As a huge Porsche 911 fan, I was already excited when I purchased this kit, but it surpassed all my expectations! The entire time I was building it, I couldn't help but marvel at the impressive engineering behind it. It's solid, weighty, and larger than I initially anticipated. I was truly impressed and would highly recommend it if you're considering getting one. The only minor challenge was applying the stickers, as getting them perfectly straight was tricky, but after figuring out a strategy, it wasn't too bad. Overall, it was so much fun to build, and it's a fantastic collector's item, especially since they seem to be limited editions.

Oh my, one of the most enjoyable Lego builds i have ever done. The finished build is detailed, it was a little bigger than i expected to my surprise, and the working flat-6 engine is magnificent. To top it all of, the suspension system can handle easily a 30-35cm drop -do not try this at home- without a problem, and without any parts falling off or getting apart. As a Porsche fan i definitely recommend it to all flatheads out there. Lastly, the only downside i see in this set, is the higher purchase price. It feels weird seeing a 150-160ish Euro (when purchased 2 years ago), now costing 200 a couple years later.

The pictures don't do this set justice; it looks stunning once fully built, and really captures the classic Porsche 911 look great. Some complain about the overly large headlights, but I think it suites general Porsche design and makes it look that much more 'lego'.The build process is mostly great, but with one caveat; the bags aren't numbered and are kinda difficult to find what you need. If you're good at brick organization or enjoy the challenge, you'll love it. This was the first Lego I have bought for myself in 25 years. After playing with my son I got back into this and loved this build. After reading a number of reviews I started by preparing my bricks and verifying all my parts were there before starting to build.I spent a good couple of hours making this and having lots of fun understanding what I was building.Value for money I think it is good but to make it better, I would have liked some really lights or a motor included.I think the manual could be a bit more like the botanicals by sharing some information about the real 911 RSR as your building. That would be my two nice to haves. My two “to improves” would be the suspension, the car is riding quite high compared to a real 911 RSR.My other issue is the ... MoreThis was the first Lego I have bought for myself in 25 years. A great educational piece for the young and budding designers of the world, soon to be of speaking. A great father and son, father and daughter, experience also. This just doesn't limit your capabilities, but enhances them. I know it might be expensive to some, but I do see that you can use Klarna, and pay over a certain agreed period. This now makes the possible unaffordable, affordable, should you wish. I'll say it does take a little while to complete, but the satisfaction my son and I had in completing it, was all the more rewarding.

Tremendously fun to build!!! Slightly challenging, as expected, but that's what I expect from a 1500+ piece set! I have spent way too much time admiring it sitting on my dining room table. One comment (not an actual complaint), the bags aren't numbered, so it took 18 ziploc bags, both 1-gallon and snack sized, and took up the entire table while building. It was still ridiculous amounts of fun, and would do it again in a heartbeat. Strongest possible recommendation.

The building experience was easy, and its got nice parts. The completed build is nice with the suspension. I spent about 20 minutes pressing it down and watching it bounce back up. My only gripe is the back wheels. They grind up against the chassis and i had to modify it in a way the could be considered an illegal build technique in order to prevent that from happening. Also since the car is tilted forward, the front bumper grinds against the ground which in real life would probably make it a nightmare to go up a bad slope. Overall its a nice build though, enough so that i dug through my collection and built it again for kicks.

Just a short review of my 2019 set, as I'm buying another set to build as MOC-80217 by Lucas2020 which addresses many of the issues reported by other builders herein. Accepting that this is more of a display rather than play set, steering and floppability can be ignored - or if need be, reinforced with additional beams and connectors which can be bought from various sources (It's your Lego after all). I have carried out the suggested roof modifications to move the white flexible roof axles inwards at the front corners which helps the appearance a little bit. (See the Rebrickable website). The wheels are said to be correct in scale size, the problem is the arches (wrong shape) and the ride height. The ride height is resolved by "forcing" the springs up a notch (there are suggestions online how to do this). Doors are floppy, the steering wheel is too low, haven't got an answer here, yet. After 4 years the white roof stickers are coming up at the edges. Other stickers have the same problem with virtually all sets that there are obvious gaps when applied to adjacent panels (due to the amount of sticker left behind on the main sheet), this is not good enough. What could be done is to use some of the trim left over to at least fill in small gaps. To address the unnumbered bags, ok, this is a builders problem to resolve...one I do by utilising a batch of around 6-8 ice cream tubs (empty of course). I have a system where particular parts are sorted, for example...all long blue pins & short black go into one tub, all panels into another, all beams from 4 studs upwards into another, all axles separate tub, all Lego bricks into another, all connectors separate and so on. Ok, that might take an hour or so to do but it’s all part of the "build experience" and I'm sure everyone has there own way of doing it. The overall build is fine, you can look ahead in the instructions to see where parts fit in later pages, that helps as well..!

Unnumbered bags

I was concerned by reviews concerning the lack of numbered bags and was nearly put off from purchasing this model. That would have been a big mistake!I only started modelling in lockdown and have so far completed several Star Wars helmets, the Fiat & Vespa - all look amazing! I am now building a supercar collection and started with the Porsche (before I move to tackling the Lamborghini and Ferrari).I have kept all parts in their bags and whilst initial progress was much slower than previous sets whilst getting used to what parts were in which bags you quickly get familiar and find most pieces with little trouble. Indeed I am actually finding the additional challenge very rewarding - it takes a bit longer which is good (I have to pace myself anyway to prevent me completing sets too quickly) and I suspect numbered bags may seem too easy after this.Admittedly I’m not far into the build (step 120 of 504) but the lack of numbered bags is already no problem and it should get easier still as the number of pieces remaining reduces. So if like me you have concerns then I’d recommend you just go ahead and buy/try - it’s already a fabulous build and I can’t wait to complete and move on to the larger sets.

I’ve read many mixed reviews on this set. But we all have different tastes in aesthetics. I got this set sealed at a great price. I really enjoyed the challenge of opening all of the unnumbered bags and sorting pieces in groups. I will say you need some space for this build. I always build on our dining room table and I needed most of it. I put all matching pins and small parts in small containers that have lids for keeping things together when I wasn’t building. In all honesty, after spending a couple of hours sorting and grouping parts together…the build actually went faster than usual. I’m thinking it’s because I wasn’t opening a # bag every step and arranging parts during the build. This build was fun. In all honesty, after spending a couple of hours sorting and grouping parts together…the build actually went faster than usual. I’m thinking it’s because I wasn’t opening a # bag every step and arranging parts during the build. This build was fun. Overall the car is much sturdier than my recent Ferrari 488 GTE build. I watched numerous videos on how to do the lower suspension mod. But I used pieces I had and found a much easier way to achieve this with less parts. Anyone who understands Technic parts and has spares can find any number of ways to do this. It really does set the car off! I’ll be lowering my Ferrari 488 next. Yes, this set has 2 full sheets of stickers. But they really blend seamlessly into the build and give a very nice look to the finished car. I also tucked the big headlight covers under the front clip. Just looks a bit cleaner in my opinion. I recommend getting this set before it’s retirement this year. Whether you want one to build or store sealed, no doubt this sub 1600 piece set will grow in value. Prices have been climbing since it’s retirement was announced at online stores and other platforms. Part of its popularity is no doubt due to the unnumbered bags. But primarily because this car looks like a 2000 piece set. It’s large and wide. It just looks great. Highly recommend this set!
