Lots of research went into my choice of laptop. Though my search was narrowed because I require a numeric keypad I went with the ThinkPad T570 and got a great laptop and all around solid machine!Used for about a month now with no problems, quick performance and some pretty cool customization such as the ability to swap the control key. Speakers are very loud by themselves and suit my needs well. Keyboard feels great to type on however I’m still getting used to the home and end button being where they are. Battery life has been excellent for even more dense tasks. Glad I went the ThinkPad route. Best part is that it arrived within 24 hours of ordering even though I did not opt for 1 day shipping. Very impressed!

I bought this machine on 11/24. I bought it together with Office 2016. First think I noted was that Office 2016 was not activated. I tried all means and could not activate it. A call to the customer service. They created a service ticket, saying it was Microsoft's problem and Microsoft will be in touch with me. This hasn't happened after two weeks of wait.In an attempt to solve that issue, I thought upgrading the system to Win10 will enable me to associate my T570 with my Microsoft account. I requested for and obtained USB recover media for win10. But the upgrade was a complete failure. Technical support promised me to ship me another win10 USB drive. Last resort. If you are interested in this machine, be aware of the difficulties with upgrading to win10.

It has roughly the same real world performance of my 4 year old t430. The 7600U is not powerful enough for the price and size of the machine with the machine hanging when there are many tabs and two browser windows. The 940mx also isn't very powerful but works perfectly for its intended use.All in or the machine should suite most individuals and it is a lot more durable and reliable to compared to other brands. The quality has increased drastically from my first machine to the one i am using now

