Another top OLED TV from LG

Having owned one of LGs OLED TVs before I had an expectation that this new LG C4 OLED would be of a high quality but the step up and development over the last few years has been larger than I expected. This is really a top TV built to last a long time with a range of smart features built in.The set up of the TV is straight forward, minimal steps are required if you are using the stand, and the TV itself has a really user- friendly set up process, this guides you through user creation, picture, sound, network and streaming services. Within around 15 minutes I had set up my internet connection, signed into a host of streaming services and set up a picture profile. Within around 15 minutes I had set up my internet connection, signed into a host of streaming services and set up a picture profile. The TV looks very impressive, with small bezels around the edges and it does feel very much like a giant photo frame. The only slight negative is the stand, for such a large set I think a wider stand would look better, this is still fine and more personal preference. The controller is the same as many other LG’s, it is effective and simple to use with quick buttons for streaming sites such as Netflix, Prime video, Disney+ and more. If there was one downside I would say the back has a really shiny plastic and from past experience I know this scratches super easy. Not a major issue but considering the price and quality of the TV, the controller doesn’t quite match that standard. The picture quality of the TV is the real stand out. OLED TV’s always have amazingly deep black tones, and this is exactly the same with brilliant contrast. However, where this improves on previously OLED’s is the brightness, it is considerably brighter than my previous LG OLED. Allowing for better viewing, deeper contrasts and improved range of colour.Another area of improvement is the sound, this is by no means better than a sound bar or dedicated setup, however it has far greater range than previous LG TV’s and also to me seems to get much louder. The TV has a raft of built in features such as Chromecast, which is great as my partner uses a fitness app and can now cast directly to the TV without needing a dongle. LG’s webOS operating system has developed over time and again is very simple to use, with a row of your apps which can be customised to your needs.Overall, I am very pleased with this TV, Watching films and TV has never looked so good, with improved sound and all the feature proof features you will need for many years to come. I would highly recommend .

Fantastic sound and awesome viewing!

When I ordered this C Series I was sceptical if I should I buy another LG OLED tv, as how could they improve such a nice tv. However I did go ahead and buy this LG OLED C4 series and when it did arrive I wasn’t really impressed with the look of the packaging as it didn’t give me much excitement to look at a plain box, it could have been more colourful and printed but I guess to save the environment it came without any colours. After setting up the TV, I realised that the sound quality has improved so much, by this I mean the depth of sound and at low volume it just sounded so loud. Also the picture quality is very impressive too, it just looks crystal clear and there are different presets available for different viewings. Also the picture quality is very impressive too, it just looks crystal clear and there are different presets available for different viewings. The brightness is very good and impressive along with the HDR setting which sets it alight from other tv’s that I’ve used. The viewing angles from the sides is just as impressive as looking from the front as the colours don’t fade. The good thing about this tv is that it has 4 hdmi ports which are all 144 hertz and are good for gamers along with the dashboard that can be used while playing so I could change the settings to suit the game I am playing. The remote for this tv is similar to the previous model I had and it looks too plastic and cheap but it does have good functions as the pointer is helpful when I want to select things and it also has a scrawler along with one touch buttons to some regular apps that I use to watch films. This tv also supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos and that makes a lot of difference when watching certain programs and playing games. However there are a few things that I’m not really impressed with that they could have changed from the previous model I had and that was the power cable which is set permanent and can’t be made long so it could be short from your socket and also the ports are all on one side of the tv as before they were split on the back and some on the left side to connect your devices. The rear design of the tv doesn’t feel premium as it has a cement type effect which is very rough and not smooth to touch at all. The remote could have been changed to make it feel more premium such as adding metal or titanium as it feels too plastic and cheap. Since using this tv there are too many updates and it just feels annoying to wait while the tv is updating but at least it feels like the updates will make the experience better so it’s worthwhile doing these frequently.Fantastic tv overall.

The TV arrived well packed and setting it up was a breeze, especially with the LG ThinQ app. The LG is also light in weight compared to my previous OLED, weighing in just under 17kg. I was sceptical of the quality of the TV that I had just unboxed- How wrong I was! The step-by-step ThinQ app instructions made installation effortless, including WiFi setup and agreeing to terms and conditions. The process of checking for and applying the software updates was seamless. Personalizing the TV with my preferred apps was straightforward. When 4K content was played, especially when paired with HDR, the picture quality was breathtaking. The sound quality exceeded expectations, particularly with the AI Pro feature offering an immersive experience and Gaming on the TV was truly remarkable, delivering stunning visuals. Some of the gaming visuals on this LG are absolutely stunning. The minimal bezels and slim design add a touch of class to wall mounting this 65” beauty. Without hesitation I can highly recommend this 2024 LG C4 OLED, especially in the 65-inch size. Having spent a few days with it, I'm thoroughly impressed and look forward to enjoying many more viewing experiences, looks like LG has a new fan!

