I really enjoyed typing on this laptop, so much, that I would literally play typing games to use the keyboard. Really its on a tier of its own. The performance was really good, did not notice any lag at all tbh. Keep in mind the cpu was an AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 5850u. Now the screen color accuracy was not the best, but that's not what this laptop is for. If ur looking to video edit/whatever work that requires screens to be color accurate 100% then this screen sadly isn't for u. I gave this laptop a 4 stars because the unit I received had a gap between the right side of the screen and the actual panel itself. It was making a sticky noise. I might have kept it if this defect did not originally come with the laptop. I was able to return it easily with no hassle, just keep in ... If anything, you can try contacting their phone number and go through with customer service. Happy Shopping.

Previously, I was running at T430 with dock and the graphics card would have a melt down when I would take the computer off the dock and go from multiple displays to just the integrated display.By far, of all the laptops I have used in the past (IBM, Panasonic Toughbook and HP elitebook), this T14 is the best computer I have ever owned. Adding the docking station made it just that much better. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the T14 to anyone that needs a performance computer.

I bought this laptop to be a Linux laptop. The specs are great and I really like it, but I'm disappointed that I had to pay for a Windows license that I don't need in order to get an AMD processor. Why no Linux option for the T14 AMDs? So far I've tried 5 different Linux distributions on it and they've all worked fine with only the Realtek wifi card requiring any effort to get working. If I could have ordered it with Linux installed I would have given it 5 stars. It runs much cooler than the MacBook Pro I use at work. The keyboard is excellent for a laptop keyboard. The speakers are only so so, but not bad for a laptop. It feels sturdy and solidly built. Another USB-C wouldn't hurt, especially if it could be on the right hand side.
I've had several laptops from Lenovo over the years and been pleased with them all. Generally, they've all set up problem-free, straight out of the box. I'd highly recommend the T14 too, however, a word of warning about Lenovo customer service....when you are handing over money to buy a laptop, someone will be there to help you in minutes, but if there's a problem you're on your own! Customer service will tell you everything is sorted out so you leave positive feedback on the survey at the end of the call and then...........nothing. This happend on multiple occasions. I couldn't use my new Premier on-site warranty either and ended up paying a firm to fix a brand new machine as, in the end, I gave up. It's now working perfectly and I'm really pleased with it but ... MoreI've had several laptops from Lenovo over the years and been pleased with them all. I bought this laptop just so I had something to work with when I'm away from my desktop. I didn't realize how far laptops have gone since I bought my last one 9 years ago. ThinkPads are usually considered mostly for business use, but I believe it has plenty of utility for personal use.The build quality is phenomenal with the exception of the keyboard. The keyboard is not bad, but the quality of ThinkPad keyboards has been on a steady decline and is now comparible to your typical laptop keyboard.
Pros:Full windows system that runs all desktop programs and still offers touch and pen friendly experience.Windows starts to support Android apps, that's a big future for this kind of 2 in 1s.Reasonable battery life, it's enough to carry out my daily work without worrying too much about battery. With windows screen cast it can work as a secondary screen for another more powerful machine.Keyboard can be detached and the screen has it's own support to stand. I really feel this product suit various scenarios. It can work as a fully functional laptop, powerful tablet, and monitor.Cons:8GB RAM is the biggest bottleneck especially considering it has a powerful i7 CPU. I really feel this product suit various scenarios. It can work as a fully functional laptop, powerful tablet, and monitor.Cons:8GB RAM is the biggest bottleneck especially considering it has a powerful i7 CPU. Windows 11 has specific user experience design for mobile devices but not performance. OS takes more than half of RAM and if you run something content heavy like a sound library for music making. It's going to be slow. The worst thing is, you cannot upgrade the RAM unless you change the motherboard.Pen is great but the pen holder is very inconvenient. It's attached to the right side of screen, and the pen completely blocks the volume buttons. Not even to mention if you use the screen vertically you would need to completely unplug the pen holder. The keyboard assumes that you use the tablet horizontally. You can only attach it to the bottom of the screen and cannot use wirelesly. I feel this doesn't match the design flexibility the tablet already has. If the user wants to use a vertical screen and with keyboard, then an additional wireless keyboard would be required. After all I feel this is a device worth to get. It has great flexibility to suit your different workflows and the price is better than surface. If they allow RAM upgrade it would become even more desirable and carry more diverse tasks.
