This set is basically the expansion pack for the lions knights castle, which can be seen as good or bad thing. On the shelf there's no denying it looks awesome next to the castle. The village could have been much more exciting with another faction, because there simply aren't enough minifigures to fill up the large space this set needs to occupy. Everything feels a bit...safe here as well. We have already seen a shield painter/blacksmith in the viking village! Mason? Farmer? Musician? Cobbler? Something more interesting really would have gone a long way here. I like the more restrained building choices, however some parts(particularly some roofs) are a bit too simple in my opinion. The interiors are stunning and very usable. SO I had a lengthy review all typed out but had to shorten it, this is my message to LEGO about its creation. Which I must say the Lions knight castle got me to buy lego again after 25 years, in balanced terms of size, beauty, fun for all ages and sexes, mix of town and military etc... is the best set they have ever made and I could not miss out. The only down side is some of the lack of context without many complimentary sets to go with it. So thankfully we got that perfect compliment in the town square. I would give it a perfect score but for a few things.... namely the use of stickers in an ICON set, just should not be. Castle is the legacy that built the brand and should be chock full of prints (like they are doing for other sub themes) and accessories. Castle is the legacy that built the brand and should be chock full of prints (like they are doing for other sub themes) and accessories. If you are going to make these high price point set then they really should be so full of life that nothing more could be wanted. While the build is impressive and so are the minis that are there, it still feels like it is missing something... such as the parents to the cheese maker, or some more animals, a horse for the tax collector, a well or statue, jester booth, another market stall etc... What I have here is a great start but not quite feeling like a town square yet. If you are not going to do that then could have also broken this down into 3 sets, one for the farm complex, and 2 more for the broken axes inn and guarded tower as separate complete builds. This would allow each to include more accessories and details, and with a combined price that would overall cost more to the consumer but at smaller intervals. Unfortunately because you are not going all out on castle (yet) most of my budget is being spent on 3rd party pieces to subsidize my own mocs and get the details like forest animals that are needed to bring these builds to life. This is not good for me the consumer nor you the producer that would surely not want to miss out on sales. If you are considering getting this or the lions knight castle then as long as budget can accommodate I would not hesitate other than wait for good GWP's. (they are beautiful fun, and perfect lego theme) Which BTW lego I am also not a fan of this marketing stratedgy as this would have been a day one purchase but now I am trained to wait for relevant GWP but we really have no idea what we are waiting for and that just soils the excitement. Things like the parts packs are good but not the desirable set like objects that seem to have off release timing that does not reward the consumer but caters to the reseller. And I was missing 5 pieces out of one bag! So while this is a home run hit it kind of is also an average attempt that could have been so much better. I hope to see more, whats next? Thank you.

This is a pretty good set visually to add to Lion's Knight. But I'm a fan of the Medieval Blacksmith set for its quality and completeness. I would rather these buildings were split up into sets and had more completeness, whimsy and lore. Attend a decent renaissance fair and you'll see some ideas. Here are a few ideas that I'd like to see as more completed sets. A medieval farm, a medieval house (maybe two in a set), cheese maker and shop, hearth and bread shop, a shipbuilder and dock, a stable with adjoining jousting area, a painter and early science building, a fairgrounds area, a tavern, an inn, an abbey, etc. There's plenty of king arthur, robin hood, fairy tales and even disney-allusion type stuff from the era to throw some lore and whimsy in. Great addition for castle lovers!
4 April 2024

I personally love this set. I picked up the Lion Knight castle a few years back and this was a welcomed extension of that set. Favorite part of set - new Wolfpack mini figure! Also loved the Bat Lord tie in with the poster. Couple of nice peasant mini figure pieces in the set. The tax collector is a great fig! Least favorite part is the lack of animals in the set. Love having a new goat, but that’s a lot of cheese for that one goat to produce. lol! Please keep up the castle theme! It’s way better than the big name sets in my opinion (Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc.). I’m almost a little afraid of how much money I’ll spend if there is a full blown castle resurgence…

Oddly disappointing

This is the first Lego set that’s taken me weeks to build - not because of the complexity but because it’s just not terribly fun. The building techniques don’t feel particularly fun, unlike similar builds like the Viking village or village Blacksmith. Many of the more delicate pieces like the loom can’t be moved or played with because the construction makes them so flimsy. Moving anything around inside the buildings causes three other things to break. Then there’s all the unconnected pieces, so if you have to move this expect pieces to go everywhere. Finally, I didn’t realize until bag 23 that I was missing a piece which belonged to that bag… which was supposed to be located in bag number 12. This is just baffling user experience. The cherry on the frustration sundae was attempting to submit a missing piece report, finding out that Lego is currently out of that piece, and then being unable to submit the form to receive the piece when it restocks due to constant error messages. Too many frustrations for a $200 toy.

