The Lego Tumbler is a challenging set. It's over 2,000 pieces and takes a good 8-12 hours to build. The box says "18+" and this set definitely earns it, with layer upon layer of black legos on black legos. But when you finish a couple hundred pages of instructions, it's a rewarding build. It's invites people in for a closer look. Lego really captured the look of the Tumbler with its overlapping plates and sharp angles. But I have some minor complaints. This set doesn't have any of the features of the Tumbler from the movies. Even with 2,049 pieces, they couldn't figure out how to make the driver seat switch positions like it does in *Batman Begins*. The Batpod doesn't pop out like in *the Dark Knight*. It doesn't fire missiles. The doors don't open. It's really a ... MoreThe Lego Tumbler is a challenging set. It's over 2,000 pieces and takes a good 8-12 hours to build. Although it looks incredibly cool, don't expect this set to "do" anything.Lastly, it probably goes without saying but the Lego Batman and Joker minifigures are not proportional to the Tumbler in any way, making their inclusion feel like an unnecessary afterthought. If you have a 20" × 20" tabletop area that needs to be filled with a serious Lego build, the Tumbler is a good option. It would not look out of place in your kid's bedroom or your manager's office. Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. built a sophisticated piece of hardware for the Dark Knight trilogy, and this set celebrates the intricacy of that design.

It's beautiful. It's fun to build. Most people who are building aren't going to be playing with it. It's not to scale with the minifigs so much as 6" action figures (for minfig scale, check out the $40 set). Do not give the UCS Tumbler to anyone under 12. They won't appreciate it anyway. If they're fans of the Nolan Batmobile, give them the cheaper set for that reason too. I wanted to give this set 3.5 stars but it wouldn't let me, so I downgraded, to 3.Here's why:This set is constructed using A LOT of scaffolding pieces (holder thing-ys) which tend to get worn easily over time. While my Star Destroyers, Millenium Falcons, Droids etc do well after a decade or so and maybe need a replacement part here or there, I was moving this CAR a couple inches today and things ... It's not "Legos" fault necessarily, it's just... to get Nolan's aesthetic (which may something for the practicality of his design honestly, IRL it would fall apart really easily) you need a lot of the 'hold' peg like pieces which tend to break. And it sucks... but people should know that if they want a product to hold up for years to come, I'd go for something much sturdier like the lego UCS 89 Batmobile or lego UCS 89 Batwing (or something like the nicely geometric Star Wars ships). Or if you want a Nolan Batmobile, go for the $40 (which probably has the same flaws, but hey it's $40 bucks!) Buyer beware, due to the nature of its design it's not as awesome as I hoped.

This tumbler is pretty cool. They nailed the look of the tumbler, everything from the big tires and cockpit area. The “guns” on it look really cheesy, they could have done better on that aspect. But all in all great, fun set to build. The stand sucks like all the rest of the other stands from lego, very flimsy(with this on top). And yet again very fragile. This isn’t something to be played with due to all the pieces falling off like most of the larger lego sets. Build it and set it on shelf.

I enjoy sets that are challenging and take time to build. So far so good. I sometimes use CA glue on certain parts that don’t stay in place very well. Especially on these bigger sets. You gotta be certain of the placement and fit before you start in with glue obviously but then at least you can handle the finished product without pieces coming off when you handle it. Liking this kit so far and only on the number 2 bags so far. A bit pricey though. I like some of the nifeliz kits for value compared to Lego. And they are definitely challenging to build. Just my 2 cents.
The building process for me wasn't very exciting. It wasn't challenging and it didn't have you doing many different things on each step of the instruction booklet. Being an adult, you look for challenging builds but I know this is also meant for kids as well so I won't fault them too much for the process. As with all Lego sets of this size and price point I wish they didn't include stickers. Having printed pieces would really make this build look a whole lot more elegant. For those of us who aren't good at putting stickers on, we can really make things look bad. Other than the lackluster building process really my only complaints, as with all Lego sets, is I do wish for printed pieces at this price and think it should be 20% less expensive than its MSRP. Looking past that, the real take away from this is if you love the Batman Tumbler as much as I do then you will love the end result. The size and beauty of this set will blow you away. Great display piece for sure. It will make you want to say "I'm Batman"
Honestly wanted to love it since it was brought back from the vault. Absolute trash! Should’ve saved the cash and bought the smaller version. All black pieces make this fairly difficult to put together. Honestly a boring build. Lost interest about a third of the way through. Feels like breathing next to this makes Levi’s fall off. Worst of all! They raised the price of this after I bought it. As someone who loves Lego and Batman, I can’t recommend this at all!
This set is wonderful! I got this as a gift for Christmas, and being quite an avid builder built it within a day. It's really large and makes an epic display item. It comes with two minifigures, one being Heath Ledgers Joker which has to be one of my favourite minifigures I own! The set looks great on my shelf and it is definitely a talking point! It is epic!
My first unhappy Lego experience. I am in AFOL, really like some of these super complex technical models especially the cranes. I know this particular model get lots of great reviews but there are some problems with it. First and foremost and what is the major source of disappointment is the front wheels do not turn left and right. I think this is the first Lego that I’ve ever bought at above 50 bucks where the front wheels should turn, and don’t turn. Can I tell you how disappointing that is. After that, there are a variety of points where model components are a bit fragile, and easily pop off.if those things aren’t a big deal for you, then this is a phenomenal model that really mimics the car from the movies well I would look great as a show piece mounted ... Also, the light kits that you can get for it are just absolutely amazing and worth the investment in time – just be really careful with the thin wires!
A few reviews on here regarding shipping, so figured I'd share my experience. Mine arrived undamaged, as it was over-boxed with the proper protection, which was nice. The build itself is solid - lots of adjustability on the armor/flaps; however this is not nearly as mechanical as some of the other Technic builds (Porsch 911 RSR, for instance). Total build time for me was 5.5hr total over 2 days.
Now that I'm writing down this review, I'm not sure if there's a more definitive Tumbler showpiece on this scale than this Lego version. It's probably this one. Not that there were a lot of Tumbler incarnations that were released on this scale to begin with.If you're a fan of the Dark Knight Trilogy, you can also argue that this might be the definitive Batmobile "toy" to get--that is, if you can still consider this thing a toy.The Dark Knight trilogy has a special place in the hearts of those who might have been too young to fully appreciate the Keaton movies, or those who think that that this trilogy were a better set of films compared to how the DCEU handled Batman. If you want something that can be considered the holy grail of The Dark Knight trilogy merchandise, this Lego set is a contender. My only slight issue with this thing is that the play value is near non-existent. It's 100% a display thing only. The skeletal structure is sturdy enough, though some of the plates that cover the exterior of the vehicle can be flimsy. Certainly, the creators of this Batmobile were gunning for accuracy, at the expense of a really robust structural integrity. The real plaything is is the smaller version of this that also just came out. In essence, if you can afford the bigger Tumbler for $220, it would probably be somewhat manageable for you to also get the smaller one for $40. That one has more robust built. You should get that one too.
