This is almost the perfect laptop! The 2 screens are amazing. The soundbar is by far the best. One day they will fix this laptop and make a 15" and I can't imagine getting anything else. For now it has a few drawbacks. First it couldn't handle processing a PDF. Moving around any PDF would cause lag. This instantly killed it since I handle mechanical prints all day. Second is that the keyboard is not backlit. How in 2023 does it not have this function? Other non deal breakers would be not having a port near the bottom for charging. Why are all 3 ports near the middle? With this unique laptop it should have 5g or LTE. Fix those things and nothing could compete! I had to return it and go to a boring X1 Carbon Gen 11.

Let's first go through a brief history. I've owned a 13 and 15-inch Macbook (excellent computers) and 3 Asus laptops. This is my first Lenovo.Build quality is excellent. However, I have not yet dropped it and cannot attest to its robustness. The dual-screen is impressive, the screens are bright, and the resolution is marvelous. The on-screen keyboard is much better than I expected and I can type fairly quickly using it. I only use it when I am away from a hard surface to set up the stand. I have used it in bed once and was able to use the stand as well which was nice.So far, after having it for a month, I 100% recommended it.

For years, I've been an avid fan of Microsoft Surface laptops and Samsung Tablets and computers, buying the exact same thing every year that they tweaked a little and pushed out as a "New" product over and over again paying $2K every time. My whole ecosystem was Microsoft and Samsung but then Lenovo came into my life with the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i and I was smitten at first look. Why did Microsoft not innovate? They promised the Surface Duo and Surface Neo and I bought the Surface Duo II and was very disappointed and then Microsoft failed to deliver the Neo dual screen. Lenovo has done what no one else has been able to successfully attempt and succeed. Lenovo has done what no one else has been able to successfully attempt and succeed. I bought my Yoga Book 9i by pre ordering it through Best Buy (thank you Best Buy) before it was released elsewhere and when it finally arrived it took me no time in opening it up and getting it setup to my liking. I've used my Yoga Book 9i every day at work for the past 2 weeks and it is truly superior in every way. Lenovo has completely won me over with this beautiful piece of innovation and I will never give Microsoft or Samsung another dime of my money. Lenovo, you've set the bar very very high by releasing the Yoga Book 9i into the Public Realm and I cannot wait to see what you come up with next. Anybody looking to buy a used Microsoft Surface Pro 9, Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 11", HP Elite 360 16"? I now have the only computer I need for the next 1 - 2 years thanks to Lenovo.
I'm happy I was able to get a hold of a 1TB unit as ship times are so unpredictable and inaccurate on Lenovo's website. My order did arrive in 2 weeks after placing the order. The highlight of this laptop is the duo screen. They are bright, vibrant, touch responsive and a great size. All the included accessories are well put together for a great functional package. The foldable stand is surprisingly sturdy and I never had fear of the laptop falling off. The software that is included in the laptop for the duo screen to work with all the gestures works well but at times they do have hiccups. I really don't get why the widgets are even advertised as a feature when Lenovo seem to not even support it. So far the battery is just ok, I probably will get 5 hrs just basic ... MoreI'm happy I was able to get a hold of a 1TB unit as ship times are so unpredictable and inaccurate on Lenovo's website. I really don't get why the widgets are even advertised as a feature when Lenovo seem to not even support it. So far the battery is just ok, I probably will get 5 hrs just basic work/browsing/youtube, etc. The biggest flaw of this laptop is the Mobile Processor. It's slow. I'm sure they choose a mobile processor due to battery life but they should of went with an AMD processor. I find myself sometimes waiting for an application to load or I click on a icon doesn't and it doesn't register right a way. Lenovo products always have slow Wifi and I don't know why. That is also present here. Overall a great first gen product and I hope the the 2nd gen will get higher refresh screen, better processor, and a black lit keyboard.
So I finally got my unit after weeks of waiting. Yes, I could of gotten it earlier if I went the Best Buy route but I wanted the 1TB version. My delivery date was 1 and a half months out but due to my surprise it only took two weeks from ordering to receiving it on my doorstep. The displays are gorgeous and bright and the flexibility of the yoga lineup is present. I'm glad that all the accessories are included with an exception of a slip case. I plan on buying the 14.5inch yoga case which should work once my Lenovo rewards points kick in after this purchase. Having two screens is such a game changer. I use one for productivity an one for entertainment. It also allows me to have more space just to drag stuff to the other screen for reference. I use one for productivity an one for entertainment. It also allows me to have more space just to drag stuff to the other screen for reference. The battery life is fair with multiple power options such as battery saver/performance/cooling. I probably will get on an average of 4-5 hr use with both display on. All the Lenovo gestures are great and works. Now for the not so good or needs work. The mobile chip is not as snappy as I would like, even my old desktop with an i7 6th gen is faster in opening basic task. The laptops full potential software/firmware is still not released as I don't see all the pen gesture working that I see on early demos in YouTube videos. The widgets are non existent, all I see is news and a calendar with no options to change anything. It makes this usless and don't see Lenovo supporting or further developing it. There is only one live wallpaper (butterfly) that makes use of the dual display. Please release more Lenovo. My major gripe is when going from dual screen propped up and going back to a standard laptop mode. When in propped up mode, an application left on the bottom screen before closing out will appear back there after reopening in laptop mode. This is a problem when I use the virtual or physical keyboard on the screen. Example is, I launch edge browser or any other application, I don't see it pop up on my screen because it's launch hidden below on the bottom screen. But the virtual keyboard or physical keyboard is covering it. I then have to then emove the keyboard and move the app to the top screen and replace the keyboard to continue working. This is a software issue that could be fixed. Overall I happy with the purchase. It can be still be refine and cleaned up with updates on Lenovo's side. It's expensive but it's unique and first to the market.
