I have always loved Lenovo products. Our church bought this laptop new for use in our children's ministry, directly from Lenovo. During the first week the hinges started making an odd sound. At 3 months, the hinges locked up and I was barely able to get the laptop open. This put pressure on the corners of the screen. At 4 months, the hinges locked completely and the bottom right corner of the screen broke where the hinge pushed through the screen upon opening, disabling the touch screen, and causing the lid to be almost completely detached from the base. I just learned after having my system for less than a year that it does not stream wirelessly. But it is supposed to be a business system. I was planning to do a work meeting by streaming the meeting to my TV so I could see better as the meeting is all-day, however, I just learned that streaming to a TV as your monitor which many organizations use now opposed to regular monitors is not allowed with this computer. Resolution is good for a 16" screen, but viewing angles are less good than expected for an IPS panel. The section housing the screen is metal, and feels solid though slightly too heavy. The bottom section is all plastic, lighter and a little creaky, and doesn't balance well with the screen section. When pushed it gets a little warm, but it's JUST warm, and not hot. I can hear the fans spin up, but as a background murmur. I've had it start up with a warning a few times as though it wasn't shut down properly, trying to go into diagnostics mode, but a restart allowed it to boot normally - something to monitor.This replaces a 2014 Dell XPS15 that was my business laptop. Build and design are a long was from the Dell, and also lower than my wife's S340 with all metal bodyshell and better keyboard. For the price it's acceptable.

This is my second Lenovo 2 in 1, the other being a Yoga 9i customized laptop. I also have two Lenovo AIO desktops, and the duet tablet which I bought as soon as it came out. I'm a Lenovo girl. This particular laptop is the perfect size for me. I love a bigger laptop. I love a number pad I love a good solid mouse pad that is not too sensitive and has space on either side for the hands that doesn't end up being hepatic touch and moving everything around when you don't intend that. I love - & will only buy - a lighted keyboard this lighted keyboard is bright enough I've seen contrary reviews it comes on when you begin to type if you toggle it on first it will dim and rebrighten and you can up the level or dim the level a little bit. My for some reason display has a battery output showing in the top right top corner and the minute I turn it on and unplug it it's 100 and within 1 minute it's 98 and it shows me about an hour and 40 minutes of time it makes no sense I thought I got a bad battery turns out I'm actually getting nine 10 hours of battery use in a full day of using both video and audio with other applications. I wish this was an EVO but it is Intel the processor is fast enough for general use I can have a number of programs running and nothing seems to bog down or lag. I would say immediately download and install your McAfee or whatever antiviral software you're going to be using and also I recommend lenovo's accidental plan and their care plan for the life of your computer. I love that a pen can be used I wish it had a garage for the pen I have not found it to work with my Lenovo pen, so I am still trying to figure that out. And one sweet spot I haven't seen anybody mention is that this computer has no w land not just Bluetooth but it has data built in. That's a big big benefit for this price point of a computer. I find myself using my little five eye more than my yoga just because I love the size I love the feel it's my go-to laptop right now and my yoga is going to be just carefully used for the business workings I need it for and this is going to be my everything else laptop. If you're looking for a great laptop at a really good price point you can't go wrong with this. The only downside is the 8 gig soldered and therefore not upgradable ram 16 would have been just right for this machine and 32 would be optimal. The big benefit is that it does have an SD slot lot of computer don't this has several USB has USB c it has audio Mic Jack which you're not finding in a lot of computers these days so it has a lot of the good things that are being eliminated that we have been used to having in our machines. Charging is very fast see charger awfully quick no complaints and like I said the battery does last a good deal of time you're going to get your days worth out of it and then you can charge it up lickity split. In my mind Lenovo makes the best two in ones. I think Lenovo is trying to give us everything that they can in this machine and keep the price low and still keep it sleek and beautiful. With the lighted keyboard the number pad the touch screen the pen capacity the WLAN several USB ports the seaport the SD slot the headphone mic Jack I don't see how you can go wrong. I gave it four stars only because I think 16 gigs of RAM for machine like this is necessary and I think that it should at least be upgradable if they're going to start it at 8g. And I wish it were Evo. Other than that it's a five-star machine especially for the price. So if you're on the fence and you're really looking for something grab it.

