Great model - not really a toy for a child to play with! Typical Lego- the parts that move always seem the most flimsy! Looks great but wheels collapse, bay doors are hard to close, ray gun inside falls apart and back part falls off easily! Built it today with a 5 year old - it will need some adult supervision- some parts a little complicated but took 2-1/2 hours with adult help!

This LEGO kit was a Christmas present for my son. I was happy to find it sold through Rainbow Resource since I needed to buy a textbook anyway and this helped me get free shipping. My son is thrilled with the kit, which was bigger than I expected it to be. Shipping was fast and without issue!

Quite a good pack as you can use the same pieces to build 3 different space crafts: a space shuttle, a rocket and a lunar lander. Each of the builds, the shuttle, lander, and rocket, allows you to enjoy a different aspect of the space program, and each build has playable functions. For the shuttle, the wheels retract, the ailerons/ flaps can move, the cargo bay doors can open, and inside, there's a canadarm that can lift the satellite, stowed aboard, into orbit. The minifigure includes both the space helmet assembly and a hairpiece, which is appreciated, for when the helmet is removed.
This is a great value for a lego set. You get a lot of really nice pieces to build with, and the shuttle model is fantastic. It's quite detailed for this price-point. It has retractable landing gear, functioning cargo bay doors, a robotic arm, and proper OMS pods. Yes, there's a better lego shuttle out there, but of course it's far more expensive, and not really intended for a kid who wants to play with it. This one is.The fact that you can also build a "Saturn V" (this model isn't as good, but still, it's a plus) and a liner module of sorts is just icing on the cake. I highly recommend this set, and may even pick up a second one at some point so my rocket-obsessed kid can make multiple models at once.
It’s great. I have bought 3 of these. To make permanent models for my classroom. To make them more durable we have glued them. My students love them.
My daughter is obsessed with space so this was already right up her street. Imagine her excitement when she opened it and realised it included a female astronaut. With some help from dad they assembled it in the space of a few hours and many many hours have since been spent whizzing off on space adventures. It withstands most play and if a part does fall off it is easy to fix. She has really enjoyed switching it between the 3 different space toys, particularly enjoying the rocket the most. It has really helped to engage her love of space in an educational way.
When the box arrived, my 8 year old boy jumped for joy. He delved straight in to sort out the pieces. He did require some help in getting started, but he quickly picked up the build and after a couple of hours, the spaceship was built. It was an amazing creation, the detail was excellent and my boy was so proud of what he had built, it went straight onto the shelf in his room to show it off. We haven't yet tried the other models as a result but I am sure there are plenty of hours of fun to be had building the other models. Overall very pleased with the product!
I got this for my 8 year old nephew he was so excited to build it. We built the rocket first and glad to say we got there in the end. This kit is really good value for money as it gives you three options to build. My nephew could not believe that I played with Lego as a child and children are still playing with Lego. It is a toy that has stood the test of time and still inspires children and adults imagination. One tip I would give is try and build this on a clear table so you can see all the Lego pieces. This will certainly keep us occupied during the summer holidays.
My only issue with this set is I wish lego designed the build process more organized. When my 8 year old daughter did the option of the shuttle she loved being able to do it on her own. The part bags were labeled based on what sections of shuttle you were building making it easier for her. Even though you can design other sets she didn’t want to take shuttle apart to design the rocket so I ordered the same 3 in 1 again so she can build the rocket but unlike the space shuttle you have to open all 3 bags of parts at once and scattered them on table to find the smallest pieces taking a chance of possibly losing pieces. I feel each section of the build should have a dedicated parts bag.
