Excellent build quality with zero flex in the chassis and sturdy hinge with no wobble. The smooth, rounded edges and corners are also nice. I love the tall 16:10 aspect ratio as it fits more readable content and is a larger canvas to draw on. The OLED display is bright and vibrant with deep blacks as expected. My main gripes are that the touchscreen dot matrix pattern (I assume that's what it is) is slightly visible on the screen, especially when displaying whites and reds. Note that this dot matrix pattern is only visible up close looking at the screen a few inches away, at normal viewing distance the dot pattern is invisible. But it sort of negates the point of the high 2.8K resolution in the first place. Another gripe is the included pen. The pen resistance on ... The pen resistance on the screen feels inconsistent with it feeling like there is high friction on the majority of the screen, but in a few areas the pen smoothly glides. I also wish the pen was rechargeable instead of replacing AAAA batteries. And I dislike how a USB port is rendered useless as the plastic accessory included is to be attached to the port in order to hold the pen (wish they used magnets to secure the pen to the laptop). Overall, with the few small gripes, this is an incredible laptop for the money and I'm glad I got it on a boxing day deal!

I have tested a lot of laptops over the past month. I tried the bigger brother to this machine and a couple other brands. I needed a laptop that was light enough I could watch videos and stream in bed but powerful enough to do work when I need to. I have a Pro fruit computer for the serious heavy lifting but I need a decent windows computer for work. I am going to say if a bigger screen and more performance are important than the 16" 7i might be more your thing. Now to this laptop. The 14" size is perfect for portability while this unit still feels very solid. It is not an ultra premium laptop but it is really close in terms of materials and build quality. No flexing or creaking anywhere on this device. The build quality is top notch. This is the perfect business laptop or personal laptop. I love the blue color as well. Performance: If you are used to quad core Intel processors this is going to be a decent upgrade. This 1255u i7 has 10 cores with 2 performance cores. There is a 1260p which is in the 16" and it is about 15% more powerful in multicore. However this 10 core is no slouch. It has a good single core performance and very good multicore performance. It blows tiger lake away or 11th gen intel. With 16GB ddr5 ram and a pci-4 samsung ssd you get some serious performance out of this laptop. For a small machine this is an excellent performing device. The screen was a concern of mine because I had one of these models and the larger one and the screen was yellow and had a weird oil slick like texture that was really distracting while the 16" didn't. I returned it and got a second 14" and it is perfect. Color balance is excellent. It is bright enough and I like bright screens. I was worried the 300 nits would not be enough but I was wrong. Granted I keep the brightness all the way up but at 300 nits it won't bother the battery. It has 2.5k resolution which is my favorite. It is better than full hd almost like a retina screen but not 4k which usually kills battery and performance. The screen is great! The keyboard is very good. The keys are very comfortable to type on and accurate. Backlit as well. Lenovo makes good keyboards! A glass trackpad. It is a little loud and clicky but being glass makes it feel so much better. It is centered as well. Love the trackpad! Speakers are surprisingly good. They get loud and have good sound quality and bass. You can stream videos and hear everything with no problem and dolby atmos gives a great surround sound. Really love the speakers! Battery life. It is too early to tell but with a 15 watt processor and 300 nits 14" screen should be very good. The battery inn this unit is 71 watt hours which is a really large battery in a 14" device. I am expecting excellent battery with 12th gen processor with 8 efficiency cores. Overall this is an elegant and understated laptop with solid all aluminum construction. An excellent blue finish that resists fingerprints! You can dial up the performance or dial it down with Lenovo Vantage app. You can adjust the color balance of the screen if you want a warm color or colder color. I don't think you will find a better premium feeling 2 in one laptop at a better price than BestBuy. I am very happy and feel this laptop will last several years because of how well it is made and how great it looks. It has the solid feeling of a fruity computer and very good performance and decent specs at a fraction of the price. If you like a 14" portable quality laptop with a great screen, speakers, trackpad, keyboard and performance than look no further!

