This washing machine is absolutely massive. A lot of people hate washer/dry combos, but I absolutely love mine. Yes it does take a long time to dry a load, but it dries well and the clothes come out soft. I am a person who does not use a dryer very much. I usually hang clothes on the clothe line during the day and use the drier at night. Its excellent putting a cycle on and having it washed and dried at the same time. A quick load and dry usually takes around 3 hours. Not too bad ! The smaller the load the quicker it will dry (obviously). I did a cotton cycles with intensive wash and turbo dry (about 13kg) of clothing and it took around 5 hrs. But I did this over night so the time didnt bother me. These washers get a bad wrap, but I love mine and wouldnt change it.

I wanted a machine I could wash my doonas and blankets in so I did not have to go to a Laudromat or dry cleaners. This machine was efficient and capable of doing it. If I only have a smallest wash its just as good. Yes it does take a bit longer than the smaller machines but its worth it. I like drying my washing on the line outside in the fresh air, however during this terrible summer I had to use the dryer option on a couple of occasions. Yes it does take quite a while but when you consider you can do the wash then go straight to the dryer it is very convenient. Just set and leave and get on with the day.

My first experience with a washer/dryer combo. It is sturdy and beautiful. Both wash and dry cycles are very quiet, I hardly notice it is on. It easily fits a king doona. The programs are intuitive which is good because the user manual is no-frills basic. There is no lint filter, so if you have pets that shed you will find balls of fur/lint on the blanket, in the drum, in crevices and stuck to the rubber seal on the door. This is a nuisance to remove so use in-wash lint catchers to minimise it. The wash/dry cycle can be very long (5+ hrs) when you first set it but sometimes it adjusts shorter or you can select quick wash. The turbo dry vs air dry is odd-- air dry gets wicked hot and there is no temperature control, so I prefer the turbo dry which is gentler. Great washer and drier. As other reviews have said, it does take about 5hrs to wash and dry. But it does it all itself and then will softly and slowly rostate clothes for up to 19hrs until you get to it. If you are in a rush to wash and dry faster than 5hrs, you will need to go to a laundromat and hope the machines are available.Otherwose, throw your clothes in and come back in 5hrs to get your clothes out.You can set a finish time with delay finish and it will do the rest, your clothes will be ready when you want. Only rhing is, it isn't setting a clock, but a timer. You'll have to do the maths yourself to work out your finish time. The phone/app connectivity is a piece of cake and is very handy for when your machine is a long way from you, you get a notification on ... MoreGreat washer and drier. As other reviews have said, it does take about 5hrs to wash and dry. The app will also track how many washes since you cleaned the tub.The operation of the machine is as simple or as coplmplex as you like it to be. A simple wash and dry takes 2 seconds to start. There is many options i haven't used, but I'm sure they would be simple enough to set up. The operation of the machine is smooth and quiet as a church mouse. Clothes come out clean, and dry if using the drier function. There is multiple ports in the soap department for powder or liquid, prewash, bleach and softener. It also comes with laminated quick guide instructions that suction cup to the machine. It is a beautiful looking machine that will only add to the decor of your laundry and handles large washes with ease.
BACKGROUND: MOTHER OF 6; 3/6 DISABLED - NEED CONSTANT WASHING AND CHANGING NEEDS. I bought this a couple of months ago, and honestly what happened LG? Why were you collecting info on customers for years with your fancy App if I now have less choice? What was the point? I was sold on the quality and quantity of washing. Now I am left with stained clothes which stay stained because the pre-wash is not long enough and it doesn't take it in enough water. Additionally, the hot and cold connections are superfluous - it only takes in cold water. Why? It doesn't heat the clothes while washing unless it is on 60 C but then the glass door is not as warm as my last 9kg LG, so I know something's off. Why? It doesn't heat the clothes while washing unless it is on 60 C but then the glass door is not as warm as my last 9kg LG, so I know something's off. Why? To compare - I had a large 14kg Top loader after my 9kg LG washer/dryer ( which the new versions on the top loader do not have a SOAK button - again WHY?) which was fantastic, except of course the drum went after 5 years and the computer/ mother board and lock followed quickly. You could code the buttons on the top loader and it did the work. I had to get a front loader because I developed back issues and my doctor and physio recommended a front loader. Well now I have less pain but more stained underwear, towels and socks! On this new machine: I can't wash large loads on Hygiene or Allergy- what was the point of getting it; FALSE ADVERTISING! 3kg does not equal 16 kg wash capacity! Capacity and washing quality was THE SELLING POINT. You shouldn't be charging people over $2 K for a machine that is NOT SMART! For Heavy Duty it is only 8.5 kg ! Again WHY???? THE STUPID WIFI WON'T TURN OFF! My cat won't sleep in the laundry anymore! WEIRD AND CAUSING ME ANXIETY THAT SOME ONE WILL GET INTO MY MACHINE WITH A COMPUTER VIRUS! (Please do not take this as a joke; LG have indemnified itself against all losses in the owner's manual (pp 31-33 in AUS version), so why have the WIFI on without giving an OFF button?) I can wash quilts and blankets, but on COTTON - NOT on DUVET. Did you know, LG people that mites can only be killed at 60 C or more? So if your cotton quilt can't be steamed in the final cycle or washed at 60 C for at least 1 hour, you risk cross contamination? Who is designing your family/large washing machines. Clearly no one who has ever had a family big or small or understands the actual meaning of 'hygiene' and 'allergy care'. Heads up most proteins that cause allergies require at least 50 C for denaturing; your machine only does 40C. Again why and how is it possible you got it so wrong? This machine was meant to save me on time and detergent and energy. I am having to just mix my soaker and detergent together in soak on COTTON, if I want a PRE WASH experience. I essentially have only one setting on a very well advertised toy. I am stuck with a machine that has the potential and the physical parts but BAD CODING!
