I just started building the Speed Champion set. I love the car. But when I finally finished building it I couldn’t get the figure to fit (with helmet on) in the car and still manage to put the window shield on. I still loved building this. Looking forward to getting other people sets to build to go along with this car

My 12-year-old nephew marveled to his mom, "How did they know I wanted Lego cars so I can make a racing movie?" Score one for the aunt in the present-picking department. I had no idea about what he was hoping to do. I did know that boys of a certain age, too young to drive themselves, often like model car kits. And I knew my nephew really likes Legos.

I am a huge IMSA fan but I have been hesitant to buy the Speed Champions sets because they look boxy compared to the prototypes. This therefore is my first one. I think the wheel base should be 6 studs wide instead of 4; that would really help make the Lego model wider and sleeker, giving it the proper stance. Also the nose could be 1 stud longer in front of the axle. Otherwise I really enjoyed the building techniques, indicative of most modern sets, especially making the 3-D details of the ground effects and the air intakes behind the driver door.Nielson and Balzan were such an incredible driving team for Scuderia Corsa the past two years, and definitely the authentic 2016-17 livery stickers and the minifigure of Christina Nielson are what sold me on getting this ... This Lego Model is excellent for children ages 7 - 14 and their parents, grandparents, etc who admire Ferrari sports cars. For people whose life is more mini-van or SUV oriented, this bright red Ferrari is a wonderful foundation for a daydream play date for kids ages 7 - 99+. Children 4 -6 will likely need a bit of assistance to build the model, but that's part of the fun for us older folks.
These are superbly detailed and accurate for the very low price and get loads of play value from them. I appreciate the detail, my kids love to play with them. And bonus points to Lego for putting in a female racing driver. That shouldn't be so exciting but given other toy lines lack of representation in anything but stereotyped times, it really is. The Speed series is rapidly becoming a favourite.
This Ferrari Lego SEt is super value formoney for around £13 in our local supermarket.Being a Visually Impaired person, I find downloading the Instruction manual easy to do and allows me to enlarge the images on my desktop scren. The end product once completed looks every bit as good as it does on the box. I have also bought others on the New Lego Speed Series, and they are just as realitively easy to build as well.
Liked this model. I have plenty of Ferrari's but I wanted this one in particular. A very similar car comes with another classic car in a garage set but it's very expensive so I am glad they have this car separately. It has some cool building techniques that are sure to get the creative juices flowing.
Docked because my girls prefer the minifig to wear the blond hair while driving instead of helmet, but roof doesn’t close. Closes fine with boy hair or helmet. I can appreciate the detail of the rear wing but it seems to be fragile during play. Has held up better than the ZR1 Camero (might as well remove the front splitter for play) and the 74 Porsche (can’t keep front bumper on and rear wing could use reinforcements) but when the Ferrari wing goes it explodes everywhere.
This Lego Ferrari 488 GT3 is a great toy, with lots of fun. It took a decent time to build, which I think is good. It is unproportional, which is unfortunate, but it also comes with perks. It is very realistic and comes with a trophy. It is a bit expensive, though. I think they should make a Lamborghini to rival this awesome set. Also, I can't figure out how to change the wheel interiors.
I am so glad they offered this set. Didn't want to purchase the larger set Ferrari Ultimate Garage. Not sure which of the versions looks best, the red and blue one or just red. Anyways this set looks great. Most detailed build of all the sets I currently own. Lot of new pieces, stickers look great, really not a lot to dislike here. The only thing a bit lacking is the side build, the trophy. Not as nice as some of the the other sets, but the main build more then makes up for it.ProLooks greatGood stickersNice buildReally displays nice and looks great against other race sets of this seriesConsSide build is small (trophy). Would prefer a little bit more, maybe a racing flag (yellow or green, already have too many checkered ones).Anyways great set. Only ... MoreI am so glad they offered this set. Only con is small side build, fairly easy to make something on your own if needed. Highly recommend this set.
