Having two monitors for the past 5 years was good. It really helped with my productivity. Went to BB to check out some TV products and got lost in the computer monitor section. My friend recommended that I should try these new ultrawide monitors so I went ahead and "investigated" what's nice about these ultrawides. To make the long story short, bought this LG monitor and hooked it up. 5 minutes after using it, I quickly understand what my friend meant when he recommended the LG ultrawide monitor. -Bessel was so thin, its just perfect -Full HD HDR was just super crispy -No more annoying black line in between the two monitors. (This is the part that I love the most) For those of you who are still on the fence, just buy this monitor and test it out. Give it a shot. ... MoreHaving two monitors for the past 5 years was good. Disclaimer: This monitor was provided at a discounted price for my honest review. My review is for the 29WP500-B LG monitor. Starting off, I could tell the monitor was packed well. It comes in a regular cardboard box and when unpacked the monitor itself is encased by Styrofoam. Nothing moves that isn’t supposed to move. The monitor comes with the stand and screws to attach the monitor along with a cover. It unfortunately doesn’t come with a screwdriver but it’s easy to assemble and not a big deal since other monitors also don’t come with all the tools you would need to set it up. The stand has a curved footprint. It does have the ability to face it up or down. The monitor connections are primarily 2 HDMI inputs. It also uses a power adapter with the transformer at the plug (not an internal power supply) so if you were planning on using the regular 3 prong cable and you already have some cable management going, you’re going to have to re-do it. There is also no cable management system on the monitor stand itself. So you may see some cables. I’m sure you could get a monitor arm that would help with all of this. I was testing it with my older computer, a Macbook Air from 2012 through a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable and I could not for the life of me figure out how to get the right resolution out of it. I did, however, afterwards read that I had to get an active mini DisplaPort to HDMI adapter and it worked fine in the end. The controls on the monitor can be a little confusing. The monitor has joystick type controls which makes controlling the settings on the monitor a bit of a learning experience. If you aren’t familiar with it, it may cause you to have to try it out a bit before you get the hang of it. The colors are ok and what you would expect from an LG monitor. The refresh rate is ok as well for regular everyday computing (not gaming). Overall, I would say it's a good monitor and well worth the price.

The LG 24BK550Y 23.8 Full HD IPS Monitor is a great looking screen with some very nice features. First of the way access the screen menu is done by a single little joystick under the screen which you move about and push in to select this makes it so much easier than a row of buttons you blindly hit and get frustrated at when you press the wrong one and it takes you out the settings you were trying to adjust. The ability to change the height on the stand so quickly and effortlessly is a real plus and you would think it would start to sag but it stays constantly at the level you set it at without need of pressing any buttons and fighting with it to go where you want it. The set up was simple and easy requiring no tools stand goes on and you can do up the screws with your hands as they have a small clip you can twist and the screen clips on and feels very sturdy. The screen on the stand feels stable and well designed. The frame around the screen is slim and looks very sleek giving off a very professional look which looks great in my home office. The speakers are not the best even at max volume due to positioning they are not that loud, but I never use the inbuilt speakers on screens, so this is something does not really worry me at all. I have been using the screen mainly for document use over the last week I have been doing reports for work and I find the screen very well suited for this I have also watched videos and streams again finding the images sharp thanks to the IPS screen. The ways you can connect to the screen are great with three different connectors HDMI, USB C and display port, I stick to the simple HDMI port which gave me no problems at all. The screen being 23.8inch is a great size for a office use or even someone who is working from home and needs a screen what can do it all. Another great product LG!

It's a great monitor overall, though I should've bought the higher refresh rate model. It was a bit bright, so I played around with the brightness and HDR, and it's been much better. Was surprised to see speakers included, they're decent enough. 21:9 was a bit wack at the start with all the black bars, but it's overall pretty fine. You might be a bit surprised on how big the monitor actually is, smaller or curved desks may have a bit of trouble accommodating this monitor. Picture quality is great, can't really complain too much. Comes with 2 usb ports at the back, 2 hdmi, display port, and a hdmi cable included. It's really easy to assemble, and it's not very heavy. This format really is a game changer. I've always used dual monitors, but have grown frustrated with the amount of desk space they take up. This monitor allows me to just have one monitor and divide the screen in half for sid-by-side viewing. I also do a lot of excel work and being able to have the additional horizontal workspace is a game changer. Far less scrolling. I've been using this monitor for a couple of weeks and have tried the Reader Mode. I've noticedthat my eyes aren't as tired at the end of the day The picture is amazing as every once in a while I'll stream some content and the picture pciks up the HDR content really well. I haven't started using it for gaming yet, but am exited to see how it performs. The monitor is a great value and I'm glad that I ... MoreThis format really is a game changer. I tried three monitors in home with this being my third and final decision. I am very happy with it. I started with a 32" 16:9 screen that I thought would be all I need. I was disappointed however that a 16:9 didn't actually give me more screen real estate, but just made everything on my laptop screen larger. (Yes, this was my first ever monitor purchase, total beginner here). My primary goal with this monitor is to use it with a docking station for my laptop for when I want a desktop feel/experience but using my laptop to run it all. I then tried an ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio with 29" screen as I thought going down a few inches but gaining the wideness would about even out. I was wrong again. I then tried an ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio with 29" screen as I thought going down a few inches but gaining the wideness would about even out. I was wrong again. The 29" ultrawide unfortunately seemed tiny once I get used to the 32" 16:9. It was just so short, super wide, but really short. I got spoiled with the height of the 32" regular screen and couldn't be satisfied with the 29" ultrawide which is ultimately what led me to the 34" ultrawide 21:9 that I am reviewing here and currently run. I love it and found that it is the ultimate size for my setup with both adequate height (just slightly shorter than the 32" regular screen) and I love the ultrawide design. It gives me the ability to have three word documents pulled up next to each other at the same exact time while keeping the word documents to 100% view. It really has been a game changer for me and I'd say anyone thinking of trying an ultrawide will probably never go back to a 16:9 one you try this. It also makes running Microsoft Excel amazing with all the space left and right. I am now seeing more of my spreadsheet at full scale. It's awesome. it also gives me the ability to have a full size word document up on the right side while having a full size Excel screen to the left so I can input data more efficiently without ever having to pan back and forth between tabs anymore. Also the quality of this screen seems awesome. I can attest that the IPS does look quite a lot better than the VA panel now that I have tried both. Overall I give it a 5 out of 5 and highly recommend it. I also found it is the best value in the ultrawide category as anything bigger and better than this started to get very high priced.
