All-in all there are no new or unique techniques that I found interesting while building the car.How fun was it to build?Judging a LEGO set that has under 300 pieces, that takes roughly 20-30 minutes to complete is difficult to have fun with. Feels like the build is over just as you got started. The highlight of the build, and the only place where I got a thrill out of, was while making the headlight lamps that look very true to real life 911 lights. Can I play with it?Very much so! As LEGO has been making car since roughly 1961, making car sets is definitely in their "wheelhouse"Bang for your buck:At around $15 it is near impossible to say that this set is overpriced or not good value for the price your paying. It also makes a great gift!

The car was an amazing build and looked wonderful but looked too large next to a figure. Using a couple extra pieces I was able to tear out a lot of the guts and shorten the build by a full 3 studs! It looks a lot sportier now next to other mini-fig scaled vehicles and feels more accurate even to the actual car.My friend came to visit and rented a white 911 for us just to have a good time. The experience prompted the purchase of this set less than a week later.I left the spoiler off, left the stickers off, shortened the wheelbase by 2, and brought in the front bumper. I used a 2x10 grey plate to tie the build together in place of the strange "step" pieces they included (see in photo).

A few things are "off" about this set. First, I'll start with the hood of the car. We should have gotten 2 of the #33909 pieces instead of regular white 2x2 plates. There are too many studs on the hood and it doesn't look good - it looks very very unfinished, especially for the piece count. Second, the back window stickers are TOO LARGE - EVEN FOR ADULTS. They are difficult to line up properly and we're left with this white line down the middle of what should be a window. Third, the overall look of this car is deceiving in the pictures. It looks to be very round in shape but it actually comes off as very long. The distance from the front and back wheels are "off" for this car, as Porsche 911s are zippy and not at all like straight-line drivers like the Camaro (a ... MoreA few things are "off" about this set. This could have been disguised by giving us a rounder windshield maybe, not one that is so rectangular. Fourth, the cones/pylons. Why include only 3, why not 4? Why include them at all (a 2-piece build)? A waste of pieces if you ask me. Also, the inclusion of a helmet should warrant an actual racing suit because no racer drives in a bothersome tight leather jacket. On a positive note, I enjoyed building this without the usual boring chassis.

For me this is the classic Porsche shape and getting this kit was a no-brainer. Just something about those headlights that does it for me.The build itself was interesting and used some techniques I had not come across with other car builds I've done. Admittedly, it could just be I haven't been paying attention properly before. I really enjoyed building this and liked that the internal parts are anything other than white so figuring out where you are on the "map" was relatively simple.Seats just one minifigure which comes in the kit. I do like that the spanner that come for your minifigure makes a handy tool for removing the wheels. Not just decorative but functional - especially as my minifigures always sit inside my cars for display.Number Of Pieces: ... MoreFor me this is the classic Porsche shape and getting this kit was a no-brainer. A retro 911 is a thing of beauty. This little Lego version of a retro 911 is a thing of magnificence! While a bit fiddly and fragile due to the nature of its components (staring at you, rear wing!), this scaled-down model stays true to the design of the original car in innovative ways. Said fragile rear wing is nevertheless a brilliant work! The front end is very similar to the real car, the sides less so, but the rear is where the magic happens! Exhaust pipe, wing, barlight and bumper are a frank success!
Great little porsche. Was really happy Lego released this car by itself as a stand alone set and in a different color, was not feeling that green color in the 75888 set . Out of all the speed champion cars this has to be my favorite one, the Lego elements comes pretty close in producing the look of the 911. I modified mine into a 1982 version with the bottom front bumper splitter, dual exhaust and gave it a staggered look (wide wheels in back, normal size wheels in front), i thought the front wheels were too wide and the designer should have used the normal size wheels all around to give it a stock look. I also felt the wing was a little big so i made it smaller and the red tail lights sat too high so i just flipped the red and white elements around so the lights ... MoreGreat little porsche. Great set of an iconic Porsche. Nice to see a classic again in this series. Building experience is good, loved that the car during the build changed from just a car to a Porsche just by adding the iconic headlights. Just great details on the car, with the whaletail, the deepdish wheels, the period correct tinted windscreen. Great value for money and nice playability. As a car geek, it would have been nice if euro style bumpers were included in the set. So if you are a lego fan and/or car enthusiast, you got to have one of these sets.
After building a few expert level creator sets I thought id give this one a quick go and was not disappointed. I still find these small car sets so much fun to build. Although simple, the details are still impressive with strong supports behind all the aesthetics. I hope there are some more classics that we see on the road to build in the future. The only negative and this sometimes applies to other builds, clear plastic such as windows, windshields etc arrive scratched and don't look nice when completed. To have the windshield at least on its own would solve this.
This car set is absolutely amazing and a great experience building. I really enjoyed some the building techniques which are quite different from the new 2020 speed champions model that has the new chassis. I wouldn't recommend using the stickers (there aren't many) this car looks so elegant without them. It's an eye catcher. Great solid build overall and some interesting lego peices included in the set. I have used the spare piece to have 2 exhaust rather than one as I think it looks much better with 2 but that's my personal customisation. This is one of the best speed champions and I can't wait till lego to produce some different colours.
This set spells D-I-S-S-A-P-O-I-N-T-M-E-N-T. There is really only one big and one small pro about it: there is a good imitation of a seat in the cabin, and when you drive it into a wall at high speed the windshield falls off and the minifigure is ejected 6 inches into the air. I never get tired of slamming my 911 into walls. Other than that, this set is pretty awful. It is covered in uncovered studs and pieces that make the bodywork look careless. The wheels are my biggest compliant: They are connected to the body with 8 stud long Technic axles, so the model cannot turn. The wheels themselves are even worse because The rims stick out way, way too far and the wheels are not spoked like the real cars wheels. We are in need of standard Speed Champions wheels here. The spoiler is too fat and the interior rear slope of the cabin is bumpy and crude, also.I could go on much longer listing cons of this set, but to make this review reasonable I will not. Instead, I will stop typing and shut up in just a few seconds. If you care about good looking or realistic Speed Champions sets, do not buy this set but buy the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Race Car or the Nissan GT-R NISMO. If you are a fan of ejector seats, this set and the Creator Expert James Bond Aston Martin DB5 are for you.