I purchased this laptop during the Black Friday discounts. For the price, it is in excellent laptop. I have used Thinkpads for the past 30 years, so I'm not that happy with the keyboard - key fell is good (compared with other laptops in this price range), but not great (compared with Thinkpad). Also getting used to not having dedicated Home and End keys is a pain, but in fairness, I have been spoiled by the excellence of Thinkpad keyboards for 3 decades! Build quality is outstanding! I think the SSD in this laptop is actually the slower one compatible with PCI 3.0. The "Performance" PCI 4.0 ones on high-end Thinkpads are noticeably faster. The i7-1255U is plenty quick and the laptop does not heat up at all. I chose this due to reviews reporting heating issues with the Gen 7 X1 Yoga. Why pay for a more powerful processor if it has to be throttled back? The lower TDP processor has excellent performance for basic productivity work. I do not use this for video-editing, or more CPU/GPU intensive applications, so it is perfect for my needs. Compared with other laptops in this form-factor, this unit has plenty of ports - kudos to Lenovo for not skimping on ports. I purchased a Lenovo Travel Hub with the laptop, but it is really for convenience of connections, not for lack of ports. Unfortunately, I cannot review the inking because even though it's been nearly a month, Lenovo has not shipped the stylus - will update once I have used it. Overall, this is an excellent laptop with great features, good performance, and a great Black Friday price. Highly recommend this model.

Purchased in store, looking for a portable 14in device. I feel like the Lenovo 7i fit the spot for me. Pros: -Amazing build quality in the ~1000 dollar price range (or less), it feels so much more solid than its contemporaries in the 14" space. Some can be had for cheaper, but that will show in the build quality. -Lovely screen. It may not be OLED or high refresh, but it is sharp. Also, power efficient where OLED and high refresh screens are not. -Battery Life: I would not be surprised to see 8-10 hours of use out of this device. -Keyboard: Lenovo kind of has a reputation from their ThinkPad line for having amazing keyboards, and that DNA spills over to this Yoga as well. Keys are solid, and it is tactile. I found typing on it almost instantly second nature. -Has a ... MorePurchased in store, looking for a portable 14in device. Keys are solid, and it is tactile. I found typing on it almost instantly second nature. -Has a camera lens slider. Has a fingerprint scanner. Charges via USB-C. A full size HDMI, micro SD, type-A USB, and headphone/mic jack are included. Cons: -I do wish it had more than 8GB of ram for the price, but so far this has not been an issue for me as this machine has been used for basic web browsing, video streaming. -Would still like at least a 90hz display. Other thoughts: -The audio from the 4 speaker array is quite impressive for such a thin device. It cannot compete with larger, thicker gaming machines, but the included Dolby software is a "you have to tinker with this!" bit of kit. Tune the EQ and you'll be surprised at what it can do. -The U-series Intel processor is plenty fast. I've set the Lenovo software and Windows power modes to their most efficient settings and this thing is silent, cool, and still very responsive for everyday browsing/media consumptions. HWinfo64 reports between 1-6 watts of CPU consumption in these modes while doing basic tasks like running a few tabs/streaming some video. If you need more performance, just change modes. It will heat up but the fan is relatively quiet. And the U-series Intel chip still has a lot of processing power behind it when needed. -Bloatware seems minimal.
Did a lot of research on 2 in 1 devices and the differences between the $600 and the $1,000 models. Selected the Yoga 7i 14" model for the following: 1. The i7-1255U processor is fast and can handle almost any workload. 2. The i7 processor is idling the majority of the time and the CPU fan is not making any noise 99% of the time. It was barely noticeable when doing a Windows 11 major update. Nothing like the fan noise from a competitors notebook which is so loud, it can be heard by others on phone calls. 3. It has the newest and fastest USB, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 6E ports. Just upgraded my home router to a Wi-Fi 6E capability, and this means the Yoga's Wi-Fi connection is on a dedicated Wi-Fi running close to 1Gb ethernet speeds. 4. It has a 14" 2.2K Touch, LED ... It has a 14" 2.2K Touch, LED Backlight display. The crispness of the images and colors are fantastic. The only drawback to this is when extending the display to my 24" monitors, they look like 640 RGB screens in comparison. 5. The 14" display and tablet size are great for portability around the house and still small enough that the weight is not an issue when sitting on the couch or out on the patio. 6. Price. It has 16 GB of memory, 1 TB SSD, great sound system in both laptop and tablet modes, all for $1,064. Lenovo offered this as a smoking deal on Black Friday and I have not seen anything with all of these features near this price since. In summary, I'm very pleased that I spent the extra money to get all of the capabilities of the Yoga 7i 14" with the i7 processor and would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a 2-1 that will not need to be replaced for a 3-5 years.
