Furthermore, the battery was advertised at 9 hours of use, but is more likely to get you 4-6 hours of use. This could be due to the need to have the screen bright due to the dimness. For a $1400 MSRP laptop I would expect the screen/battery to be at least a little more impressive. The charger included is not the USB-C rapid charge, so buyer beware. The keyboard also feels a little smaller than my 14" Dell E5470 I use at work. This makes switching between the two a little uneasy. I did not get to look at the laptop in person before purchasing, and may have decided otherwise had I known the slight variation in keyboard size. Nevertheless, I will endure.Overall I am happy with the laptop and I am sure it will perform adequately. But, do not disregard the screen and battery issues if this is impactful of your specific computer needs.

One of the most disappointing laptops and overpriced. Please don't get trapped by the Aluminium looks. My other laptop which is a 4 year old Macbook Air and my work computer, a X1 Yoga. All 3 computers use a 720P camera, however, the webcam on this Thinkbook is lacking in picture quality when compared to these other 2 computers. The image is grainy and far from clean. I changed the setting to HD mode and its not much better, if anything the image looks artificial. Given the price point, you have to expect that there will have to be cost cutting measures and it seems this is definitely one area. I wouldn't say its a deal breaker.I've noticed a couple weird issues that occur randomly which, I'll be honest, I'm not sure if its user error or if I'm just not used to the way this particular laptop behaves. There's been couple instances where I haven't been able to restart the computer because the powerbutton doesn't respond. It lights up but nothing happens. After waiting a minute or two, I can turn it on. When I go to wake it up after going into sleep mode while using an external monitor, it doesn't wake up. I have to open the laptop manually, wake it up, then close it back again. I've been using my external monitor with 4 other laptops including my work X1 Yoga and I don't have this issue with any of the other computers.Now onto the 2 reasons why I'm going to return this computer. First, there's a burnt out pixel on the screen. Again, based on the price point its entirely possible a lower quality screen hardware might be used, either way, this is unacceptable. Second, as I mentioned, I used this laptop connected to my external monitor using an HDMI cable directly connected to the laptop. Everything works great when I'm using the computer. When the laptop goes to sleep mode and I wake it up, the image on my external monitor goes haywire. The image is flickering, everything is fuzzy, etc. I can remedy this by disconnecting the HDMI cable and reconnecting it. I have to do this EVERY SINGLE TIME if I let the computer go to sleep mode. I've tried swapping the HDMI cable, updating the BIOS and GPU drivers (as instructed by tech support) and no resolution. Again, all the other laptops I've been using with the same HDMI cable and monitor have no issues.After speaking with tech support 3x, they advised to return it for a refund or exchange. I'm planning on exchanging this unit and hopefully will get one with no issues.

I would call this a "go blind" screen. After this disappointment, I went to look at Lenovo products in-store at BestBuy, and decided I won't ever go below 300 nits. Lenovo offers some amazing screens on its other laptops (Yoga C940, X1 Carbon, X1 Extreme, etc.) so I have no idea why they skimped on this otherwise excellent product.2) ANNOYING FAN NOISE. ... Things like the backlit keyboard and fingerprint scanner are a really great inclusion and help to boost productivity in those late night hours, as well as improve security, especially given in the world we live in.Cons:None that I can see.The unit performs well, looks great and is sure to be a hit with anyone seeking to combine the security and robustness of a business laptop with the premium feel of a high end purchase. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a unit that's light, fast, sturdy and aesthetically pleasing.

So, I did a lot of online research and decided the best fit for me was an Intel Core i7 processor, 16Gb Ram and a 512 Gb SSD. The other requirement was a good array of interfaces, as well as the usual USB ports I needed HDMI (because I have a big second screen), Ethernet (because I prefer not to overload WiFi), and SD (because I am a photographer. Screen and keyboard quality is great, the power saving features are really good and I like the fingerprint lock option. In all I am extremely pleased with my purchase and am sure it will serve me well for many years. My one and only minor beef is that the power supply connector is one I have never come across before and for various reasons I need three psu's so I have had to buy two more rather than re-using the vast collection of psu's I have from my previous two laptops and my wife's previous two, which all had a common connector. Manufacturers should standardise like most mobile phone manufacturers have, it would be much better for the environment.

This laptop is made of aluminum which definitely makes a difference for me when I compare it to the plastic laptops I have. I like the feeling of holding it and it seems very durable. It takes about 5 to 10 seconds to turn on everytime and I like that the fingerprint sensor is basically the same as the power button so I only have to press one button. It doesn't allow you to unlock your laptop by scanning your face but you never really need to since it has a fingerprint sensor. There is a software feature on this laptop(probably only offered on lenovo products) called Conservation Mode which only charges the laptop to 60% to preserve the battery over time which I use all the time since I constantly plug it in for better performance. Conservation Mode does not work with Rapid Charge though. The audio was a bit tinny when I first used my laptop but I updated the audio driver from device manager and it sounds decent now. I still use separate speakers most of time. I also connect it to two FHD displays, speakers, and a wired keyboard and mouse using a 12-in-1 usb-c hub. I need the usb-c hub for an ethernet port too because this laptop does not have an ethernet port. Unfortunately, I cannot use the hub for pass-through charging since the usb-c port on the laptop does not feature charging. Another thing I want to point out is that I bought my laptop on lenovo.com and it said it would be shipped the next day but it got delayed. I was unable to find a new estimated shipping date anywhere so I called lenovo customer service a few days later and they told me I would receive an email with my new estimated shipping date within 48 hours. I did not receive any email about this so I called again a few days later and a new representative told me that he would notify the shipping company to ship my product as soon as possible and I would receive an email within 48 hours. I got the same response essentially, except that I actually did receive an email this time. It was shipped later that day and arrived 5 days later. Lenovo customer service isn't the best but I am very happy with my laptop nonetheless.
