Do not buy this.Unlike all other 2-in-1 s in the world when you fold the case to put it in tablet mode the keyboard stays on! So it's completely useless in tablet mode while folded. Support was no help and had me power wash my duet for no reason only to tell me the next day that tablet mode was not supported. The solution they suggested was to open settings and manually disable the keyboard each time I want to fold the duet. Why even make a foldable case right? Then when requesting a return due to my disastifaction with their useless 2-in-1, they refused to accept a return because I was past the 30 day return window. It has a great screen, excellent form factory and exceptional battery life. About 4 months in though it started crashing 4-5 times every evening. Lenovo customer support had me powerwash it. It crashes during setup and than continues the behavior after it gets through set up just as before. They have me send it in for repair. This time thought the customer service rep started telling me drop damage or water damage wasn't covered so they might have to bill me to fix it. Mind you it had no damage previously so now all of the sudden they start with that line and attempt to upsell me a new warranty on a product they still haven't fixed. I decided not to send it back in because they hadn't bothered to fix it the first time, and lets be honest I felt like they were saying they would make up an issue and bill me for it this time. I have ran Lenovo products in the past but this was my first chromebook from them and will be the last. I will be shopping for its replacement and will pay the extra to go with a better unit.

Great Tablet/Computer replacement. This has replaced my old Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, and my old Microsoft Surface Pro 4 with one device.Only issues discovered, Microsoft does not play nicely with Google Chrome OS, as Microsoft will not allow Android Office Apps to be installed on Chrome OS (You can use MS Office from within Chrome OS "Windows" just not as a standalone app. A little annoying but more a case of getting used to it. Lets just say it runs differently on an Android Tablet). Also the native supplied Chrome OS Email is not easy to setup or on this device if you have multiple email accounts. Unlike Android, this device provides full OS and security updates for 8-9 years avoiding the built in obsolescence of Android tablets which only last 1-4 years, and the onboard software will only get better with time.

Been using my Duet 5 for a month, it is surprisingly well-built and perform better than I was expecting. tbh, it's no a huge different than using a light weight macbook.I would say the trackpad isn't as smooth and sometimes not as sensitive to my touch, but it is a touchscreen. I think Apple has got this part wrong. they say a laptop does not work well with a touchscreen. In fact, I've been using my Duet so much that whenever I go back to use my Macbook M1, I find myself trying to touch the screen to get through my tasks knowing that it is faster than trying move the cursor with the trackpad to hit buttons on the screen.Although the built is extremely nice, I would say there are two down side:1. the left/right side is very sensitive when holding in horizontal ... MoreBeen using my Duet 5 for a month, it is surprisingly well-built and perform better than I was expecting. tbh, it's no a huge different than using a light weight macbook.I would say the trackpad isn't as smooth and sometimes not as sensitive to my touch, but it is a touchscreen. Often i end up triggering something on the screen just cause my fingers are holding the edge. I find that the best way around it is to let the table rest on my full palm if i have to hold it.2. the keyboard does indeed attach well to the tablet, however, if you were to move it around with the keyboard open, the connecting points can slightly lose grip leading to the screen morphing inbetween laptop mode and tablet mode. It doesn't quite fully detach so that's good, but I wish Lenovo could design the connect point to be more flexible. It seems to expect the keyboard to remain at a specific angle when the tablet is not stationed. small issue though.Overall, I'd say it is a great buy at the price point that it is offered. I would definitely get another one of its future upgrades if the price is right.
I'm on day 3 of using this Chromebook and am fully locked out of my local data for the second time. When you change your Google password, the Chromebook insists that you enter your old password to unlock the device or all local data will be wiped. I had to change my password immediately because I had forgotten it, but was able to get in and start using it with the new password. The next day, when I logged in with the new password I was asked to enter my old password or have my local data wiped. No password I tried, including the new one, worked and I had to wipe everything that wasn't stored on the cloud. Super annoyed, but figured it was a user error and kept using the Chromebook. Regardless of the reason for this feature, it's not explained at all and having to set up a new device three different times is a nightmare. The quality of the computer doesn't matter when the operating system makes it unusable.
