Better than I expected, but still falls short

I pre-ordered this set to hit a gwp threshold earlier in the year knowing that I'd probably want to pick it up eventually. While it exceeded my expectations, it doesn't feel like the asking price is justified. The build itself is just sort of, meh. It's definitely lacking in substance. My biggest gripe has to be the Luke and Leia minifigs. Compared to the minifigs we've gotten in the other dioramas both this year and last, these feel like they got the least amount of love. Yeah those helmets are nice, but they both should have had dual molded legs here at the very least. Luke needs some black in his arms too. The saving grace here are the speeder builds though. Those are some of the best I'd ever seen. Wait for a sale on this one.

Oddly enough, Lego removed my reviews for both new diorama sets, so I will once again get straight to the point with this review. Firstly, the quote “Quick! Jam THEIR comlinks…” is inaccurate to this specific set the reason being is because there’s only ONE scout trooper on ONE speederbike. If there were at least TWO scout troopers on TWO speeder bikes, the quote would then be accurate. With this being an Endor diorama, I would expect a little more foliage built into the set. Another negative about this diorama is the Luke and Leia minifigures. For an $80 price, you'd expect premium minifigures, especially if only 3 total are included in the set. The Luke minifigure would've been much better if he had a black torso (and arms) and then cloth camo to go over him. Their legs are not great either. It looks as though someone drew over them with a marker. To break it down, this set gives us 2 small trees with very little foliage, two battlepack speederbikes (though they do look rather nice), and 3 minifigures, two of which are terrible...all for $80 before tax.Total let down. So, in short, if this diorama was a bit longer to accommodate another scout trooper and speederbike, included more foliage and trees, and improved the Luke and Leia minifigures, it would be a near perfect set.

Great but just lacking
6 May 2023

I'm a 19 year old lego enthusiast thats always loved building, loved star wars, and especially loved the movie "return of the jedi" so buying this set was a no brainer. Although the build was great to do, the set looks pretty nice, and overall i'm glad i bought it.... the set just doesn't fully feel worth the price of $130 aud. However with vip points I was able to get it for $115 aud so I was more inclined to buy it. I feel like if the set was slightly bigger (100 pieces or so) maybe involving an ewok, or another scout trooper in the trees or a backdrop behind them this set could have been much better. Anyways enough rambling, I'd say if you love star wars, and don't mind overpaying a little bit this set is great.

Granted, this is a cute set and it looks nice on display. But the price is just hugely exploitative. This set has 608 pieces and costs £70. The Indiana Jones Escape From Lost Tomb set is of similar size, has 600 pieces and cost £35. Oh, but you can't compare number of bricks people tell me. Ok, so let's go by weight. Speeder Bike Chase weighs in at 422g of brick, while the Escape From The Lost Tomb set weighs in at 531g of brick. Why is a similar licensed set that has 8 more pieces and uses over 100g less of brick twice the price? I would really like to know how the extra £35 I’m paying is justified? Regardless, it's not really fair play and I would kindly ask you reconsider your price points for future Star Wars diorama sets.

The original Lego Speeder Bikes from 1999 was my first Star Wars Lego set, and ROTJ is my favorite Star Wars movie. This set is effectively a remake of the original set, with 2 speeder bikes, a scout trooper, Luke Skywalker and a tree base.Nearly 25 years later there have been substantial updates in design, and Lego added Princess Leia and an extra tree. That being said, this set might not be for everyone- just the speeder bikes and minifigures should be worth $40.Pros include minifigure selection (Leia, Luke, and Scout Trooper), printed tile pieces, and 24 of the newer leaf pieces (no extra). I bought this as part of the May 4th promotion as I already have a couple of the others (the Trash Compactor set is my favourite); but I have to say I was a little let down by the end result. The base build was ok, some nice new green pieces (ferns, I think) added to the scene, but there weren't enough. The trees were good and sturdy (if a bit fiddly), I liked the way they secured into the base.I put the speeder bikes together and placed them onto the sticks, took a step back to admire my build and thought: 'Ah here, I've made a mistake somewhere - those bikes look like they're about to keel over!'I removed and replaced the sticks several times, trying to get the angle right, but it just wouldn't happen like the picture on the box. This took the shine off the ... MoreI bought this as part of the May 4th promotion as I already have a couple of the others (the Trash Compactor set is my favourite); but I have to say I was a little let down by the end result. The base build was ok, some nice new green pieces (ferns, I think) added to the scene, but there weren't enough. Not worth it
13 May 2023

I have all of the other Star Wars dioramas and this one is by far the worst. There are some fun possibilities with the posing but overall the set is lacking in any oomph. The minifigs are nice enough although I feel that luke and leia are missing a cape. This should be in the £25-£35 price range. The build was reasonably nice, I liked the speed of this one compares to some of the other dioramas (I'm looking at you dagobah swamp tiles). The speeders are nice enough although the supports leave them at quite a steep angle even with some adjusting.I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless they are a die hard fan who wants a full set.

Overall Disappointing
14 May 2023

This set promised to be better than it is! It's very basic with only two trees and three mini figures and not much pizazz! The speeders don't match the pictures on the box and no adjusting of the sticks make the angle less pronounced. You cannot see their faces and one speeder is hidden by the tree when on display - and if you move them closer (as shown as an option) - then they are overlapping and touching and still not displaying properly. I think Lego should offer capes for the figures, more foliage, background, and new taller sticks with a better angle for displaying the speeders. Overall, this set falls short from the other dioramas. It's also really pricey for what it is!

falls a little short
13 May 2023

I feel as though the set is so close to being a winner, the speeders and well designed and constructed with more detail than previous speeder designs. i found the angle of the speeders to be adjustable depending on which slot on the bottom of the speeder you attached the clear rod to giving plenty of customizability to how the speeders are angled. The trees are actually fun to put together with how the roots interface with the ground. That being said, I cant help but feel like the build needs something more. Perhaps more foliage on the top of the trees or some background plates. Either way, It feels a little empty and needs a tweak to give it something more.
