They are not accepting the problem reported but instead blaming the customers for lacking practice. No matter what practice you do, this chopper will never ever fly since it does not have back rotor. It is too heavy to lift itself in the first place but even if you pull too hard and remove the lego character to make it lighter, it will spin uncontrolled way. There is a reason real choppers have a rear rotor. The movie Lego displays is bogus. They have cuts so that they do not show how the chopper does not work. As with the Fire helicopter, the police helicopter does not fly. A child can't pull the cord hard enough to get it in the air and when it is in the air it doesn't fly, just spins out of control and falls, Very very poor build. My son loves lego police and loves the trucks... but the helicopters in the 2020 set are TERRIBLE how they got through quality control is beyond me.My son just plays with the truck and mini figs. So if you want a new truck go for it, if you want an interactive flying helicopter... don't bother.

My 5-year-old son eagerly anticipated this set. He waited days for the post office to deliver it. He told everyone about it.It finally came, and while he had fun and was able to build it independently, no one in our house could get it to fly the way the video and ads demonstrated. I have recently come back into lego via my 7-year-old son who loves building the generally excellent sets that are available these days. This is the first set of more than 20 that I feel compelled to write a review on. This set is so far from the original experience and quality that I have come to expect from Lego. The helicopter is nothing more than a cheap gimmick that at best, floats to the ground, despite what the advertising says. Straight out of the box it has a plastic, non-Lego, "straight to the bin" feel to it which seems destined to break very soon. My son enjoyed making it, but for $70, I feel it is also overpriced.
My 4 year old son recently got this for christmas. The build was fun, albeit a bit long for his attention span. Overall the set is fun to play with: big truck that can carry a helicopter, some bad guys who can be locked up and broken out again.The only downside is the one mentioned on the other reviews as well: the helicopter doesn't easily fly. I know there should be a video explaining this (although the QR code goes to https://www.lego.com/nl-be/themes/city/police/helicopter where I can't find a video), but if a kid needs to watch a video before being able to play with a toy, there's something wrong with the toy.This launch mechanism needs a serious rethink. It was a nice try, but I feel that not enough play-testing was involved in its design.
This is a great set throughout all of my experience. In the box you will find: 4 large bags, 3 instruction manuals, a few large parts and a sticker sheet. Bag 1 holds the police motorcycle, the helicopter, ripcord and the robbers car which I was pleasantly surprised with because its wheels are extremely rare. It also has room for the 2 minifigures which I will talk about later, a clip for the money and a chain to break minifigures out of the jail cell. Bags 2 and 3 include the cab which is packed with detail, personally my favourite part is the computer system behind the right door. Bag 4 includes the trailer which is absolutely amazing because the ripcord fits perfectly on it along with the helicopter which actually does fly. I have to echo the other review, the helicopter is simply non-functional. It spins out of control and doesn’t really fly.Very disappointing as the truck and trailer are all very nice. I simply cant believe LEGO didn’t test these with actual children before going to market.Please conduct better quality and functional testing before releasing.
Like others have said, the helicopter is not functional. You have to pull the cord very hard. If the helicopter lifts off, it spins out of control and falls to the ground. If it goes up it spins uncontrollably in the air and likely hits something or someone. In NO way does it work as represented in the promotional video - there is NO fine control at all! Because it is one big plastic piece there in no other purpose for the helicopter than collecting dust. The truck is ok at best, not the most elegant design but ok. Even for £20 this set would be average at best. We love Lego, and have many great sets. But this is really exceptionally bad. LEGO, you can do better!

The only possitive was the traditional LEGO parts, figures, and builds, but NOT for this priece.Even though the set is rated for 5+ ages, the main attraction of the set (its flying pre-molded helicopter assembly) is useless, and does not work as expected as a child toy.It requires a very fast and hard pulling of the trigger to merely give the propellers enough speed for a insignificant jump up of the craft. A child would not be able to pull that hard to generate the speed to even do that. Forget about flying it.It is so un-LEGO like to make such a addition of a pre-molded gimmick to a LEGO set when a brick built non-flying LEGO helicopter would have been far far more welcoming and fun inclusion ... MoreI love LEGO and seeing sets like this makes me very disappointed. Fortunately, the helicopter build is really sturdy so it did not break apart - even though I kept trying to fly it.The vehicles themselves are really fun builds and will make a great addition to my Lego City when I finally get around to setting aside space for one.
