I’m very new to the monitor game so I had been doing some research on some of the recommended monitors for gaming (especially on Reddit) since I knew close to nothing about refresh rates and motion blur reduction, and this was one of them that was a high recommendation for beginners. I have a ps5 and it’s been a game changer when it comes to playing multiplayer games and also the quality of solo games has been amazing. I wanted to not spend a crazy amount of money for a monitor but still have a more than average quality monitor, so this was great value for the quality. I will say the only downside is there is no usb ports or built in speakers for the monitor for easier speaker connections and the headphone port on the monitor that allows speakers connections to it ... MoreI’m very new to the monitor game so I had been doing some research on some of the recommended monitors for gaming (especially on Reddit) since I knew close to nothing about refresh rates and motion blur reduction, and this was one of them that was a high recommendation for beginners. My friend recommended this monitor to me a few months ago. He said it was the best monitor he's ever had. The refresh rate and response time work amazingly and the gsync is surprisingly helpful. I've only owned this for about a month now but the picture quality and colors have been tremendous. Exactly what I was looking for. The only knock I have for this monitor is that when you put the response time to fastest, I tend to see a bit of a drag with text scrolling and with thin lines. In all honesty, though I could be using it incorrectly or my GPU may just not be beefy enough for it. Overall, this is by far the best monitor I've ever bought and it was fairly inexpensive. Would definitely recommend!

I picked up this monitor and was very pumped about it. Got it all setup, and was immediately greeted by beautiful colors and great quality. But then I noticed I was getting eye fatigue within the first few minutes of use, especially with anything that had a dark background. So the task bar, discord, steam, anything within my dark mode settings. White text just looked so blurry. I was pretty bummed out for a while and couldn’t find a solution. Great quality monitors
19 September 2022

Was looking for future-proofed monitors that are high quality, 27in QHD and have good color output and reflection handling. Bought a pair of these for a dual monitor setup and am super impressed by these. They are not heavy despite their size so Vesa mounting two of these is a great option. Have not calibrated these but out of the box they are almost spot on with each other in terms of color/brightness settings. I think that speaks to quality control out of the factor from LG, that these don't need much adjustment as side-by side panels. Love the high refresh rate, even though we're not gaming, the extra smooth scrolling and pointer feel are a nice plus.

Hampered by IPS glow and poor uniformity.

I upgraded to this from a 24" 1080p 144hz Viewsonic.Fortunately I did not have any dead pixels at all, the image is pleasing and sharp, and the 1440p resolution gives plenty of desktop real estate. There is no vertical gamma shift such as on a TN panel, where the whole screen looks like it has a vertical gradient. Such effects are absent from this screen due to the IPS panel which are known for good viewing angles. This panel also handles motion well with no visible burring or ghosting to my eye, and it's compatible with both AMD and Nvidia variable refresh rate tech which is a plus, since you are not locked in to any one GPU manufacturer. However, right away I noticed issues of color uniformity. Not only are the edges darker than the center of the screen, but the upper left and bottom right corners are significantly dimmer and have a blueish tint which is very noticeable on white backgrounds. I use my monitor for working from home during the day and gaming in the evening and when working on any white app such as excel or browsing the web, this uniformity issue is very distracting. It is not noticeable when gaming though.Secondly there is a lot of IPS glow coming from the bottom left corner, and even when I position the monitor to view it head-on and perpendicular, it's still very distracting, especially in any black loading screen. My eye instantly goes to the bottom left because of the bright glow. And this is on a brightness level of about 10/100.Furthermore after a month, the left side of the panel started showing random flickering or sparkling pixels.Unfortunately I cannot recommend this monitor.

I recently decided to upgrade from my old 27" Acer 1080p monitor that I've had for 8+ years. It was still a great monitor but as I'm looking to upgrade to a new video card, I knew I'd have to get a monitor that had a higher resolution, higher refresh rate and utilized a display port. I worked with one of the Microcenter specialists in the monitor department and decided to go with this one as it looked the best out of all the ones I looked at and had a nice discounted price.Simply put I was amazed at how crisp, colorful and bright everything looked. The ability to choose between several preset configurations was the best. The change to the games I play literally made them look like new games. IPS Glow issues.
6 November 2022

It's an OK monitor. It does the job but in dark rooms there are IPS Glow issues in parts of the monitor. For mine it's on the left side of the screen, the glow makes darks look gray and removes colour when looking at it at the wrong angle. Unfortunately for me it's almost looking straight on where I see the glow. The menu settings for response time aren't all that clear either. The monitor defaults to 4ms response on the "fast" setting, but there's "faster" which sets it to 1ms. These settings are just named as "fast" and "faster" which is not as clear as the number written down.If you can get in on sale it's probably worth it. I don't think I'll buy a second matching one though because of the IPS Glow issues.

It was tough choice but I decided to purchase LG monitor over others after thorough research.LG has solid reputation of producing quality products (appliances and electronics) for over decades. At this price range, this monitor is absolutely superior in terms of performance and quality.Do not buy cable! Package includes necessary cables (dp+hdmi+power) unlike cellphone manufacturers that are penny pinching the consumers. Also includes a very good stand that actually weights a bit, not flimsy hollow plastic. The monitor is sleek and slim.It performs at expected level - Happy with refresh rate and picture quality.Finishing is well done, no gaps or wiggling ports or dead pixels. The setup is easy and straight forward as well.

Terrible Experience
10 October 2021

This monitor started flickering on and off every few seconds after about 2 months of use. This was not a cable issue as I tried changing the DP cable and I am using the cable that was originally connected right now. I thought it might be the DP input port or a gpu issue, but the problem persisted when switching to the HDMI input which was connected to my laptop. I sent in in for repair and the result was that the monitor was unrepairable, which tells me this is most likely a quality issue.Furthermore, the whole repair/return process was terrible. 3 weeks after the monitor was delivered for repair, I had to reach out to LG for the status, as I was not contactedat all. I would rather have been sent a new monitor if that was an option, but I do not know if that was a viable option as I was not contacted.Up until the problem, the monitor was great, but since it became faulty in less than 3 months on top of the bad repair process leaving me without a monitor for over a month, I cannot give this more than one star at this time. That being said, I did love the monitor, and my quality experience is probably the minority. I have since ordered another on the hope that this one stays functional.

I've been a big fan of LG panels for years now. So when it came time to upgrade from my old budget 1080p non-LG monitor... I knew where I wanted to start. On paper, the 27GL83A-B checked all the boxes. 1440p, 1ms response time, G-sync, and more meant it'd be perfect for high end, FPS heavy, gaming. The color accuracy, color adjustability, image brightness, and IPS panel were exactly what I needed for color accuracy dependent work project.I've owned the monitor for a little over a month now.
