I don't have much to compare with (Just a Dell IPS from 2014). Just to note I'm running Linux and so some things my differ from Windows experience. Picture quality is great even without HDR working on Linux yet. The build quality feels fine, but not as good as the Dell I have, The stand doesn't support "yaw" rotation, so you'll have to make do with rotating the entire monitor on the desk, this may or may not be ideal for you especially with the feet being quite long. The bad: It seems like no one at LG tested this with multiple monitor setups, let me explain: When the monitor goes to sleep it goes in to a "lite sleep" mode, and everything works fine. But after a few minutes of being off it goes in to a deep sleep mode to save power, this mode cannot be turned off like in older models. This causes a bunch of bugs, Upon recovery from deep sleep the monitor: Is no longer my primary display causing games to launch on my other monitor. The frequency is dropped from 180hz to 165hz. The monitor flickers if adaptive_sync is enabled, this does not happen before it goes to sleep. According to reddit users, On windows this results all your desktop icons moving to the other display, and the "hot-plug" sound happening in the background. I spent several hours getting a Windows Install running to check for a firmware update, but no firmware updates were available.

I have only had this monitor for a short time, but so far it is met all my expectations. I was looking for a new monitor upgrade to support 1440p gaming and after hours of research including reading and watching reviews, this model repeatedly emerged as a top contender. I certainly could have went with it's smaller (and decidedly excellent) 27-inch cousin, but for the price I treated myself to the 32-inch. The cost was a bit of an extravagance, yes, but not unreasonably so. The build quality is high, and setup was easy and quick, with HDMI, DisplayPort, power cable and the monitor-to-computer USB cable all included and saving me that extra bit of shopping or scrounging. I did anticipate that I would have to tinker with the settings for the best viewing experience, but to my surprise this was not so. Whether this was due to factory defaults or an enterprising technician somewhere along the way, I do not know, but it was appreciated. All in all, the monitor has done exactly what I have needed it to do. As stated, setup was a breeze, largely in part to the versatility of viewing angle, larger screen-size and height adjustment. The rotating feature is also neat, though I currently do not use it, but it is nice to have the option should I ever need it . While others may disagree, the unit really does not have a huge footprint. The legs are well-placed and have a notably degree of clearance for cables and cord if needed, while providing a very stable platform. This combined with convenient USB hub and "cable hook" — I cannot really call the latter "cable management" — allowed me to greatly improve my space efficiency. I highly recommend this monitor for anyone looking for a solidly built, versatile gaming monitor that delivers excellence performance.

This is an amazing monitor! I am so in love with the massive size and the super high quality that it displays. The design is beautiful and it looks like a piece of art. I’m so glad I got the 32 inch size instead of the 34 because it would have made my peripheral view uncomfortable with my setup. So make sure that you take size into account according to your desk setup. I can tilt and rotate the screen with its base in any way I need it and that is a huge plus! The stand is a space hog so make sure you have a deep desk to make use of it, otherwise you’d have to either mount it to the wall or use another desk mount. It comes with the necessary cables (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB Up-Stream) and a U clip that lets you route your mouse cable through it and it clips to either the left or right side of the bottom frame. Also, you might have some issues with entering Bios with the monitor using DisplayPort, so if you do, just do a search for CSM, secure boot or DisplayPort fix. It lets you select through different viewing modes like for gaming, HDR, reading, etc. which makes me love it even more. I connected my speakers directly to it and it also has 2 USB Down-stream ports that I connect my mouse or keyboard to. I have also connected my PS5 and Xbox Series X to play and of course I’m blown away! This is the best monitor ever and it’s such a great pleasure to own. I highly recommend it and you won’t be disappointed in the investment! Disclaimer: I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinions.

