minutes while trying to figure out why the game wasn't progressing. Other than that, we have made it up to Story Level 11 and haven't found any bugs or problems so far. However, we haven't done any free-play yet.

Keep V-Sync Off

LEGO Batman The Videogame for Wii may be the less graphically impressive version of all the console releases but it offers exacting the same great game. For a LEGO game, the Wii console's offering does not disappoint. Personally I prefer this game on the Wii because I'm fan of the Wii's remote and nunchuck and also I feel LEGO is more at home on a Nintendo console than on XBox or PlayStation. Keep V-Sync Off to keep the frame rate high though... you might see some screen tearing but I didn't noticed it more than a handful of times throughout my 100% completion run.

I had rented this game a couple of time at the local video store just to see if I liked it. But after seeing that it was only about fifteen dollars from Target, I decided to just buy it. Travelers Tales and LEGO always do a great job on these LEGO games and this is no exception. There is so much to do in LEGO Gotham City and so many thing and people to unlock that this game can easily entertain for days on end. The Wii graphics are not the best but are very acceptable especially for the price. Some people may have a hard time finding their way around Gotham City, I know it took me a little while to figure out the compass. LEGO Batman, wehee!

Honestly, I gots, I gots to rate this one a 10/10 all the way. Case was all smooth and cleaned, disc lookied like it was brand new and touched up, manual looked fresh and everythings. Bought it as a birthday gift for me girlfriend and boi o' boi did she love it. (We're your average LEGO Batman fans why of course.)Now, I-I know y'all fellas tend to gets a lot of hate and all but I gotta say what's not to love. Y'all really knows how to connect with y'alls customers and run everything more so as a welcoming community for all instead of a simple one-stop-shop, something that always brings me bacc. If you liked LEGO Star Wars and LEGO INDY, then LEGO BATMAN is already in your Wii....'nuff said. If you didn't like them...you won't like BATMAN...if you didn't try them, you should. The LEGO games are fun for the whole family, young and old, the animated LEGO movie links to the gaming threads are wild & wicked and worth the purchase on their merits alone. The format for Batman is much like the Lucasfilm game sets, just not directly connected to any particular movies...although (thankfully) the Danny Elfman music (circa 1989) runs throughout the game, the style is generic Batman via LEGO LAND. The villains have teamed up to escape Arkham Asylum and the Dynamic Duo must stop them...each villain has a story arc to unlock, before free play is possible in the related locations...so like the previous installments, replay value is high, you can return to the story setting later as several optional characters including the villians themselves in order to find hidden "trophies" to build in Wayne Manor (part of the Batcave hub, where menus, story progress and unlockables lie). This way the same tales have many variations for players to explore, collecting the coin-like "studs" as currency for upgrades and unlockables. There's roughly about 30 separate levels to play, 15 in the hero chapters and 15 levels i the villain chapters. LEGO BATMAN characters have individual moves, Batman for example can put baddies in a choke hold and throw them. An exciting addition to LEGO combat is the BATARANG, which will lock on targets for distance attacks. Introduced also, are special suits for Batman and Robin, these make certain combinations of characters a necessity for passing stages or solving puzzles...For example, in true comic book fashion,Robin can get a Magnetized-suit to scale metal walls, I can't explain the pleasure that came from watching Robin lumbering and buzzing up surfaces (sound fx here are classic) Other moves are standard for the LEGO games: grappling hooks for platforms and punching and kicking. The character design is great and Gotham looks good...there are lest characters to be unlocked here than in any other LEGO game so far and lest upgrades as well. But as for the characters there are so good choices from the Batman Universe....Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, Two-Face, Poison IVY, Mr. Freeze, Riddler, Killer Croc, Scarecrow, The Mad Hatter, even Bane.Like the heroes, each villain has their own special weapons and moves...I bet you can guess Banes. Another LEGO staple is the mix and match at the hub, where you can customize a character for free play by swapping the pieces around. No major complaints, it just seems smaller than previous efforts, maybe because no direct movie-tie-in was done...like the Trilogy format. I do miss the "character quirks" introduced for LEGO INDY, like the fear of snakes and rats, effecting character behavior. Admittedly it doesn't work well with the superhero genre. Also, since this is a Traveler's Tales project with Warner Bros. and not Lucasfilm, don't expect to find any hidden Star Wars characters this time....sorry.

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes

This is an awesome game it is so much fun to play I love these Lego games a lot, yeah they can get repetitive but the stories are always different and the characters are always different and so are the levels and this is the first Lego game that introduced flying characters and a world you can explore. All the characters a pretty sweet and the missions to get gold bricks and to unlock/purchase new characters are sweet like fighting the villains to unlock them and to get other heroes you have to have so many gold bricks to get them. The game is really fun and enjoyable to play. If you have not played this game then I recommend you do

The Game Wasn't As Nice As I Thought.

When I first retrieved my game, I was overjoyed. I was so overjoyed that I didn't notice I got the Regular version of Injustice instead of the Ultimate Edition as advertised. I brushed that off and decided I'd just buy the DLCs. The DLCs would delete themselves sometimes but I assumed it was the Xbox. Things however started getting a bit worse, because not a month in that I bought a DLC, my main menu began to skip like crazy. I had to restart the game entirely a few times to get it to actually load the battles. In the end, just a few days my game officially died. The entire main menu was Blank White and the game will not load a thing now. And it's truly a shame, because I absolutely loved this game for the time I played it. Works great!

My son is a huge Marvel fan and this particular game stopped working sometime last week he's autistic and is very protective about anyone touching his games and counsels so he didn't tell me. I seen this and thought "Home run". It appears and looks brand new i wouldn't have noticed the difference. I highly recommend!