Great solid and stiff chassis, comfortable / ergonomic keyboard with decent travel on the keys, extremely good battery life. Extremely fast and no issues, glitches, or failures to date (2 months approx.). I can already tell this should be a long-lasting machine. Trackpoint and trackpad are very comfortable. Material on the lid is soft and good to the touch. I am extremely happy with this laptop and hope to have it for 8-10 years. I have a couple minor negatives to mention: the sound card is not great, just average (this is not a multimedia-focused laptop). The keyboard layout with the arrow keys near the pgup and pgdn keys is taking me a long time to adapt to - - but this is probably how Thinkpad keyboards have been laid out for decades. The keyboard layout with the arrow keys near the pgup and pgdn keys is taking me a long time to adapt to - - but this is probably how Thinkpad keyboards have been laid out for decades. And lastly, the screen resolution is so high, that you must run Windows with all the text re-scaled, otherwise due to the high pixel density, text looks tiny in native resolution. This is probably the case with 80% of higher-end laptops since about 2016 and is probably a perk to most people since it makes all the visuals on the screen far crisper, but if you are used to older, pixelated screens, it takes a while to get used to.
I debated between the older model T570 and the newer T580. I went with the T570 mostly because of the great price. I have found SSD's a must have, could probably use a little more memory but performance is adequate for my needs. Setup was a breeze although I was annoyed with the Microsoft Launcher being installed on my phone - fortunately it was easy to delete but that's Microsoft not necessarily Lenovo. The USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 port worked perfectly in connecting to an external monitor without any additional configuration. This was another feature I was looking for that no other laptops seem to have which is the capability to drive 2 external monitors without the need for a docking station. I have had much success with the Thinkpad line and hope this trend continues.
It looks like the T570 has been discontinued and I was able to get a good price on it through my university's (where I work) tech store. So far my wife loves the computer. The keyboard is great, except she has to get use to the layout in that there's a full numeric keypad on the right so she does not position her hands smack in the middle of the computer. But within the letters and trackpad everything is great. The screen is crisp, and she loves the speed (replacing a 7-year-old Thinkpad). My one star downgrade is because the removeable battery (there is an internal battery and a removeable battery) won't charge. Lenovo tech support is sending a replacement. I was told that it should have arrived by yesterday, and it still hasn't.By the way, I love that the tech ... MoreIt looks like the T570 has been discontinued and I was able to get a good price on it through my university's (where I work) tech store. So far my wife loves the computer. I brought this Lenovo T570 laptop for my wife after extensive research. I was primarily looking for speed and that is exactly what I received from its solid state processor. The $729.00 price from (eBay Lenovo), with free shipping trumped what others were selling this unit for, in fact fact no other laptops came close in price compared to this unit when comparing apples to apples.long story short she seem to be very satisfied so far with its performance, so this is great for me, why, happy wife happy life.off the top of my head the unit specs are15.6 full HD250 gig2.5-3.5 with turbo processor (solid state)windows 10 professionaltwo batteries- up 27 hoursthat just by recollection.I love Lenovo and i'm currently writing on my G770 which is about ... MoreI brought this Lenovo T570 laptop for my wife after extensive research. I bought this machine as a gift to myself for the winter holiday and I am so glad I did. The machine is fast, sleek, and well-crafted. It is sturdy and has great tactile feel for typing. I use this laptop for personal use. When I was shopping for a laptop, it had to include a side number keypad, an accurate trackpad, a high quality screen. and a fast processor. When I came across this machine I was over the moon, and it continues to deliver great performance now that I have had it for a few months. I also value this machine's great battery life and fingerprint technology. My only critique would be to make the right and left clicks on the trackpad (when I am not using my Lenovo wireless mouse) more responsive or make the click area more pronounced. I was looking around for a new machine to replace my old work laptop (~9 years old) that had upgraded specs, a similar size (15"), a number of USB ports, HDMI, ethernet, as well as a dedicated number pad keyboard, and the T570 has been a good decision. The box the computer shipped in was says 'Thinkpad' all over the front side, so if you have concerns over "porch piracy" perhaps have this sent to your place of business or to a package locker if possible. For being a 15" I was expecting it to feel bulky (analogous to my old laptop) but it's rather the opposite, fairly thin profile and light, much easier to haul around on a plane or in a backpack. The power cord appears as a USB plug, but can go in either direction, with a small power cable footprint and even velcro ... MoreI was looking around for a new machine to replace my old work laptop (~9 years old) that had upgraded specs, a similar size (15"), a number of USB ports, HDMI, ethernet, as well as a dedicated number pad keyboard, and the T570 has been a good decision. For being a 15" I was expecting it to feel bulky (analogous to my old laptop) but it's rather the opposite, fairly thin profile and light, much easier to haul around on a plane or in a backpack. The power cord appears as a USB plug, but can go in either direction, with a small power cable footprint and even velcro straps to hold the cables together. Battery life seems pretty good, I don't really have to think about draining it out if I'm just plugging along in word processing, spreadsheets or data analysis. I tend to use a mouse, so I was able to disable the trackpad when a USB mouse is plugged in, which I had issues with on previous machines making typing for extensive periods frustrating. I used the trackpad and it works well, is very responsive to scrolling with multiple finger gestures (I very much dislike when the gestures don't work!), which is a very nice feature. Initially the function keys on the T570 were not ideal, as the "Fn" key takes the usual place of the 'Ctrl' key, and the special function keys are the default press other than the F1, F2 etc. It through me off, but there are options to switch the positions of the Ctrl and Fn keys, as well as require a Fn + F1, F2 etc press to activate the special functions like mute, and WiFi - which is more to my preference, and the switch was seamless and is remembered even after the machine is turned off. The SSD is super fast, the fingerprint recognition is also very fast as an option to open the laptop without a password. There are also some Lenovo specific operating options for battery management and screen color, wifi security that are very useful as well. The graphics card functions well for manipulating 3D imagery, doesn't really struggle with applying the dedicated vs integrated graphics engines to various programs.Overall, this machine was a very good selection for a convenient and powerful laptop with good screen size and resolution (especially at the price I got it), and can deal with pretty much any normal thing you'll come across. The smaller (256 GB) SSD that I have leaves something to the imagination, but I don't have an issue connecting an external drive for larger files or storage, handling music or anything like this. I would rather have a mobile, light and speedy machine that occasionally I connect to external storage for various tasks, as compared to something with a standard larger (and heavier) HDD.
It was time to replace my older laptop for something faster, sleeker and lighter weight that offered improved functionality. Besides a rather techy husband I also relied on recommendations from a nephew who also doubles as an IT guy. I have been hearing his Lenovo recommendations for more than five years since he bought his first Lenovo laptop. His second one came in the last year but it was never meant to replace the first one because that one is still working like new. How could I not take notice? I am now a first time Lenovo owner and I couldn't be happier with my choice. The non-glossy screen allows me to work outside in the summer months. The Solid State Drive is a great benefit for someone who has antiquated and rather slow internet service in the Colorado ... MoreIt was time to replace my older laptop for something faster, sleeker and lighter weight that offered improved functionality. I love having a numbers pad and the battery life has changed the way I travel. I get more done because of it. I could easily admit to being in Lenovo Love.
