Was super excited when this was announced and pre-ordered immediately along with Boba Fett and TIE Fighter Pilot helmets.I strung the build out over a few days on purpose but the build was both interesting and enjoyable. When it was finished, I was surprised at two things: 1) how much smaller it was than I was expecting, and 2) how freaking amazing it looks in person.I've got a LOT of Star Wars Lego sets and this little guy is easily one of my new favorites. I was prepared to be a little disappointed with the final result in that the pics I'd seen online and in reviews looked a little... off somehow. Elongated, maybe? But I'm here to tell you it's just weird photography angles because on display this Stormtrooper helmet is amazing. If they're anywhere near as awesome as Stormtrooper, this is a line I'll look forward to Lego continuing for a long time.

The Stormtrooper was my first 'bust- build'... It was thoroughly enjoyable and the way it connects to the stand makes it safe to move around. The eye-pieces were a little fiddly at first but they went together well. I really do like this one but the Tie Pilot is my favourite.I do feel that the busts do miss something though. A minifigure to accompany the build would have been a smart touch, much like the BB-8. However, Lego advocates the use of imagination so I added one myself.I highly recommend all three builds and I'm seriously looking forward to the Iron Man release.

I have purchased all three and decided to start with the Stormtrooper Helmet as I figured it would be my least favourite of them. I was pleasantly surprised to find the build itself extremely satisfying. The attention to the small details and angles of the helmet as it goes together is something that Lego has done very well. Overall very sturdy and the finished result had me extremely happy. The picture doesn't do the end product justice. If this one was supposed to be the one I wasn't going to like I can't wait to start the other ones!*SPECIAL NOTE* make sure to put the stickers on the sides of the 'nose/mouth' as close as possible to the corner and NOT in the centre of the piece so that the printed pattern in the middle flows directly on to the sticker. Recently started building Lego with my son and got interested in building something more advanced and "for adults".I chose this set because of several reasons. Inte has a reasonable price tag to allow me to dip my toes into adult Lego, it would take me some time but not too Long, I love Star Wars and it looks cool when finished.Well, I must say that I was not disappointed! This is really something else than the Lego I remembered as a kid, much more advanced. I took my time and really enjoyed the process. I wouldnt say it ewas challenging but it demanded some attention at times. This allowed me to never really struggle to the point where I got annoyed but still felt satisfaction when it was done. For experienced builders, perhaps it's too simple, not sure. Now, ... MoreRecently started building Lego with my son and got interested in building something more advanced and "for adults".I chose this set because of several reasons. For experienced builders, perhaps it's too simple, not sure. Now, I wish it would have been a little bigger, but at this size it will fit in most shelfs or on most desks. Also, since it's a symmetrical head the build got a tad repetitive, but that's just in the nature of it.This really sparked my interest for adult Lego and I will purchase the Tie Fighter Pilot to continue.I would definately recommend this to any novice builder or Star Wars fan!
First time building a Lego set since I was a kid. I'm a huge Star Wars fan and when I saw this was coming out, I know I needed to hop on this (especially during these trying times). Picked up the Lego set the day it was released and immediately got to work. Inside the box, there were five separate bags of pieces. The way the set is built, you use one bag at a time, this is great so you don't have to rummage through 800+ pieces, you only have access to the pieces in your current phase of building. Instructions were very clear and it was not difficult to put the pieces together. The design is amazing and it looks just like the pictures. I was lucky enough to get this with the other 2 helmets in the set (Bobba Fett and Tie Fighter Pilot)This was the easiest of the three to build, while still challenging, Seeing the helmet come into shape was fun and interesting to build, with the monochrome colour scheme of the visible helmet, some of the steps are a little more complex to see what bricks are added where, and also where parts fit together when placing smaller built sections on larger sections (the sides of the helmet are especially notorious for this, in both this helmet and the tie fighter helmet)They will look fantastic alongside the other Star Wars Lego sets and Star Wars merchandise. Sticker warning! Yes, there are a stickers on this kit, mainly for the detailing on the side fins of the helmet. Nothing too onerous but I loathe adding stickers. I did consider leaving them off but decided to woman up and just go for it. Glad I did as they do enhance the finish.I didn't realise when I built it that I had the faceplate one stud too low so he looks a little off in my poor photos. As soon as I took him upstairs to add to my display I realised so cue sitting on the bed and taking him apart and fixing my mistake.Finishes out at around 1/3 life size so a substantial display piece that looks really great on my shelving. Though it was a quick build, this set looks amazing and was a fun one; I especially like the way the eyes are done. Lego did a good job making it look round, and the whatever-they-are tubes are also done quite nicely (though having to put a sticker on every piece was a little bit annoying). The part of the helmet with the mouth grill could have been a little sturdier, though for display it's not a problem. I also think it would have been cool if the display stand was removable but in reality its not really necessary. All and all though, I love it! The black background for the instructions was a nice touch, I would like to see that more. Definitely worth $80.
We did a family build night with Episode 4 playing on the TV. I bought all 3 helmet busts a while back and decided it was time to break out the boxes. These are just a bit taller than a new iPhone. If you put your iPhone horizontal that’s how wide they are. But they are solid and sturdy. The storm trooper is very cool with crisp white and black accents.Bobba Fett is awesome with the colors; the viewer comes down. The fighter pilot is jet black with silver accents- very menacing.Instructions come with a ½ page of lore. The builds were easy, but I labeled intermediate because of the attention it takes for the monochrome parts. These are display pieces, not for action play.
Been doing Lego Star Wars for seven years now...This is the third helmet I have, and every time I put the front end on of one of these things, the peieces aren't lining up. I have to strip it down...The angles that are illustrated when putting pieces together are terrible, that has been a issue with some of these newer sets. Don't show me a side shot from above of where I need to connect two pieces, I can't see what the other side is doing. Is it up? Is facing down? Upside down? I'm blind sometimes when putting parts to parts. Especially models with legs...There's an arrow, great, I can't see what hole it goes in (AT-AT was like that, and the six legged Clone Trooper Walker was like that.)AND WHY AREN'T THE WHITE PIECES HIGHLIGHTED IN YELLOW (or some color) WHEN ... MoreBeen doing Lego Star Wars for seven years now...This is the third helmet I have, and every time I put the front end on of one of these things, the peieces aren't lining up. IT'S WHITE!! It's like trying to find a contact lens in the snow....Fett's helmet had a highlighted outline for the pieces, same with the Tie Fighter helmet.Lego, You need to update your building directions manuals, move beyond a page to page manual. I suggested using an app where you could download the model number and the app actually shows an animated GIF for each page, how the pieces are put together. You take your tablet, phone (whatever) download the app, type in the model number of the lego unit, brings up unit, hit page one, shows you the pieces, does a small animated GIF of how the pieces go...page two, same thing, and so on. I like Lego, always like the stuff that comes out, but I think sometimes the directions are terrible. Update it...
