Lego Star Wars III 3DS brings the fun of the lego series to the 3DS handheld platform. It's generally a good job, but the small screen is tough for this game.First, let me say that I generally adore the Lego series, especially the Star Wars ones. We own most of them for the consoles and love playing them through to 100%. So we definitely appreciate the overall concept.I was intrigued to see how well it would port down to the tiny 3DS screen. Yes, the little characters are cute. Yes, the game in general is fun. But I just don't think the 3DS is the best way to play these. Their choice is between playing on the 3DS and not playing at all. Having a tiny game is better than having no game. But I would definitely say if you DO have access to a console that the game is much better on the larger console system. Especially since multiplayer is such an enormous joy in these games. Most of the fun for me on the console is the multiplayer. You lose that playing the 3DS version. Also it's worth noting that the autosave can get incredibly annoying / frustrating. You end up replaying the same boring section over and over again because of one hiccup you hit later on.On the up side, for people who haven't played any of the Lego games before, they are pretty much.

Wow, i can't believe i am the first one to write a review for this game. I can see all the other 3DS games have received a few reviews, but this one. I'm gonna give this game some lovin and attention. It is hard to review a game in words, so i am going to do my best. I wanted a game that was Mario like and since the launch titles for the 3DS were lacking a Mario and Zelda, i ended up picking this title up because i enjoy action adventure games. I didn't want Rayman 2 because it is another remake of the Rayman that was on the Dreamcast and the Rayman that was also released on the original DS Lite. For anyone whose ever played the other installments in the Lego series (Batman, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, etc) then one pretty much knows what's in store. The game is a great action/adventure platformer. You get to control some of your favorite Star Wars characters in this game and level one actually starts off where you control Yoda. You scroll through the levels with different objectives and things that must be collected. You can also switch between characters at anytime. In level one, Yoda can change between 2 characters and of course these characters serve a purpose. For instance, one character can swing far distances where Yoda can't, but he can levitate objects and so forth. Nice balance of utilizing players for different goals. Along the way, you'll encounter many villians that must be defeated. This game is sorta of a button masher. Of course, if you have seen the movie then.

I'm a big fan of the Lego Star Wars games and the Clone Wars TV show. The graphics in Lego Star Wars III are even better than the previous two Lego Star Wars games. It's a beautiful game. Moreover, the game has some innovative new levels, including a few battlefield levels in which players have to command troops and vehicles in order to conquer territory. But overall Lego Star Wars III doesn't quite meet the standards of its predecessors. I suspect this is partly because the Clone Wars TV show isn't quite over yet. The levels are generally based on episodes from Seasons 1 and 2 of the Clone Wars, but there isn't enough material for some of the episodes for a level. In the Lego Star Wars Saga, the hub was the cantina - brilliant in its sparsity. However, for this game the hub sprawls across two entire ships. It takes a long time to navigate and find new characters and bonus options in the hub. It's certainly not a major problem, but something that makes navigating the hub more of a chore than fun.Overall, given the price, Lego Star Wars III is a fun addition to the saga, but not quite the gaming gold of the originals.

If you like the Lego video game series at all, don't hesitate to buy this game. It has the simple, clean fun that you would expect from a Lego game. At the same time, it adds some fascinating new RTS elements along with tons of new moves for characters. Jedi can now move force-able pieces around freely, cut holes in certain walls, wall-jump, amongst many other different additions. For Star Wars fans, there's a good mix of Original 6 movie-based content along with the new Clone Wars series. It is a little difficult at first to figure out how some of the battlefield elements work. For example, some enemy buildings are only destructible by certain Republic ships, and the game does not specify that to you. However, it's nothing a little tinkering can't figure out.I agree ... MoreIf you like the Lego video game series at all, don't hesitate to buy this game. I think this is mostly due to the new battlefield element TT brought into the game. This game is easily worth the full price. Good to see TT keep cranking out quality games that keep improving. Can't wait to see what Pirates is like in a few months!

This is a nice game with colourful graphics and a wide variety of things to do on each level. As the game progresses, the difficulty does increase, and trying to get the 100% without turning on the extras like invincibility is certainly a big challenge. My main concern is that there does seem to be a few bugs in the game. In one of the early levels, when approaching the end, the game froze up and would not recover, therefore had to restart the PS3. Thankfully this has only happened once. But there was another bug where one person was on foot, another in a fighter, and when swapping them, caused the ship to dissappear and the character to plummet. I was surprised that there was no patch to download that fixed the errors, because as far as I'm aware, all the previous Lego games had patches.Still, a really good game with plenty of humour and wide varying gameplay that will keep you entertained.