Massive washing capacity which is great for bed sheets etc and with wash cycles for small loads it's also great for them. I was surprised how well the drying capability was. I washed a full set of queen sized bed sheets and they were washed and dried in about 4 hours which is good for a combo washer/dryer. We also have a dog which sheds a lot and we wash the dogs blankets in the washer and don't notice any hair in wash loads which are done afterwards.
I love the extra washing space this 16/9 kg washer gives but it does have some downsides. The dryer never finishes drying, even for small loads. So I end up having to use another dryer to finish off. The 16/9 runs a spin cycle when you put the dryer on so it’s not quick to put on a second drying cycle as even an extra 15 mins will at least double when the spin cycle is added. I find it unbalances a lot more easily than my previous LG machines. Loads that I feel should be fine (eg two pillows) unbalance. But if I tinker and change the cycle when I get an unbalance error it’s fine. No idea why this would happen. Ours only lasted two weeks due to a part issue. These things happen but LG was entirely unsympathetic. These things happen but LG was entirely unsympathetic. I have to wait three weeks for the problem to be assessed then potentially another three weeks for it to be fixed. This is very hard to accept in a brand new machine. Ps another odd thing. The detergent bin is smaller than the one on my 9kg LG so I struggle to get enough detergent in for a 16 kg load.
This is a huge 16 kilo load washing machine with 9 kilo dryer which can handle all my family throws at it. My wife loves to throw everything in it which I dont think is the idea as some colours run into the whites (ahhh yes wifey you still need to separate the whites and colours it seems). However im not happy with the way it takes 6 plus hours to do a wash and dry cycle. We were told by the sales rep at Harveys that this would take only 4 hours from start to finish which we werent too thrilled about but thought we would live with it but this has never happen. I have tried to figure out how to drop the time but till now nothing seems to work. I have tried to figure out how to drop the time but till now nothing seems to work. So unfortunately I got the old dryer out of retirement to speed the drying time up which therefore makes this purchase void as we wanted it to do the lot, just fill it up set and forget. If someone could please tell us how to shorten the whole process we might get a better experience but i doubt you can. Also something which didnt occur to me at the time of purchase was the difference in wash load and drying load. If you put 16 kilos of dry clothes in to wash then how do you get 9kilos of clothes to dry? Im guessing you pull out near half of the wet clothes and put that aside and then let your dryer do its thing but that also defeats the purpose of set and forget doesnt it. Quite frankly if I could return it I would do so as its not doing what we wanted it to do when we purchased it. If your looking for a all in one solution I would carefully look at all your options as we didnt and now have an expensive washing mahine as its not used for drying at all. Incidentally we still have the old washing machine too which sort of makes no sense either but im keeping it just incase something happens to this one.
I previously owned a Bosch wand decided to give the LG a go. I opted for the XL as l like to wash doonas and blankets and this 16kg wash & 9kg dry capacity is brilliant! I love that l can load the machine and turn it on from my mobile. I also love the interior light so when you take the clothes out or put them in, you can do it in the dark LOL just a great perk! But great for finding things that may have fallen out of a pocket you missed. I remember l panicked the first time I did a wash because l thought l hadn’t separated the colours enough but everything came out perfect! Best of all, it dries the clothes completely! I love it and it now makes laundry days fun. Thanks LG life now is great!
We have had reasonable success with the LG brand The washing machines have generally performed well. This is our second LG front loader with the first lasting 11 years before it would not balance in the spin cycle. Upgraded to this current machine went for the biggest 16kg we could buy. 14 months in & the main board is toast being replaced under warranty. Warranty service is good, only without a machine for a week requiring many visits to the laundromat. Only design gripe with both machines is the door does not open a full 180 degrees as we like to leave it open to allow the machine to air or partially dry between uses. Overall we are happy with the performance just coming to terms products these days are only designed to last the warranty period
