I had seen this truck and had been lamenting over it for weeks, my wife purchased it for me and it then sat in my closet for weeks again (LONG STORY). Moving on....I began building this and immediately could not wait to complete it and play with it. It has several operating/moving parts that are fun to play with. There is a gear that controls the steering of the vehicle, there is another gear assembly that captures the waste can, lifts, & dumps it, then there is a lever that raises & dumps the truck hold. On top of all those functions it rolls/drives, the doors open, and the mirrors are adjustable. This is a fun build for an adult or child.

The Mack LR Electric Garbage Truck is sleek, compact and affordable. I am so impressed by the way the Lego designers managed to fit all the mechanisms inside this and they work great!It was both a challenging and rewarding build, seeing how the grabbing arm works from the inside was awesome.I hope Lego make more sets like this. I would this recommend to anyone for sure! 5/5

My grandson got this for his 7th birthday. He was totally absorbed by building the truck and then by playing with it. He loved it. And I loved having given him such a good gift. Couldn't have been better!I think it was complicated enough to build, and the completed toy is not just a vehicle but something he actually can do things with, as it empties the refuse etc. A great toy!

Overall this set offers everything I wanted from a model of this utility vehicle and is affordable for what you get + the building process. While I would have preferred the side panels with “recycle” on them to be prints instead of stickers because of the total surface area for each, the only thing that bothers me about this set is the gear box assembly for the arm. The small tan gears are very easy to knock off of their axels, even after the truck is fully assembled, which completely disarms the mechanism; and during the initial construction I had to repeatedly with tweezers put the gears back into place. What I like most from this set is its size and its capacity. And the truck’s refuse tank is quite spacious and accommodates almost all minifigure accessory sized elements, making play more intuitive if one would want to introduce heaps more pieces for interacting with the model’s functions.
My son is 6 and was so excited that this set had exposed working gears that operate the recycling grabber arm. First Technic set he built all on his own. Instructions were straightforward for him to place the more intricate parts correctly. He was very proud of himself when it was finished. Good value for money, got it for 25% off at Costco.
I picked this set up for a few reasons: one, I can't resist a reasonably priced and functional technic set; two, I know my son will love putting this together when he's a bit older (but for now will love playing it); three, this set will be a fantastic challenge for my class to assemble this year as part of our structures and mechanisms unit. Great set all around! Would love to see more like it at this price point:)
A great set for a young builder looking to get into Lego Technic or anyone looking for a good time and rewarding build. This set has great value for its price, and 3 separate mechanics including steering, lifting, and dumping. Quite a few stickers! Recommend adult help/supervision with some builders under 13
This was my son’s first technic lego solo build and he thoroughly enjoyed it. We were excited hoping it was an actual electric dump truck and were a little disappointed when we could not find a battery source. I think the branding of electric should not have been emphasised on the box.That being said, he still enjoyed the build and using the controls to lift and dump the bin. I hope we see more of these affordable mid range builds because Lego should cater to young old and the middle.
This was a simple fun build. The grapeling claws work really well and was easy to build and get into the truck. The wheels in front move left/right and the rear part of the truck lifts up and drops it's contents. There are a few stickers in which I recommend using Windex & tweezers to apply and position on the truck. The color are white & green and the finished model looks good when it's done. The instructions are easy to understand and I had no issues in building it. This is a nice truck to build and do recommend it. Enjoy it.