Lenovo Yoga 7i is an amazing laptop. I got it customized with all the bells and whistles from having the colour of the laptop stone blue to i7 12th gen P chip! It took 6 weeks, but worth the wait. The Laptop is really fast, it has face recognition and finger print login.. at this price point Lenovo really given a lot. I went with OLED 400nits screen. This is a fab laptop, one of the best thing which i haven't seen this in other laptops (inc. Macs) is that this laptop self-starts from a shut down when you open the screen. No more pressing the power button. Now I have to mention this, the power button is on the right side panel and its very easy to sometimes press it by accident, the camera has a privacy shutter which is not easy to open and close. Lastly, the finishing of this laptop is really good, its full metallic feel is just great. The battery life is decent, but yes I have to charge it once a day which is fine. I am on energy save mode most of the time, as the laptop is fast as it is.. dont need performance mode. Another amazing thing, its fully touch screen. The value for money is 100% there, if you keep it well this laptop can last you for years. This is not a GAMING LAPTOP, causal gaming can be done but this laptop is purely for WORK in my opinion. Lastly, I always do this .. many times new laptops of every brand have jammed packed pre-loaded software's that slow the computer down. I removed them all and kept the important ones, for Yoga 7i software like Lenovo Vantage. In fact I ran malware scan and registry scan right from the start and found errors. So I fixed that from day one. Now it works 100%. Get it and enjoy
I bought this laptop a little over 3 months ago. It's a good looking laptop, works well(no hangups), video quality(2.2K) and color is awesome, 3:2 aspect ratio makes everything look bigger, awesome sound quality (the upwards facing speaker collect dust a little bit but not a problem). Had a little trouble at first finding the compatible stylus, but the lenovo e-color pen works well with this. BUT..... The hinge is very weak on the laptop. Within three months, the right hinge dropped down from it's original place. This caused the one side of the screen to be lower than the other and it kinda created a wobble to the laptop, since the screen supports the laptop when you tilt it back far enough. Initially when you create work request, it says five business days, then the customer service say 10 business days, but a month is too much. I think the thinkpad is a good alternative if u want a sturdier hinge, but if you want this specific one, be warned of bad customer service and hinges. What use is a aluminum body and good features, if the hinges the support those are weak?
One week of use - Base spec 14" model (i5 11th gen, 256GB SSD, 8GB ram). - Build The trackpad seems to have the same issue Dell has had in the past. One side of the trackpad can be pressed (on the top right) where it's not supposed to. When pressing in on the loose corner, it'll make a faint sound. The tactile produced by the loosened corner makes the trackpad feel much cheaper. This is issue is probably only in isolated cases since it was never mentioned in any YouTube reviews. Otherwise, the build quality is excellent everywhere else. The speakers are great but will get slightly muffled in tablet mode. The keyboard feels nice to type on and offers hotkeys to commonly used programs. However, skip/play/pause is notably missing on the 14" model. You have to use ... You have to use third-party programs to create custom hotkeys. - Display Color accuracy and viewing angles are great for an 8-bit panel. It's glossy, gets plenty bright enough for most scenarios, and has good blacks. In extremely well-lit conditions, however, the reflections become a nuisance. Due to a software feature meant to save battery life, you will see noticeable stair-stepping in the screen's brightness when switching between dark-colored and light-colored media. You can turn the feature off in Intel's Graphics Command Center (Windows Store App). Thus, the display is quite a bit better than most offers around its price range. - Bloatware There's not much bloatware, but the inclusion of McAfee antivirus is certainly not welcome. I highly recommend setting up windows in offline mode to uninstall the bloatware before connecting to the internet. Other than McAfee, most of the pre-installed programs might come in handy. - Performance Performance is exceptional. The 11th gen tiger-lake processors are a significant step up from the previous series, and the Iris Xe graphics offer a bit of gaming performance for older titles. (60 fps, 1080p) Rocket League runs well on the lowest settings. (60 fps+, 1080p) Minecraft runs superbly even on older versions without Optifine. (60 fps, 900p) Fortnite was only playable on performance mode due to unplayable lows on dx12. The screen's motion blur is acceptable for casual gaming. Lowering the render size to 900p for better performance isn't detrimental on the 14" model. By default, Intel's "Smart V-Sync" feature is on and seems to stop most screen tearing. The feature caps video game fps to 60 without the input delay while also saving battery life. You can turn the feature off in Intel's Graphics Command Center (Windows Store App). On the 8GB model, Task Manager displays memory consumption at around 50% while idling. However, that's just due to the integrated graphics sharing 4GB of memory. The shared 4GB is usable by other programs. It's just odd that Task Manager displays it incorrectly. TLDR... Could use some minor improvements. Would recommend.
