I absolutely hate spandex, especially in my jeans. I like everything about these shorts, except that they run big.Description and reviews all said to size up. I shouldn't have listened because they are way too big. And now my size unavailable. I may return, or because they are all cotton, I may wash in hot water and dry on high heat and hope they shrink.Stay With your true size.

I wear a 29 in ribcage, anywhere from a 29 to a 31 in wedgies, and now in 501's it seems to be a 30-31? I ordered these in a 30 because I fit the 30s in long jeans and while they fit, they're very tight. I'm sure they'll stretch with wear, but that's a gamble whether they'll stretch enough. On the bright side, there's no waist gap. Also, the color I received is *not* what is pictured. It's a medium wash--pretty, but not that light blue on the model. The hem is very frayed, not the fresh cut pictured either. They do make your bum look fine. Likely will return or exchange for a size up. Should've ordered multiple sizes because there's no consistency.

Fit smaller than the 501 jeans. Bought my waist size but the hips/butt were too tight so bought 1 size up and they fit well. If you are more curvy this style will not fit your hips/butt unless you are ok with gapping on the waist. Otherwise they are good quality, look cute and just long enough to avoid chaffing.