This dual screen laptop is not a gimmick and is full of potential. The different configurations can increase productivity significantly. The only things keeping it from being 5 stars are:1. Stronger specs. It should have a 13th gen i9 rather an an i7 based on the price point.2. Widgets/apps need to be available/customizable for the 1.5 screen configuration.I hope they continue to develop dual screen laptops, make them more powerful, and software/hardware companies start developing specifically for dual screens. For example, I could see a dj controller accesory in place of the keyboard, the waveforms in the half-screen widget area, and the dj's preferred software on the main screen. The machine arrived about a week ago. I was nervous of first generation but I couldn't wait. I do a lot of image editing, drawing, video and music. This machine does not disappoint. I've been using it everyday setting up my apps and exploring the versatility offered. The dual screens is ridiculously amazing. Orientation changes, opening the virtual keyboard and arranging windows has been functioning flawlessly for me. This is the machine I have dreamed of. The keyboard, pen, mouse and stand are awesome. As a package I can instantly change workflow immediately depending on what I'm doing. The audio is the best I've ever heard on a laptop, but I've only had experience with a narrow range. Connecting devices was automatic, no issues installing software and updated OS etc without any glitches.I've been using a Surface Laptop Studio. I've been happy with it but It feels clunky compared to the 9i. I'm so elated this machine delivers as promised. Lenovo designed an intuitive, beautiful and functional dual screen gem that is not gimmicky.A huge plus is the accessories come in the package. It's worth the price tag without the keyboard, pen, mouse and stand made this a full out of the solution.
I've noticed improved speed performance on the Yoga Book 9i after I ran a few cleaning tools, such as Defragment and other free tools I found online, but maybe changing the Power Settings from Balanced to Performance did the trick. I'm going to keep monitoring the performance and check Task Manager for any apps I had installed to see if it's hogging memory.Regarding the late delivery of the device, Lenovo offered to reimburse about 5% from the purchase price, which was better than their initial offer of $50.The laptop screen is just spectacular, crisp and clean as well as the sound quality. The only issue is when I wake up the machine after it's on sleep mode as the orientation did not auto adjust itself once or twice. The login remained upside down, but rebooting did the trick. Hope this is not a frequent and reoccurring issue. Great for working remotely, like at a coffee shop with the dual screen, as I'm able to maintain my productivity with the use of dual screen. My other concerns are the laptop heating up way too hot when using graphics apps and playing games when plugged into power, unplugging the power cable seems to stop this. The stand is sturdy and the magnetic keyboard stays on the laptop screen with no issues. The screen is perfect size for me, but only after adjusting the Windows text size.Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase and hoping will provide fixes for the issues I've outlined above.
Lenovo has outdone themselves with the remarkable new Yoga Book 9i Gen 8, I am proud owner of this innovation that works (where many others failed to sustain). This stunning 2-in-1 laptop sets a new standard for premium design, vibrant display technology, and convertible flexibility. After reviewing the Yoga Book 9i,Starting with the jaw-dropping OLED touchscreen display - the 13.3" panel with 2880 x 1800 resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio is gorgeous. OLED brings such vivid colors and perfect blacks; it's a sight to behold. My only wish would be for Lenovo to shave off even more of the bezel and maximize that screen real estate. The cantilever hinge looks so futuristic and allows for smooth transitions between laptop and tablet modes. My only wish would be for Lenovo to shave off even more of the bezel and maximize that screen real estate. The cantilever hinge looks so futuristic and allows for smooth transitions between laptop and tablet modes. Kudos to Lenovo for the innovation. However, I felt the hinge was a bit stiff in testing. Slightly smoother hinge movement would make switching between modes more effortless.Performance is excellent thanks to 12th Gen Core i7 processors and Iris Xe graphics. Yet more configuration options like AMD Ryzen CPUs could appeal to a broader range of creators. Battery life is decent at 15 hours but falls a bit short of all-day endurance. An additional couple hours of runtime would be wonderful to see.At the end of the day though, Lenovo has succeeded in delivering an incredibly sleek and powerful 2-in-1 with the Yoga Book 9i. For content creators and professionals on the go, this is the perfect tool. I'm excited to see how Lenovo takes feedback and iterates on this already phenomenal premium laptop concept.I am happy overall thoroughly impressed, but I am not a hypocrite to provide my usage for last 1 month and not give LENOVO few areas where they could take this laptop from great to perfect.1. Provide an Backlit keyboard.2. On screen Virtual Keyboard and Virtual Mousepad makes the cursor disoriented (only sometimes), this needs to be fixed.3. A better App to control apps in multiple screen dynamically, like press F1 with combination of keys to move app from screen 1 to Screen 2, etc. Right now we have to use mouse to do that.4. More finger gesture option to work on multiple apps.5. Wished Battery was modeled in a plug and play type instead of embedded, as we know multiple screen means more enenry used and battery usage will not be good and battery life will not stay good for ever,6. Provided a display protect like screen guard, or top layer some kind of 3M wall paper to help protect regular wear and tear.Above are just wishes, The future is bright for the Yoga Book line!