I bought this from Overclockers since it was out of stock on this site. The colors are good, the G-Sync feature is functional and the image quality is excellent. I prefer smaller monitors to achieve a higher DPI/DPD, but that's mostly subjective. However, for the price, I am disappointed by the stand. Not only does the stand have a very wide and deep footprint, making it unsuitable for short desks, it also is not a very good design. It lacks a tilt function (left/right movement), and only has c. 12 cm vertical motion. In addition, at its lowest elevation, the monitor is still roughly 10-12 cm from the top of the desk. I'm going to buy another stand for the monitor, but other than that, it's pretty good. Also, you may want to invest in a DisplayPort cable when buying, since the one it comes with is pretty short.
I purchased the LG 32GP850-B because I capture gameplay footage in HDR and edit that footage. My previous monitor didn’t have HDR so it was tough to see what I was editing until I uploaded it and watched it on a TV. This monitor has HDR so I can actually see what I’m editing correctly. This monitor is 1440p so I can see images nice and clearly and has a 165Hz refresh rate so games look amazing on it. On top of that, you can overclock the monitor to display at 185Hz which makes it even faster. I always plug my computer into a monitor using DisplayPort because it supports the highest frame rate and the monitor’s G-SYNC technology which reduces screen tearing when frame rates are higher. The Netflix Windows app even let me watch in HDR! You can also plug a USB cable from the monitor to your computer and use the high-speed USB ports on the monitor. The monitor comes with cables too, so you don’t need to go out and purchase a DisplayPort cable or an HDMI cable to use those features. It can also rotate 90 degrees to give you a smart phone orientation, if you are more comfortable with that for work documents in multiple windows. I am extremely happy with this monitor and would recommend it to all of my friends and family. DISCLAIMER: I received this product at a discounted price in return for my honest review.
I purchased this monitor as a secondary monitor after good experiences with other LG monitors, including the GL850 that this product is a refresh of. The panel quality is good, with minimal backlight bleed and no other display issues as far as I can tell, but there are two massive issues with this product that make it near unusable. 1. (Minor issue) LG has taken to providing a very short power adapter with the main power supply electronics in a large box at the wall plug (as opposed to either an internal power supply or one with cables coming out of each end). This makes the monitor take up significantly more space than it should on power bricks and required a rerouting of my monitor power because of how short the cable is. 2. This makes the monitor take up significantly more space than it should on power bricks and required a rerouting of my monitor power because of how short the cable is. 2. (MASSIVE ISSUE) Like some other LG monitors, this product has a broken implementation of "Deep Sleep" or DDC/CI, meaning that no matter what you do, when you turn off the monitor it will act as though it was disconnected, meaning that when you wake it back up, all your windows are moved and you get popups related to G-Sync. This is *every time* it gets turned off, even with all related updates installed. This is extremely annoying and often means that waking my computer up from sleep takes 45-60 seconds, exclusively because I have to wait for this monitor to reconnect while my screens all flash repeatedly. With this issue fixed, this monitor would be a 5/5 (like its predecessor). Without it, it's entirely unusable
I just set up my new monitor yesterday. Here's my setup: - VESA mounted (existing monitor arm) - Gaming PC connected via DP - Work laptop connected via HDMI I use the hardware "Button" to switch between sources, and a 3rd party KVMP switch for my keyboard and mouse. As my old KVMP does not support the full resolution and refresh rate of my new monitor, I have had to bypass it for video. The "Button" at the bottom of the screen is really easy to use, and the monitor's onboard firmware is easy and responsive. The monitor shipped with all the required cables including HDMI and DP cables. I needed to replace my old incompatible HDMI cable, so this was really convenient. Thankfully, the firmware is not loaded with bloatware, like some of LGs competitors like to do. All in all, I am super happy with my purchase, and would recommend it to anyone who uses one monitor for work and personal PCs/laptops.
