Portable, quick connect/disconnect, reliable, rapid access...I could go on and on. I wanted the ability to back up important files on multiple media as I've been burned in the past by consolidating back-ups on a single electro-mechanical drive or two. Now I have multiple redundancies and the ability to store files in different fire-resistant locales, safe deposit boxes, etc. with a very low likelihood of failure. Yes, I'll be owning more of these in the future.

I’m paperless at home but even needing less room for papers you eventually need additional storage room for files. This 32G jump drive makes it convenient for me to quickly access my favorite and important videos, files and photos. Just recently I had to access a years old photo of my neighbor’s leaning tree that finally fell onto my home. It’s extremely lightweight and I love that the connector slides in and out of the sleeve and that it has a keychain slot so I can keep it close by. I do wish the keychain slot was made of steel though. Otherwise it’s perfect for my needs and priced just right. I also highly recommend this brand.

Lexar definitely rules on USB and SD drives and cards. I'm a photographer who stores lots of photos on these USB drives for 2nd backup to external hard drives. I've used these USB drives for many years. No crashes, no loss of data. USB port is metal, not plastic which keeps the drive from cracking or breaking! Definitely recommended! Plus has a loop for attaching carabiner!

I like to keep a flash drive with me all the time, so this is really handy. The drive is compatible with both PC's and Mac Systems. The USB port is metal so it will hold up to repeated uses. The outer case slides up to cover the USB connector.The drive is plug and play, no added downloads needed. It does come with some security software already loaded on it. I personally don't like that, so I just reformated the drive. It's designed to work with USB 3.0 and 2.0 devices. The Lexar S80 is my preferred USB 3.0 flash drive. If I need anything 256 GB or under, I get an S80.The S80 has an improvement over the S75 from Lexar, which used to be my go to flash drive. The USB port slides more easily in and out on the S80 versus the S75. On the S75, a new drive would take a bit of downward force to get the slider to unlock and open. The S80 sits securely and moves without the need for too much force.There are really only 2 complaints with the S80. Unlike the S75, the S80 removed the access indicator light. So, there's no physical way on the flash drive to know when a read or write operation is finished. You have to go by Windows dialogs to know for sure. The other is a hold over from the S75. I bought this in the store at my husbands request. When he strarted using it...he told me that he had to download the encrypted software in order to use...so he said for me to take it back. When I brought it back to the OFFICE DEPOT on NW EXPRESSWAY in OKC. The two men helping me inquired why I was returning it and they took the jump drive and plugged it in and showed me how to use it. The encryption software is AN OPTION. You don't have to download it if you don't want to. Also there were Tutorials on there to show you how to use the jump drive. I am thankful for the technical support and instruction from those men who assisted me because I kept the jump drive for myself. LOL
My standby flash drive was the Lexar S75 USB 3.0 Jumpdrive. Lexar stopped production on the S75, so I tried the S80 as my next logical replacement. It appears to be a very good updated version. Strangely, the maximum speed is rated slightly, but not too much, lower than the S75. Not a deal killer. One thing this drive doesn't do that the S75 did, and this is a good thing, is the write rate appears to be constant. On the S75, you'd get a burst of writes and then a small pause before writing resumes. This would happen 2 or 3 times over the course of the entire write. The S80 doesn't appear to do this.My primary purpose for flash drives now is for bootable media. Some flash drives cannot be made bootable, but the S80 can be. Bought two of these to replace a slow Sandisk USB 2.0 drive and a 3.0 Sandisk toaster oven that would hit 70 degrees Celsius on IDLE and throttle because of the excessive heat. Lexar doesn't disappoint here. Although they don't get insanely hot and useless as Sandisks, they will hit their 150 MB/sec write speed for the first 30 to 90 seconds then drop to 35 to 45 MB/sec. This puts them below the ranks of higher quality flash drives from Patriot & Corsair, but much much better than Sandisk and PNY. Definitely worth it for PS4/PS5 rescue media, a Windows 10 and 11 installation media, or as a Linux ISO/Acronis multiboot environment with Ventoy or YUMI ...

There are really only 2 downsides. One is, unlike the S75, the S80 does not have a drive indicator light that flashes when an operation is being performed on the drive. The other is the drive, unlike some other flash drives, writes data in "bursts" to the drive. It will write a block of data, then pause momentarily before resuming writing another block.
