Now Star Wars fans can build their own Stormtrooper, in the distinctive white armour of the Imperial forces. With roughly 50 small pieces per leg, it's an intricate operation, though the finished model is over a foot tall. The model is reasonably dynamic--turn a dial and the arms move; pull a lever and the Stormtrooper shoots his gun, releasing the projectile (a surprisingly long way); and while his legs don't move, it makes him more stable for standing and displaying. Assembly is a work of patience and slow construction, obviously designed to be a challenge. Included is a substantial booklet of invaluable detailed instructions. Following instructions carefully does indeed prove to be a necessity. The LEGO pieces are carefully sectioned up into separate labelled bags for different sections, which means that there is no frustrating searching for the relevant pieces. Each page of instructions includes a 1:1 scale diagram, allowing the builder to measure parts against the instructions and cheque that they are using the right pieces of this sophisticated kit. The Star Wars Stormtrooper and C-3PO interact: fire an shoot from the Stormtrooper gun, hit the round panel on C-3PO's torso and his head and arms will fly off--but never fear, they can be reinstated undamaged. The instruction book also gives details of another use for the pieces included. Builders can double the fun by assembling the same pieces into a speedy looking battleship design. This will means disassembling your Stormtrooper, but then you'll have the fun of building him all over again.
