A high quality memory card, must use high quality card reader ma. At least drop a review for Lexar.Review deliver speed : seller quick respond, quick proceed for deliver, arrived at third day. Thank you Lexar. Product review : CF express card reader surprisingly quite heavy, bottom designed non slip rubber, cable high quality with interchange usb-c, for mac user, very kind design. A minor not satisfied is the cable quite short, you can review from my video. Overall everything good.

Works great on MacBook Pro with USB-C ports. It's a USB 3.2 device and works well on newer machines ports but computers with the older pre USB-C ports cannot keep up with it so it will appear to be slow but that's the computer not the card reader. Has a solid feel and a foam ring on the base that helps keep it from being tossed around every time a cord is wiggled. However weight and size make it less portable so my MacBooks bag gets the small reader while the Lexar will be the desktop reader. The style looks incredible among the clutter that accumulates around my computer LOL.

I have recently started shooting with Compact Flash memory cards again. I had two readers-one CF only and one combination. When I started shooting large capacity/high speed SD cards, I went with a Lexar Professional SD-only reader. What I noticed when I got a more modern CF card for the newer camera was that the bigger files loaded s l o w l y. So, I did some research and called on my experience with Lexar and chose this one. I noticed immediately that it was a beefy item. That has nothing to do with function, but as other reviewers have mentioned, it stays put while in use. What it does do is load the files onto the computer MUCH faster than the older readers. To date, I've had no issues with file corruption. Overall great device - looks and feels good, good speed. It does, however have an issue on Mac OSX. The computer sees the connected cards as an external drive and not as a media card - like any other reader would do. Lightroom's import action defaults to 'Add' and not to 'Copy' which basically means that the images are never copied to your local drive. If you don't pay attention and not choose the 'Copy' action, you will be simply editing the images on the card. An accidental overwrite or format is just a question of time. And yes, I did learn it the hard way. Lexar does not offer any solution so won't be using it.
Just added a Windows 10 computer to the office, and as is common, there was no card reader in the machine. Added this Lexar reader without any more trouble than plugging it into an USB 3 slot.. Worked immediately, quickly, and perfectly on SDHC and micro-SD cards. Haven't tried CF yet. The LED indicator flashes blue when reading and red when not reading or ejected. So far, this is the best card reader I've ever used. It's easy to use, looks cool, no negatives whatsoever.
As a view reviews have mentioned, the spring lock seems to fail and then makes it useless. Didn't even afford me the option to read the card while holding/pressing it in, just nothing. Phoned Lexsar's reps in South Africa and they just refused to even help, let alone repair/replace it. Definitely better off looking at another card reader.
Unlike my another CFExpress reader this one keeps the card relatively cool, perhaps has some heat sink inside as it is quite bulky and large. However, this bulky size and weight is the trade causing 4 stars in my review. This device is not very travel-friendly when you have many items to pack and look at the size of each.I do not think there is much to do with this device about the transfer speed. Once the computer buffer is full, it is up to this buffer. In my case, it slows down after ~2Gb, exactly the same that I observed with other card readers.
Was incredibly slow to import with and would corrupt files during import. Returning as defective. Tried a different card reader (different brand) and no issues with the files or import speed. Do not recommend.
I got the Lexar Professional CF Express Type B Reader after not being happy with the ProGrade CF Express Type B reader. The Lexar gets mildly warm, the ProGrade gets extremely hot. The Lexar is faster than the ProGrade. I use a USB-c to USB-c cord. The Lexar does not have an SD slot like the ProGrade. I have a Lexar USB 3.0 reader for SD and my old CF cards. I highly recommend the Lexar Professional CF Express Type B Reader. I suggest avoiding the ProGrade reader
This reader showed a lot of promise, being sturdily built and in that doesn't heat cards up to lava-hot temperatures. However, after two short months, it is no longer mounting cards to my computers. I've tried different cables, different cards, etc.The reader senses the card and flips the status light to blue, but neither of my computers show anything mounted. This could be due to the fact that the spring lock doesn't seem to be holding cards in any longer, and releases them if the reader is moved or tapped.I can no longer recommend this product due to its extremely short lifespan. If Lexar sees this and wants to swap this out with another, I'll give it a another go. Otherwise, I can't stand behind a failed product.