This TV is probably the best TV of 2024 so far. With incredible features such as Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, " true black", HDR10, and many others, this TV is the way to go for anyone with a next-gen console. The setup process for this TV was a breeze. The material used to wrap everything was simplistic but also felt premium at the same time.It is also recommended to have at least two people working on the setup, as the TV is heavier than it looks and you would also want to avoid grabbing the TV by the screen.Following the installation manual was not as straightforward as I would like, because the manual is the same one used for other TV sizes, so it can be a bit confusing, but because there aren't that many parts, it becomes quite obvious after a while. After the ... MoreThis TV is probably the best TV of 2024 so far. The stand is quite sturdy and the finishing is impressive, with a few places to group cables here and there, so it all looks quite organized.Once that is all done, the real magic begins. Turning the TV on makes it go through a few steps in a setup wizard, which makes everything quite easy. The process can take a few minutes though, given there is a lot of features that can be configured, but it was definitely worth the time. With the configuration out of the way, it was time to test it. And I can certainly say the image quality did not disappoint. There are a few things here and there that need to be adjusted to get the most out of it, such as disabling some energy-saving features (which come by default), but all in all, there are many ways to configure the TV, and when properly used it can generate the best image on the market. With extremely sharp and crip images, vivid colours and an amazing processor to back it all up and make navigating the menus a breeze. Speaking of menus, I must mention the impressive game dashboard, which is a menu built for gamers, that allows them to make the most out of the next-gen console features available in the market right now, giving us control and the possibility to change our gaming experience drastically.

I have had a few days with the new LG C4 OLED and I am now ready to give my initial impressions. The last LG model I had was the C2 so I only have this to compare it to.If you like your TVs ultra thin then this might be the tv for you, using a tape measure this tv at its narrowest point is only 1/4 inch thick and at its widest about 1.8 inches, it just looks stunning. One thing I did notice when putting the Tv together is that the power cable is permanently attached this shouldn’t be a problem but it something to consider if you are wall mounting you TV as you will have to route the cable first.Round the back this time it has all the usual connections but now has 4 HDMI ports which all appear to be HDMI 2.1 this is great if you have more than one games console ... MoreI have had a few days with the new LG C4 OLED and I am now ready to give my initial impressions. One thing I did notice when putting the Tv together is that the power cable is permanently attached this shouldn’t be a problem but it something to consider if you are wall mounting you TV as you will have to route the cable first.Round the back this time it has all the usual connections but now has 4 HDMI ports which all appear to be HDMI 2.1 this is great if you have more than one games console to connect. Where as before you had to swap the connectors out when using a PS% and XBOX to get the best picture out of them. The first thing you notice when you turn this tv on is the brightness, It so much lighter and visible in a bright room. If you have and sort of direct sunlight on the screen it doesnt really cause any problems. I believe this TV has over 1000 nits of brightness which is fantastic for this type of tv placement.Booting up the tv and the new Webos the new interface its very well organised and navigation friendly offering neatly organised tiles in a familiar but defiantly improved OS. The remote hasn’t changed much if at all but it’s still easy to use and well labelled up with the usual quick buttons to the popular apps. The picture when watching content from Netflix or Disney in Dolby Vision or HDR is as ever fantastic, the colours are rich and vibrant and just look fantastic on this TV. The only thing missing is HDR 10+ but I don’t think that will bother too many people. Another good thing is it doesn’t seem to matter where you sit in the room the picture remains perfect and the same the viewing angle is great. The sound has had a bit of an upgrade but as with most flat tv’s the sound is never great. LG has definitely put some work into the new tv as the sound is clear and has a decent enough bass but it’s not close to how good a separate soundbar sounds. The E-arc connection to the soundbar works perfectly without issue and goes through all the formats Dolby Atmos , DTS etc without any problems what so ever. If you did need to use the onboard speakers though the sound is ok and more than bearable believe me theres a lot worse out there.Overall this is a stunning TV with the best picture I’ve seen on an OLED and look forward to plonking myself on the couch in front of it.