I've had the Yoga 7i for almost a month now and I love it! Before this, I've only personally owned and used Apple computers/laptops. I decided to make the move to Windows for grad school (EE student). So far, so good! My last laptop was a 2015 MacBook Pro and one of the features I didn't want to give up was the battery life (I could close my laptop, leave it for days, and the battery would be the same as when I left it). Even after ~8 years of use, my MacBook's battery life was pretty solid. To be fair, I only did light-to-moderate Python and MATLAB programming on it and the only game I played on it was Sims (lol). Anyway, I noticed the battery lives of the Windows laptops I use for work (Dell/Alienware) are HORRIBLE, so I feared sacrificing this by making the ... Anyway, I noticed the battery lives of the Windows laptops I use for work (Dell/Alienware) are HORRIBLE, so I feared sacrificing this by making the switch. However, I did some preliminary research and, true to other reviews, the battery life on the Yoga 7i is pretty good! All this to say: Pros: - Aesthetic - Good battery life - Slim/lightweight - Enough ports (for a modern laptop) - Quality sound/speakers Con: - Brightness (it's great for indoor use, but probably won't fare well in sunny, outdoor environments)
Cons: - Customer service is sub-par and is hard to entrust them with your problems. - I believe my headphone jack is faulty. I reached out to customer support and was not given an answer as to why I was having issues with it. My headphones, 4-pole 3.5mm, fit very loosely, despite that being the size the user manual stated. I bought adapters to solve the problem, but no luck. The port is unusable to me, which is unfortunate because that's a very important port. - The IPS screen is glossy visually, but when you use it with touchscreen, your finger drags on it. A pen may work better. - The Yoga 7 is an investment - Someone who is looking for a great webcam, the Yoga 7 offers a decent one (I would not call it bad!) - Hinges can be stiff at times (but also not bad) - The ... A pen may work better. - The Yoga 7 is an investment - Someone who is looking for a great webcam, the Yoga 7 offers a decent one (I would not call it bad!) - Hinges can be stiff at times (but also not bad) - The occasional fingerprint magnet. I know some people do not like that in a product. - Manufacture's packing was not as great as expected. I feel very lucky my device was not damaged. - When the laptop is shut down, the laptop grows really cold. This is a little odd to me, and I've never had a laptop get that chilly. Takes about 10 minutes for the laptop to warm up to a normal temp. Pros: - Design and build aesthetic are very impressive and unique! The Stone Blue color is very cool, the rounded edges are extremely unique, and not to mention, the device is so sturdy and strong without being heavy! - The 14" screen is perfect for me and it honestly does not feel small. - The screen quality of the IPS display is wonderful. The colors are always bold without the screen being too bright. It elevates video/movie streaming significantly. - The 16:10 aspect ratio feels productive and looks sharp. It is enjoyable to see more on the screen when browsing, and I really enjoy the widescreen videos. For a customer who wants text or graphics bigger for the comfort of the eyes, I will say that everything appears much smaller on this device, but it's something you can always change in settings if you'd like. - The touchscreen is a great addition to this device. Without it, it would feel like something was missing. I like being able to interact closely with the high-quality screen. - Heating and cooling works just as it should! The Yoga 7 can handle light loads very well and keeps everything cool and speedy. I have not used my device for heavy loads yet, but I feel good about the device being able to keep up. - The device is professional, sleek and fun all in one! - The device offers various ways to log in, and all are fast and efficient. - The first boot up and every single one after that have been speedy and flawless. - Considering the features of the device, the battery life is perfectly sufficient for me. I get about 8 hours consistently on a battery that is advertised to be 10 hours. Once again, though, I have not run heavy loads yet. - The Yoga 7 has many small features that make it unique, such as a plethora of function keys, a color changing light on the power button, smile-shaped