The previous model and all I have read makes me want this D-lux 8 a lot. This delivery delay feels a whole lot like a similar one east of Germany. I'm surprised the German mindset would allow this delivery situation to happen. Hoping for a rapid recovery.

The Leica D-Lux is the perfect travel point and shoot camera. Compact, lightweight, incredible optics, outstanding build quality.

That's exactly what I expected: a tiny compact well-built body, with an amazing quality zoom lens, that's fast, practical - and why not - very beautiful. I just received mine from B&H yesterday (after a lonnnng wait, for the record I ordered it at same day it was announced back in May 23rd....) and I am super excited to play over the weekend. Picture quality for the few pictures taken is outstanding !!

Good ergonomics for my hands. I've tried the smaller Sony XV cameras but the buttons and grip make it somewhat difficult to use. The C-Lux grip feels good for my small hands and buttons are well laid out. The focus is a little soft on the long end but it is great to have such a huge range of zoom in a fairly compact camera.
I was hopeful that this could reasonable replace my SLR based on quality of photo. While the waulity is very good, the form factor is the issue. This is ME, not the camera per se.
let’s just say this my iPhone 15 pro max can create much better photos then this in low light without any purple cast shooting at light source, in my opinion it’s all marketing here nothing going on, I give Leica 5 stars for the new design, layout and software, but I can say that YouTube reviews create a bit hype over this, save up a bit more $ and buy the Leica Q3 instead you will not be disappointed.
I greatly enjoyed using this camera. Was easy to figure out with a bit of u-tube help. For a small camera I got some very nice photos. Kids, dogs, flowers, cars and even a B52. I’ll just say it was a joy to use and I’ll probably buy one.First time I’ve done a reservation order as this is a brand new camera. Process was flawless. Very good communication on when it would be available. Thanks - Tim
Great camera in a small package. Leica quality all around in design and image capture capability.
I bought the Leica D-Lux 8 as a travel camera, something to be a bit more casual than carrying my Canon R6 + lenses. It's made photography more fun for me again, not caring so much about perfection and perfect photos and more about capturing random memories and immediately sharing them (as opposed to processing and editing the raws). It's a well-made camera, feels solid in my hands, intuitive controls, is quick to turn on and off, focuses well for the most part. Coming from a full mirrorless DSLR, there are of course some shortcomings with a point-and-shoot, but my D-lux 8 more than serves the purpose I bought it for. It's light and fits in my daily carry sling bag, and I can hand it to my wife or friends and they can easily take photos with it without feeling ... MoreI bought the Leica D-Lux 8 as a travel camera, something to be a bit more casual than carrying my Canon R6 + lenses.