LG’s C4 - An Excellent OLED TV
9 July 2024

The LG C4 is a wonderful TV that arrives well packaged with a stand mount for those not wall mounting. Unlike LG’s G-series, which lacks this solution, the C4 includes it. The back of the TV features a speckled, brown-grey texture, adding elegance to my setup. The bezels are incredibly thin, enhancing the immersive experience.I encountered a minor setup issue where the wizard wouldn’t load the terms and conditions, and skipping didn’t work. After five minutes, I restarted the TV and used the LG ThinQ app, which, combined with the Magic Remote, streamlined the setup. Adjusting picture settings makes the TV shine, with Filmmaker mode being the most accurate out of the box. Adjusting picture settings makes the TV shine, with Filmmaker mode being the most accurate out of the box. Disabling some EU-mandated energy-saving settings further boosts brightness, with warnings about increased power consumption, common across all brands. The image quality is stunning, with the OLED panel delivering infinite contrast blacks and vibrant colors. Motion handling shows LG’s investment in image processing. Although image burn-in is a concern, improvements and features like pixel shifting help alleviate fears. My previous LG OLED suffered screen burn after six years, so I hope this model fares better.Smart home features are extensive, with all major subscription packages available within the webOS software. Navigation is fast, and the Magic Remote offers gyroscopic control and traditional buttons. Physical connectivity is ample, with four HDMI 2.1 ports. The C4 supports Dolby Vision and 120Hz 4K for gamers, working seamlessly with my PS5.Sound quality is as expected from a slim panel, with average bass, mids, and highs. Investing in a soundbar is recommended. The TV remote lives up to its ‘Magic’ name, offering the best on the market with voice control and pointer mode.A downside is the screen’s reflectivity, causing glare in bright rooms. The C4’s brightness is a significant upgrade, with the LG G-series as its main competitor. Another negative is the advertisements within the operating system, which are distracting and unnecessary in such an expensive device.Overall, the LG C4 is a fantastic TV likely to serve well for years, with LG continuing to raise the bar in TV development.

OLED Blew my mind
21 May 2024

This is my first OLED TV ever and I have to say this TV is completely mind blowing. I upgraded from an old LCD TV that was decent when it came out, but when I got this TV it made the older one look and feel like a dinosaur. I had heard many great things about OLED TV's from my family members that have it and this TV exceeded my expectations. The first thing I noticed immediately upon opening the box is how crazy THIN the actual TV is, I was honestly scared to even try picking it up but when I did it was surprisingly light and felt very sturdy, I obviously had my Mom help me pick it up because of its size. Setting up the TV was a breeze with the included instructions and only required attaching the stand with some screws. Setting up the TV was a breeze with the included instructions and only required attaching the stand with some screws. One thing that really caught my eye and amazed me is the design on the back of the TV that looks like its made of granite or some stone. One of the many things that I really liked about the TV was the included magic remote that has the ability to control like a computer mouse with its pointer making it very easy to navigate the menus and whatnot. Another thing I really liked was how loud the TV gets even on low volume, that can be attributed to the AI sound pro mode which filled the room with sound as if I had a surround sound system. Now onto the main star of the show which is the actual picture quality and it does not disappoint one bit. Colors when watching 4K content on the TV are so vivid and lifelike that it immersed me in whatever I was watching. When watching movies that have Dolby Vision, it was a real delight because of how natural and real everything on screen looked. I also loved that the TV has all my favorite streaming apps so I have access to watching whatever I want with ease. It's hard to explain every amazing feature of this TV but I know full well that anyone that buys this TV is going to love it and I would recommend it to anyone.

OLED Doesn't Disappoint!
30 May 2024

The LG C4 series of 4K OLED TV's is an incredible experience. The near infinite contrast ratio of OLED coupled with fantastic brightness levels make this TV a very enjoyable experience in any room. This TV does not leave me wanting for more brightness – at all. Even in a bright room the antireflective coating (which somehow still looks glossy and doesn’t seem to affect sharpness like most others) coupled with some impressive brightness numbers makes for a truly sublime viewing experience.I am using the 65 inch version as a bedroom TV where it replaces a conventional LED-LCD TV (also an LG). As an avid enjoyer of sci-fi series such as The Expanse, the backlight bleed and rather bright black levels of the old LCD even with region dimming made for a noticeable and dismal experience with longer dark scenes. This C4 OLED may not have the retina melting brightness of a miniled but due to the unbelievable contrast ratio maximum brightness is still much too bright for a dark room. I have settled on 65 for brightness for night time use - bright scenes are still very bright, HDR transitions for bright scenes are still significant enough to make you momentarily squint but not so much that they detract from the viewing experience. This LG C4 OLED model has some impressive AI driven features intended to improve content on the fly, and from what I have tested they do very well at what they are intended for. Motion is silky smooth and almost feels like native 50/60fps content even when critiques attentively. Whilst all this tech is extremely impressive especially compared to how clunky it has been implemented on TVs of yesteryear, I have a preference for zero or minimal manipulation of the source content by the viewing device. For SDR content isf-darkroom has been my go-to choice, for HDR filmmaker mode appears most true to source. The picture, brightness, viewing angles, colour, etc are exquisite and leave little to want. However there are a few minor issues. The magic remote does take some getting used to and even after that it is only adequate. It does not feel as premium as a TV of this calibre deserves. All in all I am more satisfied with this TV than any previous TV I have purchased, it really does deliver what it promises and more.