Gameplay in LEGO Star Wars: The Clone Wars is very similar to LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga: characters with different abilities work together to solve puzzles and progress from one story segment to the next, lampooning Star Wars canon and characters along the way. There's "only" 21 story levels in The Clone Wars (as compared to The Complete Saga's 36+), but they are packed full of the same fun as the previous iteration. All told there's 40 to 50 hours of single player and/or co-operative gameplay because of the neccesary multiple level play-throughs to collect all of the hidden items. There's enough variety to keep things interesting and even though there's a wide range of difficulties in the challenges, very few of the puzzles are so difficult you have to resort to looking for a solution on the internet. The most common reason I've had to resort to a walkthrough are the hidden mini-kits that occasionally can be devilish to unlock. One of the defining features of the LEGO games is drop-in/drop-out cooperative play, which The Clone Wars has as well. A second player can drop in to an existing game at any time, play for a while and then drop out all without affecting the primary player's flow. It's a neat feature that allows me to pick up a controller and help my son out with a tricky part of a level and then turn it back over with no muss or fuss. The Clone Wars doesn't stray too far from the established LEGO game method, but there are a few surprises in here including.

My children (6 and 4) love the Lego games. Over the past couple of years they've unlocked every character, on their own, from the two Star Wars games and the Indiana Jones game. They also love Lego Batman. These games are great because they are basically no-fail games that stress working together, puzzle-solving, and are just plain fun. They are also extremely "wholesome". No gore, silly cartoon violence (people don't die, they just break a part like a Lego). When we saw Lego Clone Wars at Target in a playable form their two heads nearly exploded in excitement. It was more than a month before release and each time we revisited Target we had to stop by the video game department so they could play that same level again. Lo and behold, the Easter Bunny tucked the game into my oldest son's basket. Needless to say, he was excited. And then he played it.Let's just say that this game is only a Lego game in the broadest sense when compared to the others. They are Lego pieces and the levels are no-fail. You unlock characters through level completion (and by buying them) and there are some cute moments. But something has happened to the gameplay - it got too hard. This game is difficult. When the previous games were difficult it was because they were throwing a lot of enemies at you. This one is difficult because the objectives are not always clear and sometimes you just don't know where to go/what to do. There have been a couple spots where it took me helping them to progress and, hones.

The game has improved on just about everything. First Lego games were already good. Now their better. The Jedi have better skills with the fore. They can force push objects into other objects with having to line them up in a straight line. Hold the B button and a circle will appear on the designated target, release and watch it hit. You can now throw your lightsaber at a predesignated target. Or randomly. And the Jedi all have their own moves when it comes to their lightsaber swings. Flying has improved also, not sure how to describe it, but it's definitely better than the others. I have yet to play the whole game, but the mission now have objectives. Seems to be no more, follow the path till you reach the end kind of missions. Plus there are so many more ways to complete the missions. Destroy things with a lightsaber, or a gun, maybe even use a vehicle and grab a torpedo to destroy them. Bottom line, if you love or even just like Lego games, this one is a must!

I ordered this for him for release day delivery and let him know I wanted to hang out and watch him play it as he gave me feedback about what he thought of it. (So I could do a review for others. I enjoy video games as well and know how helpful it can be knowing if a game is any good.)I sat with him as he played and asked his thoughts on what he does and doesn't like about the game, but all I heard for about 3 hours was "WOW mom look at THIS!!!". I asked him if there was anything about the game he didn't like, he said not at all.Something I noticed is the game had interesting new graphics. The colors and design almost looked as though they added a bit more realistic looking texture to things like walls and floors. It's as though they've added just a touch of realistic textures to buildings and structures. The colors are still extremely vivid, but they have now given even more depth to the playing environment. So far one of his favorite aspects is being able to play as a Lego Clone. Some of the areas he explored had a very 3D-4D Mario Galaxy feel to them as well. Parts of the game seem to jump off the screen. While he has just begun to explore everything this game has to offer, he is already ecstat.

This LEGO game is the best one yet, taking the player to all corners of the Star Wars galaxy. The story levels start at the Geonosis Arena battle from Episode II and continues through the first two seasons of the Clone Wars TV series. The campaign has three channels: Count Dooku, General Grevious, and Asajj Ventress, each one having a series of levels, capturing each of their allies much like in the LEGO Batman videogame. Of course, they still have to stick to the Star Wars storyline, so the player never captures Dooku, Grevious, or Asajj themselves. The hub world is made up of an entire Republic cruiser along with a Separatist cruiser a small flight's distance away. The player can travel through the bridge, the med-bay, holding cells, hangars, etc. being the same way with the Separatist cruiser. Characters that haven't been purchased by the player yet that have been unlocked wanders the hub world until you buy them, good guys on the Republic cruiser, bad guys on the Separatist.
