Cute but flimsy

I saw this set reduced and thought it was cute. I like Up and decided it would be a nice display piece. Most of it was simple to build, as expected, considering I'm an adult and have built 18+ Lego. The roof, however, was not so easy. The plates have to be attached to parts which clip onto other bricks and allow the roof pieces to pivot into place. Ths seems a good idea, but these parts do not attach at all well to the plates. The plates are also not held together very well and it doesn't take much movement of the model for the roof to fall off and fall apart. When I was a child, lego bricks were annoying as they were so difficult to pull apart. with this set, lego seems to have solved that issue - a small nudge and they just fall apart. I managed to get it together but then decided to add some lighting. I basically ended up rebuilding the whole model as it kept collapsing. I'm glad I'm not a child who may actually want to play with the house. Just moving it risks recreating an earthquake scene. I'm glad I didn't pay full price for the house. It has some lovely touches, but does lacK detail and is rather small for the price. I'm pleased this is not my first Lego build, or it may have been my last. I love how it looks on display, but I want my hobbies to be relaxing not stressful. Fortunately, this was just a little addition to my collection. I'm continuing to build my Hogwarts Express Collectors' Edition tomorrow, which is much more sturdy and detailed.

Let me start this off with I LOVEEE legos I have the orchid plant, the small cactus’s, all the flower legos, London bridge, the postcard. So I’ve build my far share of legos but this Lego set actually sent me into rage…. None of the pieces stay they all fall out some how, the structure is horrible it never stays it’s just not a practical piece, when I try to continue to build things keep falling…. My boyfriend who builds the more complicated techno (car ones) even thought it was rage inducing. This was just such a flop because I loved it and bought it because I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Just not stable practical or anything you barely move it and something falls off. 3/10 to be honest.

I purchased 2 of these from the store. One was fine, the other was damaged leading to messed up stickers and a ripped inner bag. As I don't collect the boxes, all the pieces were there, and I hid the inside of the build it didn't matter. As a stand alone the build is rather small. It does have some amazing details though. I decided to make the "upgraded" Up! house and it was totally worth it. In my picture you will see the balloons and a bit of roof are not done. That is because I am waiting on the additional 5 pieces needed for yhe modification. You are also seeing the build backwards in this photo. If you want to do similar you just need thise extra pieces and to build the entire set backwards. I highly recommend this set as is and beefed up to any child, kid at ... MoreI purchased 2 of these from the store. Good concept, do it without minifigs next time
1 October 2024

I like the concept of this set and the build is sturdy. However, the minifigs don’t look like the characters they`re meant to be representing. The characters are supposed to have human proportions but minifigs have large bulbous heads with no necks. This is not accurate. Since the minifigs don’t look like the characters and the décor requires the characters to depict what it’s trying to depict, the whole design falls apart aesthetically.I feel like the better way to do this is without the minifigs and just use the specialized molds like with the dog figurine. I`m not trying to hate on Disney, I just want to be real about what`s holding the set back.

Looks can be deceiving
3 January 2024

This set though it looks beautiful doesn't have enough connection points to stay together. All of the cute details fall out when you attempt to build. The roof does not stay on and that knocks the yellow section out. Then all the green windows fall out too. There are nowhere near enough lego dots to make this a stable piece. We love legos, but this set is a flop for any kind of playing possibility. We have many disney sets that we play with, but this one is going to require us to figure out how to rebuild it with different pieces so it can handle moving from the shelf to a table without rebuilding. For the price, I would choose a different set if you are gifting to kids that like to gently play with their sets.

UP Lego House
12 May 2024

This was a fun build that I completed with my girlfriend. We both love the "UP" film, so this was a must-buy. It took about 2 and a half hours to complete. There is tremendous detail inside of the house (photos, the adventure book, paradise falls jar, the lamp, his chair etc). The only things we found to be missing were- Kevin (not included in set), the mailbox (missing sticker to decorate like in film), and Ellie's chair (not enough room in interior of house). The house could have been a little larger in order to make the interior big enough to fit Ellie's chair, and not including a sticker or just having the mailbox decorated properly was a disappointment. Overall it was an exceptional build and provided a quality evening with my girlfriend, who also loves this ... MoreThis was a fun build that I completed with my girlfriend. UP UP and Away

I have two granddaughters that I love to play / Build Lego kits with. They are still very young, but love to play and make up stories. This Kit provides a lot of playability for them. The open back to the house lets use move the Mini Figures in and out of the House. This and the Snow White sets are our favorites at my house. We can watch the Disney movie and them play with the kits. My Granddaughters are to young to build these kits, but that does not stop us from having hours of fun playing with them. I am hoping that Lego will create a Jungle Book kit.

Where is Kevin?! Sad to have no Kevin…
3 July 2023

Long time Lego Fan, still am. Newbie to getting into serious sets and collecting. Got this as a first “expensive” to spoil myself and my daughters.Overall, I do wish the balloons were bigger in proportion to the house so that it better explains the physics for my daughters. However, what really made me disappointed was that 1. Some parts do easily fall off, when you play with it, gently and perhaps more importantly, 2, I wish Kevin was included! Charge $5-10 more, if you need to, as it is already not an inexpensive set, but the movie really made Kevin an integral element to the story. Sad there is no Kevin. I wouldn’t even dream of asking for Kevin’s three baby chics…
