Lelit's Mara is the smallest espresso machine on the market with a commercial E61 grouphead. No need to wait for the temperature to heat up for making steam as with single boiler machines of similar size. The MaraX knows how to professionally adapt to diverse working conditions and different user requirements. The 1.8 litre Stainless steel AISI 316L boiler is insulated & saves energy. The E61-type group has a mechanical pre-infusion & is heated by thermosyphonic circulation through a double probe HX system (Patent pending). The PID temperature probe in the counterflow type heat exchanger is unique to the MaraX & enables a very precise control of the brew & group temperature. Choose from three settings. The super quiet slow ramp up pump ensures a great extraction with any roast. Spring-loaded professional taps Dual pressure gauge with zero adjustment. Stainless steel backlit On/Off switch An LED blinks when the Machine is in heating mode and is steady when the machine is ready. Another LED warns of low water in the tank and/ or tank not correctly inserted. The MaraX has a multi-directional Cool to Touch Steam Wand & looks that will fit in the most elegant surroundings. Extremely good coffee machine, excellent espresso, good flat white, important to use filtered water. 25 ppm soft water works. Use good quality beans, Keep clean… 20 to 25 mins to heat up for espresso. Monitor amount of ground coffee used…

Was really excited to get MaraX but she disappointed right from the start, could not get the water tank sensor to work, hence was already stuck at the very first step as the hydraulics could not be started. The water tank was full and inserted correctly. I sent the video of the problem to the dealer at Lelit.ch, but in the end they could not help me remotely, and asked that I bring to the machine from Basel to them in Otelfingen or they could send the courier for 50CHF ( 2-way ). I decided to return the machine to Galaxus completely, in principle I do not agree to pay 50CHF for the brand new machine to be couriered for repair. My interest in being a home barista has been affected by this experience.

The Lelit MarraX is an excellent choice when it comes to abilities out of the box + (almost) correct pressure setting. It has smaller footprint compared to other E61-machines, which is great if you don't want to kill your kitchen counter. It comes well equipped with tamper and three baskets. It was packed excellent for transport - a box in a box, which was in a box. minus: water drip tray is still flimsy even in V2; it should come with a naked portafilter out of the box; the hot water dispenser is a bit cramped on the right side.
Awesome machine, I love that you can brew espresso and steam milk at the same time.