I initially purchased this monitor for my work-from-home setup and I have to say I am truly impressed. I actually started using this monitor as my primary for my laptop. The color replication is amazing with sRGB 99% (Typ.) and HDR10. I enjoy watching movies while I work or just have youtube on in the back group but the true benefit is when you use the screen split feature. It's easy to work on multiple windows at once. A key feature to note is that it has a low blue light feature which helps with long sessions in front of a computer. The 29" ultrawide IPS display is a true beauty, with a resolution of 2560x1080. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a primary monitor with content creators in mind or anyone who needs to have two excel sheets up ... MoreI initially purchased this monitor for my work-from-home setup and I have to say I am truly impressed. I picked this up on sale to use with my Macbook Pro while working from home. I wanted a display that could easily display two spreadsheets side-by-side without causing me headaches. I really wanted to like this monitor. It appears to be really well built, with an attractive design and a fairly sturdy base. However, the resolution on this monitor was not high enough to meet my needs. I'm used to staring at high-resolution Mac displays all day. My primary is a 5k iMac, and I also have an M1 MacBook Pro. Both have high resolution retina displays. This LG Ultrawide maxes out at 2560x1080. The 13.3" MacBook Pro display native resolution is 2560x1600. The MacBook Pro display has a pixel density of 227ppi while this LG UltraWide has a pixel density of 82ppi. To put that into perspective, the MacBook Pro display has 48% MORE pixels in a screen that is roughly 1/5 the size. What this means is it is a low-resolution display, the screen elements are all really large (somewhat adjustable) and the text is difficult to read compared to a high resolution display. If you're used to staring at high resolution displays, I highly recommend turning your gaze towards the QHD version of the LG 34" Ultrawide, which has a much better image quality. I would really only consider this display if used ONLY for gaming and playing videos.
After 28 days of my initial purchase, I had a serious issue with this monitor. I reached out to LG for assistance and they could not resolve. I had an image from a website lock itself in place. We tried resetting, unplugging, running with no input. Nothing worked. The image was frozen in place but appeared very similar to a QCR code image. Only way to describe it. LG said they would send a shipping label and I would have to figure out how to send or pay UPS to package, as I tossed the box. They advised to go back to Best Buy and attempt exchange as they may except so I left monitor unplugged and figured I would head over in the AM. Next morning, I turned on to check and the image was slightly less pronounced. I rolled the dice and left powered down another day and Sunday morning the image was gone. Very strange as this has never happened to me before and I have owned at least 20 monitors since the 80’s! I thought I dodged a bullet but now I notice the brightness tends to flicker from time to time, and when it does, it is very noticeable and distracting. I can only hope if this thing does die, it does it within the next year so I can send to LG and get a replacement because now Best Buy will not exchange, as it’s beyond their acceptance period. Bottom line, I would seek alternative monitors, as this one has proven problematic in a short time. I have given three stars as the monitor looks good and fits my desk space nicely. Sadly, it has less than a hundred hours in it and is not meeting my expectations. I have owned plenty of LG products, TV’s, phones, refrigerator, microwave, dual oven range. This one falls short.
I have been working with multiple computer for years. My work involves reviewing documents, video, audio and taking notes and creating reports as I go. What a mess with lots of cords and space for all those screens! Recently I heard about using one ultra wide screen as multiple screens. I purchased the LG 34WP500-B recently to use with two laptops. This has worked beautifully!! So easy, one hdmi connection to each laptop, makes it all neat and tidy. I downloaded the onScreen Controller which gives me many choices of screen configurations so I can easily have everything displayed as I need for the project I’m working on. This monitor has been a game changer for me, improving my productivity tremendously!!! So happy I tried it!!
