I think these have an edge on the crossfire in clarity but hard to tell.The bino harness is mid at best. Not a fan. There's much better out there if you're hunting and if you want to protect your investment whike being able to safely and quietly insert and remove your binos each and everytime I recommend either Marsupial Gear or FHF' FOB harness. This pouch is just a bag to put your binos in. No need to ride on about something they arent because that'd all they are.Now. These types of binos are NOT for western long range glassing. I don't care what anyone says. When your rifle scope out performs your binos and ypu fond yourself needing to use your rifle acope then you're using the wrong binos. These are great for southeast whitetail, bird watching stuff like that. If you start getting in trying to adequately watch and admire deer or elk far out in the distance against the sun or heavy shade etc, I suggest investing in a higher quality pair such as the BX guide pros or something along that line. Buy what's practical for your needs. For me I use these alpine HDs for whitetail In the south east where I only need to he able to identify like 400 yards out at best and to also glance over 2 pastures to check on the cattle. I owned the BX Guide Pros and the Vortex Viper HDs. I sold the Pros because I had better use for the extra $700 in other areas of gear but was extremely spoiled none the less. Amazing binos they are. I sold the Viper HDs for a similair reason when I found these. The Viper HDs are a bit better than the alpine HDs in my opinion (I think side by side it's very clear) but for white tailing here in the south east I get just as much information with these as I would a $1500 pair of binos. My advice is to be extremely smart with your optics purchases and don't get caught up in thinking you need this pair or that pair. Ask yourself what do you need them for specifically and go from there. If I buy a nice pair a binos I'm saving and buying a Swarovski.Aberration, field of view, all the coos and caas are fine with these binos. Could they be better? Of course. Could I pay double/triple for a little better? You'd have to. Is it worth it to me? Nope.I probably get the mist use out of these with checking my arrows against my targets when shooting my bow I guess. Thry still make it to the woods with me but again, I'm south eastern whitetail/ turkey. Surrounded by woods and pastures and these are perfect. Tells me all the information I need to know and thry do nlt cause headaches or eye aches. They adjust Great and they are the perfect size.If I were going out west a lot or lived out west and hunted more open plains and those wooded areas I'd definitely consider the Guide Pros over these or the Vortex Razor HDs for sure. That being said I did love my Guide Pros a lot but as little as I glassed while hunting and at the realistic ranges I did find my self glassing, I just didn't really reap the extra benefits.These binos seem to be very clear at low light compared to others in its price range as well. But again you're not getting what you woukd get out of a $1000+ bino either. Maybe close but close isn't it. Close means you might can see better a few minutes longer than not and a few minutes might could make all the difference. But then again if it's that low light you probably shouldn't be shooting any way atleast. If it's getting dark there's not much you can do and if it's getting daylight then atleast you'll know where to look in the next few minutes. But I feel like no matter how good you can make a target out at low light conditions , just knowing where said target is is what's most important. At night I'm not shooting so I'm just curiously looking and in the morning I can still find movement enough to follow until it's light enough. We are all just looking for information. Just know that you're not using your binos to make that shot, you're only using them to gain additional information.I recommend these binos for a $200 budget undoubtedly. I also recommend if you're wanting to get something better go towards lieca, Swarovski or even some mavens are really good quality as far as the glass. I know sone manufacturers have odd dials and wheels and grip and shapes etc. But I recommend either a $200 set of binos or a high end set that you can really tell the difference in. Something that you can compare and see a night and day difference.Also these have a great warranty. Life tine warranty. Just as good as vortex. If you have any issues just contact customer service. They usually don't ask questions and will send you something new if thry can't fix it.

I needed a pair of relatively high-power binoculars for an upcoming elk hunt. Leupold has always been a good product and I believe they make most of their products in the US. These binoculars were relatively inexpensive, so I gave them a try. So far, I have been happy with them. They are clear and easy to adjust. I am looking forward to putting them to the test this fall. Regarding Cabelas, the ordering process was easy, and shipping was fast and free. Overall, I am completely satisfied with the purchase.