keys, a neat metallic insignia on the front, and many more. There's something for everyone here! - The device has a plethora of ports too which is really hard to find, as most laptops are getting thinner, and more technology is getting put inside. The Yoga 7 is plenty thin, yet still has an HDMI, a micro-SD card reader, two USB type C ports, one regular USB port and a headphone jack. - WiFi connection has been fast and efficient for me. I know lots of people have issues with soldered, and that unsoldered is a selling point for consumers who modify or upgrade computers they buy. - I cannot forget about my favorite feature of the Yoga 7... The Dolby soundstage should be a much bigger selling point than it is! It is not fully realized how fantastic it is. Despite not having a rotating soundbar like the Yoga 9i, the sound is still top tier. With four speakers and a surround-sound type feel, Lenovo knocked that partnership with Dolby out of the park. My streaming experience was elevated immediately, and I can't wait to use the soundstage for media projects in the future. I will also note here that there is no speaker rumble or muffling whatsoever. This is not quite a con, but I will also note that the sound does not project the same while in tent mode, but the sound is still excellent! - The trackpad is reliable and accurate, and I've had no issues with palm rejection or high sensitivity. - The keyboard backlight is great! I really wanted one on my purchase, so I am satisfied. The light is adjustable with three modes (off, dim, bright). Works really well in low-light. - The IPS display promised great visuals and good battery life and it delivered. I think OLED screens look great, but it was not what I was looking for. I'm glad I chose the IPS. I will say IPS is not for everyone. But it is a really good compromise if you want good battery life, because the screens are both glossy and color expression is similar. The biggest difference is brightness and value of colors, but Lenovo's IPS is 300 nits of brightness compared to their 400 nit OLED. I believe the IPS is worth it for the right type of lifestyle. - Fan noise is little to none! I know a lot of consumers out there look for that in a purchase. The fans do their job and I believe they will continue to do so with heavy loads. - The laptop is very welcoming to use in the way that the user interface, features and overall comfort of the device is grand. I always feel good while using this device, and I feel confident of its ability to last a long time. There are many features to like, and I get reminded of them with each use, and it always feels premium. I love how the laptop looks, feels and how it works. In conclusion, my purchase with Lenovo has been double sided. The pros have outnumbered the cons, but the weight of the cons is heavy. I don't know if my mind can be changed about that, but so long as the pros continue to be as great as they are, I may come to terms with my issues. I would like to make space in this review to share some things I researched for to affirm my decision to buy a laptop. Right now, I can say that I recommend this device for students, or anyone looking for a productive workspace that doubles as a creative and entertaining platform. The battery life seems strong enough to get one through a school day. The soundstage and screen quality can be a great perk for a student looking for a fun device to stream or game on, but I feel like the Yoga 7 was designed with creatives in mind! I believe it could be a good option for photo and video editors, as well as film students. The intended purpose of the Yoga 7 is not solely business, but I feel this is a perfect device for productive tasks. The Yoga 7 is the best of many worlds, and can cater to many different purposes. I would like to reiterate that there is something for everyone in this device, and anyone can be as happy as I was pulling the device out of the box for the first time. A purchase as big and important as a laptop should be exciting and shouldn't leave a bitter taste. But as said before, not everything is perfect, so take each element with a grain of salt, but find what you like the best about your purchase. All in all, I would recommend buying the Yoga 7 for the premium feel of the features (not quite the service). But my word of caution: take a grain of salt, think about the future of the device before you commit to a purchase, and shop around for the best deal!