Compared to my 4-year old Dell XPS, I thought I'd have a much better experience with the Lenovo. I liked my Dell a lot, but the trackpad became very difficult to use (do they wear out?). On the Dell, it was very difficult to see the arrow on the screen as I tried to move it around, and I often resorted to just touching the touch screen to click buttons or place my cursor where I wanted it. The Lenovo is better on that score. But it has another nit that I absolutely hate. The clickable are on the trackpad is tiny. I don't know if it's the laptop or what, but working in images is slower than I'd like, and even when using a wireless mouse the response between mouse and laptop is slow. Maybe a hardware/software issue causing the response delay, but I would think a relatively powerful little PC laptop should be able to handle a wireless mouse (with new battery) without a lag.I do really like the numbers n the keyboard and the keyboard features. Very intuitive.

Never dropped or taken anywhere. The only damage was my greasy finger prints on the touch pad. One day I opened the laptop and the hinge failed. I found a screw stuck underneath the bezel, I tried to screw it back in but it was stripped. I still had 4-5 months on my basic warranty. I reached out to Lenovo and was told the damage would be considered my fault and therefore not covered. I bought this PC because it advertised 3 USB ports as well as and HDMI out port for an external monitor. 1 USB-C port and 2 USB-A ports. At the unboxing I discovered that the USB-C port is being used for the power supply making it unusable. There was a totally unused DC power connector that wasn't being utilized, and this would have required the purchase of an additional 65 watt universal power supply costing over $60. Stupidest thing I have ever seen. I had to return it and got a Dell laptop (cheaper) that had a real power adapter cable. This thing also turned itself on the moment that I opened the lid to look at the keyboard, and I had NOT touched the power on button yet. (Lenovo) please consider a rechargeable solution.I personally bought a mini dock with more x4 usb 3.1 and usb type c with charging on it and found everything I neededThe lack of display is the biggest downfall for a broader spectrum of utility, because of this external GPU capabilities are not there and onboard IO for have leaving two screens is limited.The fixes to these problems for the manufacturer and consumers:(Lenovo) add display to the usb type c or one of the usb 3’s(Consumer) buy a hdmi Y-splitter to have two screens. I suggest also buying touchscreen displays so you don’t loss that utility on extra screensThis machine does great and deserves great reviews, I have no issues with it that is worth not giving it a five star.My model also came with 16g of ram and these really should only come in 8g and 16g, the option for 4g at this point shouldn’t exist (Lenovo’s problem to fix) the min they should put in these should be 6g if they are going to be soldered but I really do think it should be lowest 8g, it’s literally only $40-50 for 8g stick of ram and $80-90 for 16g so it isn’t worth the cost of labor and manufacturing to still install/solder 4g sticks
I had this laptop for about 8-9 months before it started having problems. Before then, it was a joy to use. Fast processing, good memory, sensitive touchscreen. It was my daily driver for work and school and performed beautifully. After a few weeks, however, I started noticing a loud click whenever I opened the laptop. There weren't any signs that something was wrong, so I continued using it as normal.This continued for several months until, finally, I opened the laptop like I had many dozens of times previously only to find that the screen had popped out of its enclosure, exposing the internal wires and other hardware (see pictures). Since that time, the laptop can no longer be opened without the same thing happening. Also, there is clear picture distortion on the screen when this happens. Imagine having a laptop that works fine until you try to open it, at which point it literally comes apart. Frustrating. I can no longer take this computer anywhere because it busts open a little more each time I try to use it.To be clear, the laptop has never been dropped or received any impact beyond being placed gently on a table surface, as evidenced by the lack of any kind of scratches, dents, or scuff marks to the computer. Rather, this issue was caused simply by opening the laptop for normal use. Therefore, this problem appears to be due to a manufacturing defect. Perhaps some internal screw or piece of metal frame has broken under the "stress" of being opened.You might think that this is exactly the sort of thing that Lenovo's 1-year warranty is for. Unfortunately, you'd be wrong. When I contacted Lenovo's customer support, complete with photos, here is the response I received:"Upon checking on your issue, this kind of damage is something that we can consider as physical damage or an accidental damage on the computer. The current warranty entitlement of the machine registered appears to be a standard warranty only, which means it only covers the hardware failures on the machine. When a warranty is identified to be standard, it means it does not actually cover any kind of physical or accidental damage."If Lenovo considers opening their laptop a cause of "physical damage or accidental damage" to the computer, this speaks very poorly of its manufacturing quality. I have owned 4 previous laptops before this one (none from Lenovo), and all of those lasted at least 5-10 years, only being replaced due to their aging specs. I absolutely cannot recommend a laptop that breaks apart after being used for a few months.Recently, I checked the reviews of this laptop on website of the online retailer where I purchased it. They are filled with people saying they are having the exact same issue with the hinges. This is a known issue and Lenovo is apparently hanging its customers out to dry.