TL:DR If you're on a budget and looking for a pretty decent monitor this fits the bill nicely. If you're a perfectionist this monitor might not be for you. Going from an old 1080P 60hz monitor this was a huge step up in terms of picture quality, speed and brightness. I liked the picture so much ended up purchasing 3 of these for a triple monitor setup. The plastic bezel seems fairly sturdy and the overall construction seems solid, I can't comment on the stands as I use a triple monitor vesa mount and never took the stands out of the box. They were fairly easy to overclock to 180hz using the nvidia control panel but I wish they included instructions with the monitor to do it. The downsides are that they seem to go into a deep sleep, and when you wake up your PC it ... MoreTL:DR If you're on a budget and looking for a pretty decent monitor this fits the bill nicely. They were fairly easy to overclock to 180hz using the nvidia control panel but I wish they included instructions with the monitor to do it. The downsides are that they seem to go into a deep sleep, and when you wake up your PC it detects the monitor no longer exists and moves all of your open windows around. I'd prefer the option to use a little more energy and have the monitors wake from sleep faster. The other downside is they have a popup in the top right of the screen every time they wake which shows your resolution followed by whether HDR is enabled. It's not like I reconnect my monitors to a new PC every time they go to sleep so I don't need to be made aware of the resolution every single time the monitor wakes up. There's plenty of threads on Reddit and other forums of users complaining of these issues with no action from LG. Both of these minor annoyances would seem to be an easy software fix but LG either doesn't care or more likely does not have the appropriate resources to update their software after release. At full MSRP I would probably recommend going with a brand that has better firmware/software but when these go on sale for less than 350 I'm willing to put up with the above minor issues.
Honestly its more than just a monitor in my book. The LG 32GP850-B is a very versatile monitor. The monitor supports 1440P resolution in HDR and works perfectly with the Xbox Series X|S consoles that support 1440P and FreeSync. The monitor has two HDMI 2.0 ports and 1 Display port 1.4 and has Aux-in for speaker system and a USB 3.0 hub built right in. The monitor came in a large box that showed what was being delivered just in case you wonder about how it ships to you. The monitor came a bit banged up on the sides but there is enough Styrofoam to protect it. The unboxing is simple and everything including the stand is laid out on the opposite of “this side front” for ease of access. I am personally not using the included stand, but the stand has cable management ... MoreHonestly its more than just a monitor in my book. The LG 32GP850-B is a very versatile monitor. The unboxing is simple and everything including the stand is laid out on the opposite of “this side front” for ease of access. I am personally not using the included stand, but the stand has cable management built into it and easy to mount and unmount on the back of the monitor with the included release button. Yes, the LG 32GP850-B supports VESA, and it is located inside the stand hole. The monitor supports G-SYNC and FreeSync in 160HZ with a PC and overclockable to 180HZ via the monitors built in settings. Which is awesome for some multiplayer FPS games like Call of Duty, Apex and Overwatch. I like that the monitor has a built-in hub for file transfer or to hook up your keyboard and mouse. I do not recommend plugging in things to be charge by the built-in hub because it does not have enough power output to charge a device like an iPhone or any phone in general. Like I stated before this is more then just a monitor and if you get a good stereo sound system and a good streaming device you can use it for not just gaming but for content like Netflix, Hulu, HBOMAX in HDR. I will recommend this monitor to my friends that also play MMORPGs and FPS games with me because of its great overall value with content. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.
I bought this after getting a 27GL850 and it had stuck pixels that you could see on every dark background, so I sent that one back and got this one. So far this monitor is beyond amazing. No dead or stuck pixels that I can see. No color shift on white backgrounds. There is a small amount of IPS glow in the top middle and bottom corners and a small bit of backlight bleed in the bottom left of the screen (can't see during normal viewing), but I'll take that any day over pixel or uniformity issues. The biggest plus with this monitor is that you don't have to turn off Adaptive/Freesync in order to get 1440p 120hz on Xbox Series X. You can have it on and it'll work as intended. That was my other big issue with the 27GL850 is that you had to turn that off in order for it ... MoreI bought this after getting a 27GL850 and it had stuck pixels that you could see on every dark background, so I sent that one back and got this one. I am coming from BenQ monitors that are 60hz with a TN panel and a VA panel, so this is a huge upgrade for me. I will update my review if anything changes but definitely go with this monitor over the 27GL850 if you intend on using it with an Xbox Series X. Now if these brands can figure out how to completely get rid of IPS glow and Back Light Bleed, these monitors would be perfect.
