My family received this television mid-afternoon, and it beckoned to us from its box until after dinner that night. My spouse and I were easily able to lift the display from its very-secure packaging, lay it flat on a soft cloth on our table, and installed a center-mount VESA stand within five minutes. We have decided to temporarily put it on a mantle in our office, instead of hanging it on the wall, as we may be moving in the near future. The body of the 65G2 is incredibly slim. The glass seems to go from edge to edge, with only the slimmest glimmer of a shiny silver border when viewed from the front. From the side, that same silver border looks like a high-end art frame. We've had multiple people comment on how classy it looks. We've had multiple people comment on how classy it looks. My spouse completed the setup process using the LG app on his phone. Beyond its beautiful exterior styling, the image and sound quality of the 65G2 second-to-none. We also own the 2021 LG 48C1, and we have been shocked to discover that the G2 seems to produce an even better (brighter) picture, and seemingly larger sound using the built-in speakers. Our family has been watching a ton of streaming shows and 4k movies via the built-in apps. The WIFI signal is exceptionally good even though our router is far away. I have never had an issue with buffering or stuttering video while using the 65G2. We have also been playing a lot of games as a family on this gorgeous TV. The built-in gaming mode which auto detects when our current-gen console turns on is a wonderful feature. You haven't gamed until you've played at 4k 120FPS on the LG 65G2. There is no going back :) I really enjoy the Magic Remote, which we have all found to be very intuitive. Our guests have no trouble using it the very first time they've picked it up. The built-in voice assistants from several major companies is a really nice touch. Too lazy to pick up the remote? You can turn the volume up with your voice, or have it launch your favorite app, etc. Ready for bed? You can ask the voice assistant to turn off the tv for you, and boom, it does! There is nothing about this TV that I would like to see changed. I can't wait until we are in our next home and we can hang it on the wall like the piece of art it is. I received this television at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion.

Wow, what a unit! LGs flagship OLED really has not disappointed. From the unboxing experience to wall mounting, this TV has definitely impressed!! The unboxing was easy and intuitive, with specified grab points clearly marked as to not damage the tv. Mounting was easy even for someone that would usually have hired an electrician. The wall mount allows the tv to sit super flush to the wall, which adds to the already minimal thin aesthetic. The tv has all the bells and whistles you'd expect. Next gen gaming is super enhanced with inbuilt ‘game mode’ which features ultra low latency as well as a 120hz refresh display. Watching cinema is also a cut above on the LG G2 OLED with dolby vision support and high brightness HDR. My partner and I find it hard to justify going ... MoreWow, what a unit! Other than the main features and contrast you would expect with an OLED, which by the way is the best it’s ever been, the other nice-ities include the motion controlled remote and inbuilt screen modes for different viewing preferences and content. I thought i would hate the motion control remote but now it’s something i can’t do without and regular remotes bug me. The only con i can see with this tv is the large space between the scroll wheel on the remote that may collect dust and dirt over time. Other than that, if you are looking for an OLED tv and this is within your price range, it’s a no brainer. A totally future proof and current TV.

I've been a die hard Sony fan nearly all my life and the only LG product I owned was a very impressive fridge freezer. I was very fortunate to have an opportunity to change my TV and having looked at the current Sony master series OLED's ,I was given a demonstration of the LG G2 and that was it , design wise it's exactly what I like ,it's mounted on a wall and it blends into the surroundings when required or takes centre stage when needed. The recent updates have improved picture quality once more over an already stunning picture. Sound for TV speakers isn't bad at all , it's worth playing about with sound modes a bit, I feel it's definitely built for either a decent soundbar or full system to be used alongside I've turned off energy saving for movies as this panel ... MoreI've been a die hard Sony fan nearly all my life and the only LG product I owned was a very impressive fridge freezer. So far three months in , I can't think of any major negative reasons to avoid , SDR images look so good and I've found myself watching films again on blu ray and marveling at how good they look in filmmaker mode , I've only experienced black crush on the 1990 TMNT film where the source material is at fault but compared to my AG9 this TV makes the film look even more stunning some how ! Panel reflection is handled pretty well . I don't have a DTS enabled soundbar but this TV will pass it through as LPCM to my B&W Panarama 3 , so I'm guessing if you have a soundbar with multiple connection points you can hook up a media player Which will bypass the TV or just go straight to an audio system to solve the problem. Something to think about if you've a lot of blu rays that are DTS track only or streaming services with DTS and no Dolby Apart from the above, streaming and direct media are incredible to watch on this TV , it handles bright rooms well too I'm very happy to have made the purchase! The remote is very nice but I'd like illuminated buttons even if it remains plastic, still voice control works a treat unless the TV is very loud but these are minor niggles Neat cable management system keeps it sitting flush on the wall too.

