I was surprisingly pleased with this set after I finished building it. Like others have mentioned, it is bigger than the picture on the box leads you to believe. It is pretty accurate in capturing the slight differences that make this the Hoth model as opposed to the Endor version we're more familiar with. One area that would make this set better is adding joints to the legs to make it walk more naturally. Not sure if that is possible at this scale. Another area to improve would be the snow covered Chewbacca. I like having this unique figure, but I wish he was more caked with snow like you see in Episode V.The price at $50 is "eh." I'd feel better at $40-$45 but I think LEGO can get away with $50 and not call this overpriced.

I am pleasantly surprised with this set. The build for the AT-ST is bigger than it looks on the box and is actually very close to minifig scale. The head of the walker looks nice. The plates fit together smoothly and the spring-loaded missiles are well hidden. You won't have to worry about shooting them by mistake. The legs are surprisingly sturdy and they do a good job of supporting the weight of the head when standing in neutral position. The $50.00 price feels just right for this. You're not getting an amazing value, but it certainly is not overpriced. There are a few minor flaws. There are some visible beige pieces on the legs that are very noticeable. You can certainly try to display the AT-ST with the legs bent, but it is very hard to balance and will fall over easily. The goggles for the Rebel Trooper are oversized and look goofy. This is one case where I would have preferred the goggles be printed on the face. Since the head is double-sided, they could have made one face with the goggles and one face without. Overall, a solid set, and a great addition to any Hoth display.

If you have the UCS AT-AT, you absolutely need this set. It displays perfectly with the AT-AT. Everything looks to scale based on pics from the movie. This set was lots of fun to build. This set does have some repetition. But, that’s only because it’s symmetrical. I especially love the rotating head mechanism and the flick missiles. There are a couple of minor cons to this set. The first one would have to be that the cockpit is a little small and it took some adjusting to fit the pilot inside. The other con involves the Probe Droid. He is very delicate and certain pieces could detach with the slightest touch. But, overall, this set is definitely one of the coolest smaller sets I’ve recently purchased. I really enjoyed this set! It has a few features like how you can turn the head, shoot the lasers, and, in a way, you can make it walk. The legs move backward, but not forward. The minifigure selection is great! There's a rebel trooper, a nice edition to anyone's Hoth rebel army, There's Chewie, too. Who wouldn't want Chewie? And he has new 2022 snow printing! Then we have the AT-ST driver. He has a new helmet design, the same one that General Veers had in the UCS AT-AT, and the driver has a white torso instead of gray, which adds a nice Hoth effect. To anyone who wants to buy this to go with their Rogue One AT-ST, this one has a different head shape, and the legs are taller. So it wouldn't go too well. Also, I kind of wish this one had Hoth Han in it to re-create the scene where Han and Chewie were shooting at the Probe Droid. Oh, yes. The probe droid. At first I was't really exited with the probe droid, but then I found that it's pact with character. It has a clear stand to make it look like it's floating. And it is fairly more accurate than previous versions. And this set has NO STICKERS! Unlike the AT-ST Raider. (which I own) The AT-ST Raider had WAY too many stickers. But surprisingly, this doesn't. The inside of the cockpit looks a little ugly, but it's okay because it's not exposed. The set is remarkably sturdy, and not head-heavy like the two previous AT-ST's. Anyway, this was a fun and rewarding build that will make a fine display in your collection. It's a good gift for kids 6 and up, and the reason I say that is because the set des NOT break easily. The head actually turns all the way around, unlike the two other AT-ST's. And like another review said, you don't have to worry about accidentally shooting the laser bullets. Now, the price. The price is pretty good for what you get, but not amazing or anything. The plastic Lego uses is not expensive, as you all know, but Lego has to make a good profit to create more of their awesome toys. I hope to see more sets like this in the future! I hope this review was helpful.

As an avid Lego Star Wars collector this is embarrassingly the first AT-ST to join my collection. The AT-ST is a depiction of those briefly seen during the Battle of Hoth in Episode V, a scene very much stolen by its larger sibling the AT-AT, and as far as I’m aware is the first Lego AT-ST model from the battle. It’s size scales well vs Lego figures and the legs both move, along with the forward cannons, and the upper section rotates via a wheel mechanism to the rear. The model is very sturdy and would suit play purposes well, although the legs have to be positioned carefully to avoid the model toppling over. A slightly random inclusion as I don’t recall Chewbacca featuring in the Hoth battle scene, surprising as one would assume Wookiees would fair well in the snow. There is also a relatively to scale depiction of an Imperial scout droid.Overall, this is my favourite land-based Star Wars Lego model and now makes up the centrepiece of my collection. It definitely turns heads, even from those who would normally question why an adult owns so much Lego…Last point, due to the accurate depiction I would expect this model to sell out fast and be relatively sought after once it’s ‘retired’ by Lego and it also complements the recent ‘Defence of Hoth’ battle pack well.If you’re a fan of Star Wars Lego you won’t be disappointed!

LEGO Hoth AT-ST

The Hoth AT-ST Walker is a great LEGO set, and perfect for accompanying other LEGO Star Wars models due to its scalable size and great display properties (Note: Pictures featured in this review also show the LEGO AT-AT UCS!). The build itself is good fun and to my pleasant surprise, quite challenging, considering the relative size and number of elements. The final Walker model has multiple functions ie. rotating super structure, two (Shooting!) blasters and detailed cladding. The Hoth AT-ST set contains more than 550 LEGO elements including three Mini Figures and a very cool Probe Droid. The value of this set is absolutely fair and I highly recommend this LEGO set to all LEGO and Star Wars fans!

Nice addition to Hoth collection

This set is a great addition to any Hoth collection. Pros: 1. The minifigures are nice, and they are a good quality. The snow on Chewbacca is a nice touch. 2. The set includes a probe droid. 3. The rotating head of the AT-ST adds extra playability to the set when creating battle scenes. 4. It is a good-sized set. 5. Overall, this is a nice-looking set.Cons: 1. I wish the legs had more articulation for posing it in walking positions. 2. If the legs are not positioned at just the right spot/angle, the walker can be unstable.

This is a great set. No doubt about that.I love the Empire Strikes Back, and that opening sequence on Hoth is timeless. This rounds out my imperial "collection" for that battle (Got the AT-AT recently as well) and it looks the part.Something about the Imperial grey just works with Lego. Again: Great set.The build process was a little on the difficult side, but I expected that after my previous AT-ST build. Definitely heed the 9+ age rating on the box.The mini figures are a little disappointing. I would have liked someone other than Chewbaca, but the inclusion of a probe droid makes it make sense. Compared the AT-ST Raider (from the Mandalorian), the head looks undersized when compared to the rest of the set. I understand the need to change sets here and there for a "new" release, but if it ain't broke don't fix it.For $50 though, it's a good buy. Similarly to the TIE Fighter, some proportions are off but the tradeoff is a lower price. And for me that always makes it worth it.I fully recommend this set to just about anyone.