I purchased this device to try out for our STEM Lab and possibly for teachers. For our STEM lab we felt it would work well for our robotics units as it would be more mobile and it has a front and world facing camera. My only issue with them for the STEM Lab is that we are thinking of getting the Duet 3 for them as they are smaller and less expensive, but we are unable to find a protective case tor them that allows for the detachable keyboard. They would have to take the device out of the case in order to use the keyboard. They said they would mainly use it as a tablet, but being able to easily utilize the keyboard would be best. For our teachers we felt like the portability might nice as well as the front and world facing camera. The reports I have gotten so far from the teachers is that the wifi is not as robust as their current teacher device and that the wifi will either drop or pages take longer to load. I was able to find a protective case for the Duet 5 that allows easy detach/attachment of the keyboard. The teachers that have used it so far are not overly impressed with the Duet, but the STEM Lab is excited to use them with the students.
Good portable laptop with strong performance. I purchased this primarily for schoolwork; I needed a lightweight, portable laptop that I could bring with me to my job so that I could work on schoolwork on my breaks, as well as bringing it into class. Thus far, I've been impressed. It's solid, and has reliable internet connectivity (more reliable than my phone!). Additionally, I carry it in my backpack while I'm biking and taking the bus, and even with a protective sleeve, it feels like virtually no weight. My schoolwork weighs more than my laptop.I hesitate to give 5 stars to any product that's not mindblowingly amazing, hence my 4 star rating. My schoolwork weighs more than my laptop.I hesitate to give 5 stars to any product that's not mindblowingly amazing, hence my 4 star rating. There have been some things I wish were a little easier to adjust, such as the magnetic keyboard. Sometimes it's hard to go between tablet mode and laptop mode, and the screen sometimes gets stuck in a black screen for a few minutes afterwards. It's also not necessarily easy to 'deploy' the Chromebook, the magnetic 'case' on the back can be folded out to prop up the screen. It's difficult to deploy without messing with the screen or pulling off the magnetic case entirely. I do wish it had more ports for accessories, but the bluetooth connectivity seems solid. All in all, as far as computers go, this is a good quality one. My feedback primarily stems from having many types of electronics over the years, of varying ease of use. I'm a graphic designer, writer, and student, so I've used nearly everything imaginable. Therefore, the Chromebook is a solid choice for a portable laptop that has the capability for digital notetaking and a long battery life.
I've been working in education my entire life, and have always focused on technology. I have mostly hated school Chromebooks. They're cheap, and they feel cheap. The kids and teachers don't want to use them because it's an unpleasant experience. I wanted a Chrombook for myself so I did the work to find what I needed. This is the Chromebook schools need! 1. It has a little weight, and actually feels like a solid device. It does not feel like I'm going to break it by opening it and closing it. 2. The keyboard is right up there with most keyboards I like. They have just enough resistance as to not feel like the keys might pop off. 3. A backlit keyboard at this price is crazy! 4. Mine has the Intel chip, and that has to be a requirement for Chromebooks. I'm rarely waiting for anything. Chrome takes a lot of resources, and the right about of RAM and the Intel chip, makes it work SO well! 5. The touch screen works as it should, and the lid is not too wobbly when touching it. BTW: The lid doesn't wobbly when I type like other Chromebooks! 6. The privacy slider for the web cam is an appreciated addition. 7. The speakers are functional. They are great, but they also aren't offensive. 8. If I was going to complain about anything, it would be the very cheap feeling and sounding click of the touch pad. However, I usually just tap to click, so I don't hear it that often.I really like this device. It's the first Chromebook, out of three I've owned, that I'll actually want to use. I wish schools would find this too!
I am 5 months down the track now with this Chromebook and very pleased with the device.