Refining the castle scene

This was another model that when I saw the leaks, I hoped Lego would make it as Castle has been my favourite theme since I was a kid and the Lion Knight’s Castle needed something to accompany it.Like the Lion Knight’s Castle, Lego did not disappoint. It has fantastic new body prints for the minifigures, thoughtful introduction of medieval trades, and I love the homage paid to set 6067 from the 1980s. Being able to open the buildings to expand or change their appearance is genius.I have a few quibbles, stickers, I wish the Tavern area was larger, the tree looks like it belongs in Africa rather than Europe. But this is me being picky as Lego have provided an amazing addition to those who want to have a medieval scene on display. This was a fun set to put together. I'll start with the negative. My biggest gripe, as always for me, is STICKERS. I don't really need to elaborate any more on that issue. Another issue I have with this set, is the first instruction booklet came and a bunch of bent/creased pages that could have only happened when the booklet was packaged (see photo). I'm a collector and I have high expectations from Lego when purchasing their product. The last problem I have with this set, is I was mis-shipped 2 small pieces. Step 174 for the Cheese makers shop shows I need 4 of item 4521921, but I only had 2 of those and was mis-shipped 2 of a 6253436, which is close, but not right. They work, and are not seen when the roof is on, so I'm not going to worry about it. I've had this ... MoreThis was a fun set to put together. I'll start with the negative. I've had this happen once or twice before and Lego is always really good about making it right, so they get a pass on this :)The good stuff? Everything else. Fun build. There was one step (I can't remember what it was) that had me laughing out loud and saying "very clever, Lego". This will go great with my Lion Knights Castle set as well as the black smith shop (which is way out of scale). I truly hope that Lego continues to pump out castle theme sets as those have always been my favorites since I was a kid and bought the yellow castle.

This set is - without doubt the best building experienceI have ever done. The goat is in an excellent design, with no faults. The piece count per price is amazing! The tax collector is great, the best fig I have ever seen! And the wolf pack is a nice touch. The first section is a detailed many style hinged building, with lots of amazing interiors and references - such as the tapestry. And the second building is, again amazing, the shield makers side with the watch tower is a great reminder of guarded inn! And the inn itself is - the best interior I have ever seen!Cannot wait to combine with the lion knights castle and other sets!

Timothy's review of LEGO® ICONS Medieval Town Square History Set for Adults 10332
13 September 2024

The LEGO® ICONS Medieval Town Square (10332) was a fantastic addition to my growing collection of LEGO’s revived Castle series. It really captures that immersive experience that was a key part of building the old sets, and adds lots of lovely details and hidden compartments. One of the best things for me, and I hope other fans of LEGO’s classic castle sets, is the return of the Wolfpack faction. I take this as a signal that LEGO is committed to further expanding/re-exploring the Castle series, with an eye on aligning it with other great sets like those from the Lord of the Rings to build up some truly epic historical and medieval scenes. shipping was not awsome.

i paid extra for better shipping when i ordered this set, and got a free promotinal product. i did receive everything, but the shipping box with my medieval town square arrived damp and crushed. when i opended the shipping box, the lego box was crushed, and the side flap unsecured, so the lego bags could fall out. disheartened, i returned the set i exitedly ordered, and the promotinal freebie, because the box had to have been shipped unsealed. i would never buy a crushed, water-damaged, and already opened lego set on a shelf at walmart or target, so when i pay full price and pay for shipping, on lego.com, i won't even touch it. I expect better from lego. you needed a bigger and thicker shipping box, more padding, and a water tight plastic wrapping. i've seen first ... Morei paid extra for better shipping when i ordered this set, and got a free promotinal product. i did receive everything, but the shipping box with my medieval town square arrived damp and crushed. when i opended the shipping box, the lego box was crushed, and the side flap unsecured, so the lego bags could fall out. disheartened, i returned the set i exitedly ordered, and the promotinal freebie, because the box had to have been shipped unsealed. i would never buy a crushed, water-damaged, and already opened lego set on a shelf at walmart or target, so when i pay full price and pay for shipping, on lego.com, i won't even touch it.