I’ve had the television for about a month and have been extremely happy so far. The picture quality is excellent, even when using a device that caps out at 1080p. The size of the tv can emphasis the graininess of this lower resolution, especially up close. But the picture still looks great from a normal viewing distance at this resolution. 4K pictures look absolutely stunning. I have a PS5 hooked up to this tv, and I find myself just stopping to admire scenic views in games with great visuals much more so on this OLED screen than my previous 4k LED screen. The built in features and menus are useful and easy to access. I use a sound bar, but did initially test the tv speakers and they sounded pretty good for built-in speakers. I have experienced only very minor drawbacks with this set. The included wall-mount is very sturdy and works great, keeping the tv virtually flush with the wall for that gallery-style look. The mount does allow the tv to come away from the wall to access the back panel, although it is a little bit difficult to get it to come out and to push it back. I always feel a little worried pushing on the tv, as it does require some force to move and the mount connects to the tv in what is almost its very center. The included remote is great, although I find the the cursor-style pointer option to be a little finicky and not as easy to use as I feel it could be. This is easily by-passable. These minor issues aside, this set has been the perfect addition.
The picture quality is exceptional in every way, it is by far the clearest, richest TV we have ever seen. The Streaming options and LG channels are also a great bonus. The software driving the TV is very clunky. We have used the TV with every smart feature turned on, with every feature off, and with selected features activated. Consistently, the most annyoing feature is the Dolby vision and recommendations for content based on its format. If you prefer Vivid as your default setting, the software will still auto.atically change to gaming or recommend alternative settings even when you have the "auto" features turned off. Consistently, the most annyoing feature is the Dolby vision and recommendations for content based on its format. If you prefer Vivid as your default setting, the software will still auto.atically change to gaming or recommend alternative settings even when you have the "auto" features turned off. A particular annoyance is with gaming - on the Xbox, it automatically changes to Dolby Vision Game mode, and if you set it to Vivid, it will keep that setting until you go to you home menu. Even if you stay in the game and just bring up the home menu overlay for Xbox, when you return to the game it resets the picture to Dolby Game mode. We completely deactivated Game settings from the TV menu, and AI control of picture baaed on content, and it still does it. The picture smoothing lag when watching regular TV is annoying - taking up to 15-30 seconds at times to bring the channel into focus. The remote control is severly disappointing to say the least. It doesn't learn other components very well, it fails the search automatically, and even when the specific device model number is entered/selected from manual search, it doesn't control the device. eARC with a Denon Receiver was also disappointing. The TV does not control cable box, or DVD player through eARC as it should. We have to keep all remotes available for when those components get used. Overall review is a 3 star based on overall user experience. The picture is by far a 5 star, but the user interface is a 2.
If you’ve been holding onto an older TV and biding time for the perfect upgrade, as I was for nearly a decade, then it’s time to celebrate. The long wait is over, as LG’s G2 OLED delivers a breathtaking viewing experience inside a slim and sophisticated package. Coming from a plasma TV, I already enjoyed the benefits of a high-contrast picture, but the G2 takes things to a whole new level. Its OLED panel has astonishing range, from absolute black to piercing bright white, without any of the blooming or haloing effects that show up on other screen technologies. In addition, the G2’s colors appear beautifully vibrant and yet perfectly natural, free of any artificial emphasis or exaggeration. In addition, the G2’s colors appear beautifully vibrant and yet perfectly natural, free of any artificial emphasis or exaggeration. LG’s webOS smart TV interface is among the best that I’ve used, despite its somewhat over-cluttered home screen. All of the major streaming platforms are available here, and everything feels very quick and responsive. I especially like that LG’s motion-control Magic Remote adds intuitive point-and-click capabilities to all my favorite streaming apps. Picking a show and fast-forwarding to a specific moment has never been easier. Physically, the G2 is beautifully made yet surprisingly lightweight and easy to handle. Wall-mounting hardware is included, but a table-top stand is available separately, and the TV also accepts 300mm VESA attachments. Connectivity is excellent, with all four HDMI 2.1 ports supporting the TV’s complete feature set (essential for modern gaming consoles). HDMI-ARC sound output to my AV receiver works well, although I do wish that the TV could handle DTS sound formats or at least pass them through. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the LG G2. It’s simply a joy to behold, and the OLED panel’s uncompromising picture quality has re-awakened my passion for watching TV and movies at home.
The LG G2 is no doubt expensive but worthy of its price and quality. It provides a magical door to a new definition of home cinema that was not possible before. The experience may be confused for a real cinema. It is the perfect all-rounder for the family with eye-popping cinema quality 4k that is processed by the alpha 9 gen 5 chip, resulting in an unmissable experience backed by great pumped sound that is class-leading in terms of built-in speakers. Additionally, it provides a smooooth gaming experience through 4K at 120hz with OLED blacks and excellent processing from Alpha 9 Gen 5, creating an immersive experience/reality. Additionally, it provides a smooooth gaming experience through 4K at 120hz with OLED blacks and excellent processing from Alpha 9 Gen 5, creating an immersive experience/reality. The setup was easy, although a tutorial of the picture settings would have been nice and is quite lacking; the current implementation of each setting being explained when you hover the cursor over it, isn't enough. The tv has a powerful panel and beastly chip, which most users would love to take full advantage of. Thus, it would have been nice to see a tutorial of how to change each picture quality setting to make them work well in conjunction. The option of an included stand instead of the wall mount is also lacking and it would of been nice to be able to choose one of them when checking out out without having to spend another $300 to get the original OEM one. The management and upscaling of live tv is a bit poor for the price and should be improved. Additionally, the cursor sometimes takes a while to disappear, it would be nice to be able to click the back button or shake the controller to make the cursor disappear. WebOS is mostly well optimised, and the magic remote is excellent. It would be nice to see improvement in the LG ThinkQ voice recognition system. Furthermore, it would be good to see how much storage and ram is used in the settings. The AI sound system is great, although it still needs improvement. Overall, I would definitely recommend this tv.
