I got this set for my 6-year-old son because he is very interested in learning about space. He has built a lot of Lego sets and this one was easy for him. It was a fun build and looks great when displayed. There are lots of things my son loves about this set, like pushing the cars on the monorail system, doing the countdowns and playing with the rover's grappling arm. Overall it's worth the price.

I overall like this set but still it feels like a missed opportunity. A lot of the aspects could have been handled better.1) There is a monorail to get the astronauts next to the rocket, but I don't know how they're supposed to get to the top. Fly maybe? An elevator would make more sense than the monorail, as NASA would probably use a vehicle to get them to the rocket.2) I have no idea how is this rocket supposed to land. Is it just the capsule that should return to the atmosphere? There are no boosters on the capsule, maybe some parachute? Or the whole rocket without the booster? I hope this is not one of those one way missions...3) it would be nice if the cockpit would open and close without having to basically took it apart.4) Booster rocket tops come off ... Shame because the designer went to some pains to reinforce the bricks with various technic pieces in other places

This rocket space set is amazing. Very enjoyable to build with many very clever touches of how parts move and work - I don't want to give the game away. My small boys (and husband!) all love the set and there is so much playability in it. Really worth the money and although it it biggish, 40cm tall or so, it is compact enough to easily display as pieces can be moved around easily. The rocket itself is incredible and comes easily apart, as do the boosters. I would highly recommend this set for £89.99. We have tons of Lego sets here and this one is really worth the money and is a lot of fun.

As someone who recently returned to LEGO (quarantining gets boring), I started by purchasing the larger, more advanced modular sets. After exhausting those sets, I looked for other ways to expand my new city. I found the LEGO City Space line of products and started with this set. It did not disappoint. Although the build is relatively easy, it is fun and rewarding. The designers of this set did an outstanding job thinking through the details that LEGO fans appreciate. The launch control center in particular, made me smile when I saw the clever use of transparent stickers. I usually loathe stickers in LEGO sets, but their unique use here was clever and functional. Highly recommended!!
Pretty straight forward build with terrific instructions. It however does not meet my expectations, and truly is a bit of a letdown as far as the structural integrity of the build. I am let down by the fact that when one lifts the rocket off the pad, the arms that fall to the side tend to fall off completely.Perhaps the holding power of the bricks is too small for the length of the arm. Levers, it's a heck of a moment being generated at the bottom of those arms.Anyway, lots of enjoyment, just not to the level I've come to expect from Lego.
It's a great looking set, and fun build. Would recommend to anyone. My son is into rockets, and loved building it together with me, and playing most of all with the rocket and launch pad. However, the noses of the boosters (6252260) really come off way too easily. A kid really can't play with the set without constantly losing them. I mean multiple times per minute. And forget about taking off the boosters or attaching them without those noses coming off as well.It would have been so easy to allow these pieces to connect to an axle piece from the inside for absolutely essential extra build integrity. Our set was also missing a piece (6210385) but one can never really be sure if it wasn't lost during the build.
Well if you are out there struggling with home schooling or just need to get a quiet day to yourself well look no further than the LEGO City Space Port. Admittedly it's eye expensive but if your child is anything like mine they seem to have to ability to save money like a squirrel with a family of 18 saving nuts for winter, the trick is getting them to part with their own money. Which I'm please to say this set did, after just watching the video of the "family" (there's no way that woman has had a child and look that stress free) just 47 times he decided to part with his own cash (saved from Christmas and Birthday plus some money for chores that make Richard Branson's tax returns look reasonable). It came when it said it would and was heralded into the house like to second coming and off he went and was no bother for the next 7 hours as he constructed and played with this brilliant set. it has some great features like to control room and track, plus the rocket is a good size and has some neat features too. If you can afford to buy a big lego set then this seems like pretty good value against the other ones in this price range.
Myself and 4 year old son love this set. I built it whilst he watched and helped out when he could. The space center is very clever and it looks fantastic when it interacts with your phone.I also love the carts that take the astronauts to the shuttle, and my son loves pushing the carts down it.The shuttle itself is a fun build, and it looks cool when it breaks away from the platform. An additional feature is it got my son talking about space and the moon, and we subsequently watched various children's space videos, and he was asking about the suits and the helmets and space rocks.we both really enjoy it
I really liked this set. I have been a LEGO and NASA fan all my life I thought this set brought so much to the table. I love the launch control center play features. My five year old and I counted down the launch over and over again. The only complaint I had was that the rocket is hard to separate apart, but I understand that with the pieces that make it hard to come apart the rocket would be too flimsy. The track to the launch pad is awesome, and I can't get enough of the arms retracting automatically off the rocket during lift off. So Cool. Awesome set.
Detailed set which was nice to build. Challenging at the right level for a 6 year old. Described by my son as very creative. However, the only criticism which has been made by others, is the white domed caps for the booster rockets do not stay on at all which is frustrating. If they did fit, then this set would have scored full marks!! It would be good if Lego could review these booster rocket caps.
