AMD is a disappointment

I recently replaced my Intel T14 for a new model with the AMD chip. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. While my previous laptop could handle data crunching in various application with hundreds of thousands of lines with little interruption, the AMD model made me check the specs multiple times to make sure I'd gotten what I ordered. If you're looking for a laptop that's light weight and well designed for basic tasks, you'll find this model a good option. If you're looking for a laptop to do data analytics, don't waste your time or money.

I've had this laptop for about 16 months and has a couple really annoying flaws. At least twice a day the Bluetooth stops functioning. I have to go into Windows settings and disable then enable Bluetooth. Then the WiFi connection becomes unstable for a few days. I still prefer Lenovo over Dell though.

Good laptop, not as good as previous models

Quality laptop with the typical T series features. However, I dislike the new "black" case, which is more of a dark grey. I much preferred the older pure black design. The case also feels less robust than previous models; My old T450 gives this a run for its money. Battery life is OK @ 4hrs when compared to other laptops running similar applications that get 2-3hrs.

Great laptop, disappointing customer service!
27 September 2023

I've had several laptops from Lenovo over the years and been pleased with them all. Generally, they've all set up problem-free, straight out of the box. I'd highly recommend the T14 too, however, a word of warning about Lenovo customer service....when you are handing over money to buy a laptop, someone will be there to help you in minutes, but if there's a problem you're on your own! Customer service will tell you everything is sorted out so you leave positive feedback on the survey at the end of the call and then...........nothing. This happend on multiple occasions. I couldn't use my new Premier on-site warranty either and ended up paying a firm to fix a brand new machine as, in the end, I gave up. It's now working perfectly and I'm really pleased with it but ... MoreI've had several laptops from Lenovo over the years and been pleased with them all. Great laptop, except for the Ctrl key position
30 October 2023

The laptop is great, except for the position of the Ctrl key which is not in the standard place for US-English keyboards. I wish the Ctrl key was in the correct place. It's been hard to familiarize myself with this non-standard keyboard layout. Even with the App that allows to assign the Fn key to be the Ctrl makes things confusing as it is always printed as Fn.

Lightweight and powerful
1 October 2023

I haven’t used it to its full capacity yet but so far it has been awesome. I built mine in order to get the amount of ram , processor and ssd that I needed for gis work. I think it turned out cheaper than looking for an already assembled one because the graphics card is usually upgraded which I did not need. It’s also very light weight compared to others like it

T14 Gen4 opinions
5 September 2023

My T14 gen 4 Intel is an utter piece of garbage. Thank you Lelnovo for letting me write this review; The CPU Fan subassembly spins constantly, the machine does not sleep properly. The BIOS firmware that shipped with the laptop, v1.35 was buggy. I had to downgrade to v1.32. Post-sales support is utter garbage.

ThinkPad is my aesthetic.
16 October 2023

The computer is EVERYTHING Thinkpad. Its has an excellent feel, touchscreen, keyboard, and the little red cursor in the middle is my a e s t h e t h i c.No, but actually the function lock is supremely functional and the screen quality allows me to view things at my typical preference on windows (100% zoom on windows and 85% on the chrome browser). The computer is a beast, but also heavy. It also doesnt bend 360 degrees into tablet mode. If you want either of those as an option this is not the computer. If you want an exceptional computer and weight and tablet mode isnt a must, PLEASE buy.

Great laptop! Silent, fast and long lasting battery. The AMD processors is a beast and the integrated GPU is enough to handle some gaming as well.