I was deciding between C2 and G2 for our new home and decided on G2 as the fully flushed wall mounting is an extremely attractive proposition for the LG OLED G series, and not to mention not needing to think about which mount to purchase as well. The TV stand not being included in the G2 series sold in Australia is not a big miss for us unlike the previous G1 model that we purchased last year, but I'd imagine you may have to form up your own opinion about this omission. As G2 was selected because of the plan to wall mount the TV, not having the stand is actually a blessing as we don't have to deal with the stand littering our storage (and it's environmentally sound too). As G2 is using a similar panel to G1 TV that I purchased last year, there is no glaringly noticeable improvement that I can witness from TV panel performance point of view. LG has set the bar quite high in this regard. I cannot wait to see what improvements LG will bring with their OLED EX panel in the future. Several improvements on the software front are very much welcomed, things like Always Ready, Room to Room, Multi View, etc. I wished LG would bring these apps to G1 series too in case the hardware supports it. Placements of two HDMI input ports on the side vs bottom of the TV will require additional considerations when choosing HDMI cable so that they will remain invisible, I don't think this is a good change from G1 though. I purchased two TVs for each bedroom, and one arrived with a defective panel. The retailer swapped it without lots of fuss, but it will be so much better if either build quality and handling can be improved for such a delicate appliance.
For the past year, we have been the proud owners of the 2021 LG 48C1 OLED. We did not think there could possibly be any room left for improvement, but the 2022 LG 65G2 has proven us wrong. The image produced is incredibly bright. The brightest OLED display we have ever seen. Every single detail can be seen whether we are watching it on a sunny afternoon, or a midnight movie marathon with all the lights off. The infinite contrast between every adjacent pixel means that every image just seems to pop off the screen. The little details you never knew were there in movies you've watched a dozen times before never fail to delight, making what's old seem new once again. The little details you never knew were there in movies you've watched a dozen times before never fail to delight, making what's old seem new once again. The initial setup was a breeze, offering us the ability to complete the process via the included Magic Remote or via the LG ThinQ app on our phones. Within minutes we had registered the TV to our existing LG account, and moved through the logins/passwords for all of our favorite streaming services. Each of the most-loved/popular streaming apps are available to you directly on the TV, with no need to connect an external streaming device. We particularly enjoy watching 60-frame-per-second 4k HDR videos. We have seen streams with bandwidth as high as 215MBit/second over wifi, so I can attest that the built-in WiFi works extremely well, several rooms away from the router. We tend to keep the TV in "Filmmaker Mode," as that presents the images exactly as the creators intended for them to be viewed with minimal-to-no processing. The video quality is mind-blowing. We have seen no evidence of black crush, with plenty of detail found in the shadows regardless of video source. For audio, we have not yet hooked the TV up to a soundbar, but we have chosen to use the "A.I. Sound Pro" feature because it really seems to amplify the sound in an intelligent way that adds to our listening experience. I think the feature that plays sound from the TV which is then recorded by the microphones in the Magic Remote in order to learn about the acoustics of your room is simply next-level technology. Everything just works. I highly recommend you trying that out. We have a current-generation gaming console hooked up to one of the 4k120 HDMI ports, and the handful of games we've seen running at 4k120FPS is a glimpse into the future, but today. We also appreciate the Game Optimizer function that automatically switches on when the console is used. Every member of our family, from 9 to 40 simply loves this TV
This TV has irreversibly changed my expectations of high end display and image quality for the rest of my days. Firstly, the thin build of the panel leaves you wondering, HOW IN THE WORLD DOES THIS DO THAT!? The housing for the electronic magic that powers and holds the cutting edge processor and display technology is minimal and a provides room for enhanced buitl in audio. The standard mounting system is a delightful sight and I did not have to drastically change my TV mounting bracket to utilize the montior mounting points for a flawless and minimal cable management install. This unit is by far the most immersive, the clearest, the darkest, the brightest, the smoothest, the crispest, the standard setting model of TV I have ever had the pleasure of owning. You will absolutley regret buying the very TV that as a child you wished that one day, when you walked through the store to see the brightest and biggest TV that you have ever seen and you vowed that one day it would be yours. This was my childhood tech store endcap display TV dream and those expectations were COMPELTELY shattered when reality proved to be so much sweeter. A huge thank you to LG for developing and making possible all the features and quality that this unit delivers.