It's nice and light. Getting used to touch controls; laying hand on screen while drawing, sensing needs to be turned off in settings menu.Commercial Vantage got the majority of the drivers, Winups got the rest.Occasionally will get warm after extended use, but understandably so. Battery life is surprisingly long for a tablet.Attaches to keyboard easily; sometimes writing keyboard does not show up, or keyboard will not work: put in keyboard while turning on to access kb. Touch pad is slow. Screen is slow while drawing. It's not the program; it does the same while browsing the web or clicking on items.
I use laptop heavily. In addition to browsing, emailing, on-line purchasing, I use laptop to do my computational work, to analyzing data and to write manuscripts. I have gone through many laptops, my most recent one being a Lenovo ThinkPad T480. I like it because the legendary keyboard is easy to the fingers.Recently, I need a tablet large enough for me to read my music scores using MobileSheets Pro app. I have researched many options. iPad Pro and Microsoft Surface Pro 8 are good, but are beyond my budget. Others, including Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 and Asus Vivobook Slate 13, have weak CPU and small storage space. Then around Christmas time this ThinkPad X1 Table Gen 3 was on sale. It has a fast CPU (i7-8650U), 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage space. The storage space can easily hold tens of thousands of my music scores.I ordered this tablet on Lenovo website, and a few days later I received it. The tablet comes with a detachable keyboard, and an active pen. The keyboard is of high quality, resembling my ThinkPad T480 keyboard. It is much better than that of a Microsoft Surface. The typing experience is very good. The screen is bright, with high resolution (QHD+, 3000 x 2000 IPS). The Tablet is super fast when I scroll through my music scores. There is a microSD card slot, thus I can store my music scores in a 128BG card without use the SSD space of the tablet. The tablet is relative light, weighing a little less than 2 lbs. I can put it on a music stand when I play in my orchestra. To summarize, in my first two weeks of usage, I am very happy with this tablet.
I am not loving this machine as I anticipated. I did ALOT of research before replacing my 10 yr old Toshiba Satellite/Win 7 that still works just with an external keyboard. I have worked with other touchscreens laptops and Win 10 and tablets. I decided to go with this unit for ultraportability, I am a mariner, and needed it as functional as possible for being as lightweight/portable as possible. First off I am blown away that I can't even tell if it is charging externally, and even the icon on the screen isn't instantly informative. Response time is NOT what I expected for the high specs on this unit. Because of the travelling I do I needed it to be able to get it's own internet signal and I called multiple times to confirm this model does that. When it arrived I ... When it arrived I find it has a slot to put the SIM card but does not have a "cellular" option under the network and internet option in settings, even though there is a mobile plan program option loaded on the computer. I have major issues with the touchpad being too sensitive. I have adjusted it to the lowest setting and turned off most of the multi-finger options and still have issues of it sensing a touch when there is none, or not sensing it when I am repeatedly giving it a command. This is my first Thinkpad [and probably only] and the problem I have with the red trackball is the opposite of the pad. Both can be so frustratingly faulty, that then when I also get the touchscreen alternating between too sensitive or not reading some touches, then I just have to turn off the computer and walk away. Hence, I have not got much accomplished with this unit thus far. I have spent some time researching on forums, but I am more than annoyed that I have to spend time to do this as I don't have all the time in the world to search. Couple these issues with the fact that Microsoft email is slow as molasses no matter how many times I reset it, and I find this computer on the verge of non functional. Meanwhile the backup battery I purchased at the same time came dead on arrival and it has taken almost a month for a replacment to arrive. So far I've only had time to charge that and then put it on the 6% battery on the laptop to which it only charged to 85% and then started clicking....no lights. Don't get me started as to the run around I had to get someone who could actually give me the customer service to replace that. [it goes thru the Ideapad department-go figure] I am very close to returning everything I purchased. If I can get fast and direct effective solutions to the above from Lenovo then I'll reconsider. Cheers.