These are excellent binoculars. I got them to replace a lost set of Athlon Optics binoculars which were more expensive…..these are better. For sure. I got the 52s to get better performance in low light situations but, I think the size and weight is not worth it….these are pretty beefy and heavy. I think I’d be happier with the smaller set…..but that is not a problem with the binoculars…they are really good.

These binoculars have exceptional clarity, and really allows for fine tuning - I would say the best I have ever purchased. The case is solid, however there are bizarrely complicated cheap straps, and loose hanging adjustment straps. I simply do not understand why this high end binocular would even consider including this - it cheapens the entire package. I have a multitude of Leupold products, all are excellent. I just do not understand the thought process of selling a high end binocular with the cheapest straps you could possibly find - just leave them out Leupold - your product managers needs some leadership.
So when I buy optics I purchase every one available with the features I’m after in the same price range. I take them all out at dawn and dusk and sometimes even where I’ll be using them. I purchased 4 binoculars, all 12x50mm (these are 52mm) and these were the “clear” winner. Two were different brands, one was a lesser Leupold product. It only costs a few bucks to return them and it keeps you from having buyers remorse.
It's a low/mid quality bino as the price shows. You get what you pay for... MOST of the time with optics. It will get the job done in many hunting situations. You can never go wrong with Leupold as their warranty is outstanding which is why I always will buy their products over others. P.S. shop for price as the popular sporting good stores are $50.00 more on this product.
Had the opportunity to use these in the field. I am not a expert so this will be simple. Binos are nice and clear, they pick up lots of light, especially in the early morning/evening which is one of the main reasons for buying them. Easy to hold and adjust. Mine do have a tripod connection, just have to unscrew the leupold logo in the front- For those that this is important too.Personal opinion: I would like the eye cups to be stiffer to adjust, but that's a minor complaint.The carry case is garbage so expect to buy a new strap/case.As far as binos go. I Love them, I will have them for a long time.And Matt at RCT was great to deal with and made the purchase easy fast and better priced than anywhere else.Thanks Matt.

Some people complained about eyecup discomfort and the objective lens caps falling off too easily. And while those criticisms do have merit, neither of those things are big major issues. In other words, while they eyecups could definitely be more ergonomic, theyre certainly usable and not terrible by any means. And I think the complainers also likely failed to realize that the eyecups are actually removable for easy replacement in the event that theyre ever damaged, which is a real plus and a very innovative practical design. With that being said, these are definitely nice binos and they dont leave much room for complaint, because image quality, clarity, and light transmission are all basically excellent, and including under low-light conditions. As far as features go, they have Leupolds Twilight Max HD Light Management System, phase coated BAK4 prisms, and an aluminum chassis. Theyre also covered under the Leupold warranty which is considered by many to be the best out there. They also come with a nice looking storage case and a very usable padded neck strap, both of which are a noticeable jump in quality compared to most. In short though, for 8x42's that retailed in the $300-range before being discontinued, these are pretty tough beat in my opinion.
Wow, these are outrageously good. I ordered online and before I even got them I was considering springing for the Bx-4 Pro Guides. As soon as I looked through these, I totally ruled out that idea. These are everything I could’ve asked for and more. Massive upgrade from my 10x42mm Rainier HD [Mckenzie]. Clarity is unreal, lowlight vision is spectacular. They feel well built. They’re a tad heavier than my previous pair but that’s to be expected with the larger lenses. The trade off is well worth it. Love these.One small problem I ran into. The lanyard slots were too small for my Eberlestock Recon bino harness.
Let me start by saying that I am new to hunting, and therefore to optics so take that into account for my comments. I have not had the chance to do comparisons of various binoculars, but I believe these will get the job done. I have taken this pair out for 2 scouting trips, and the furthest I have spotted elk is out to about 1500 yards. At that distance on a bright sunny day, I was clearly able to see them, but not in any great detail. For instance, I know there were 7-8 of them, and I think at least one was a bull, but I am not sure as it was bedded down in some timber and I didn’t know if I was seeing antlers or branches?? A spotting scope is in my future….