Richer Sounds+ LG TV: great combo

Picture quality is outstanding, sound is captivating and many AI and smart features, it was the best 2024 TV option for me and my particular requirements.2) After sales. The delivery was prompt and accommodating and the price was matching at the time the best offer in the market. But it was during a technical query a few days later, that I happen to comment the fact that I had seen a lower price somewhere else ( in fact £249.00 cheaper). This was more a comment on passing by than a remark or query, but Richer Sounds (Steve @ Reading branch) took this on board and honoured their matching promise, result: a surprised 😯 and very, very happy 😊 customer.I have been a Richer Sounds customer for many years and this last experience just confirms and reaffirms my preferred choice for an AV products provider 👍

This is an EXCELLENT home theater TV SYSTEM
21 April 2024

After having this system for six months now and have had extensive time to use it with all the features, for the price, this is one of the better LED televisions you can purchase. I have had quite a few large format televisions over the past 25 years all the way back to the $15k "plasma" TV's when they first came out which was all the rage since it was the first true leap past cathode ray tube televisions. The detail and crispness of the image is very good and these LED televisions just seem to be getting better and better with each passing year and new technology and upgrades. The contrast of color on this TV is very dynamic and it can separate colors very distinctly in a close range which is very difficult to do as a lot of TV's don't have this good of resolution ... MoreAfter having this system for six months now and have had extensive time to use it with all the features, for the price, this is one of the better LED televisions you can purchase. The detail and crispness of the image is very good and these LED televisions just seem to be getting better and better with each passing year and new technology and upgrades. The contrast of color on this TV is very dynamic and it can separate colors very distinctly in a close range which is very difficult to do as a lot of TV's don't have this good of resolution and the colors around the edge lines and in separating moving objects. Not this TV, it can really separate color well and still retain a very good overall image. What I love most about this TV over some other brands is the fact that LG really thought about integration. I would highly recommend you get the accompanying soundbar designed specifically to go with this OLED EVO television series. The rear speaker accessories are also a must. And finally, I recommend the LG blu-ray player to complete the system. Everything integrates beautifully with the Dolby-Atmos system and their proprietary "WOW orchestra" which seemlessly links the entire system together allowing everything to be controlled by the LG TV remote which also controls the sound-bar, rear speakers, and blu-ray player! ONE Remote! It's a fantastic system for the price and I assure you it will have sufficient power to deliver satisfying booms, bangs, thumb's, and bumps on your favorite movie. I have a pretty large basement and it works surprisingly well. Oh, and finally, the fact that you can also easily control the entire system from your smart phone APP is great. The app is free, easy to download, and is simple to use. It really opens up all the features of the surround sound system and you can customize it however you want even allowing you to control the sub woofer, rear surround sound speakers, center channel, overhead firing speakers, and the mid-range/tweeters of the sound bar all independently to your own liking. Overall, it's a well thought out, great sounding, easy to set up, and easy to use system. I would highly recommend this to a person(s), or family looking for a good, easy to set up, and use system for a fair price. If you are looking for the true sound of a 7 to 11 channel separate surround sound hi-fi system, this isn't for you, but I doubt a person who wants that would be looking for something like this system anyway. But for the average person or family looking to "upgrade" their existing LG OLED-EVO TV, YES, I do highly recommend this system, meaning the Sound bar with the extra available LG rear surround speakers that are designed specifically for this system, their proprietary WOW Orchestra which integrates everything perfectly after just a little knowledge and the download of the APP. The download of the APP is optional but you will certainly get more use of the system with the APP. The APP also has an easy slide switch called "Night mode" which turned all the bangs, and booms off so you don't disturb the whole house watching a movie late at night. Lastly, there is an AUTO CALIBRATION feature on the APP which automatically calibrates the entire system specifically to your room based on where you install your speakers! The auto calibration is a really nice feature and simple to use. Simply install your speakers where you want them in your room. Go into the APP and hit "Auto Room Calibration" and it will take about a minute to calibrate the system to your room going through a series of loud tones, beeps, and white noise. It optimizes all the speakers in the entire system including the mains, sub woofer, and surrounds based on where every speaker is in the room and how the sound is created bouncing off of what existing walls, furniture, and obstacles are present. It's not a professional calibration by any means, BUT, it does do something, and it's a really nice feature to have in the system and really does optimize the sound inside the room your system is in. Always do your own research and demo in person when you are looking at a TV, stereo, or blu-ray player. Never just go off of what you see on the internet. It makes a HUGE difference going and seeing the system in person. I was convinced I wanted a different brand system until I went to the dealer and observed that system in person. Once I saw this system in operation, the features, and mainly the system integration of everything working as a system, I changed my mind and got this system and I do not regret it so far. The Television itself has a lot of streaming app ability as any TV does now days. It also has a lot of settings that are customizable in the AUDIO/VIDEO settings including "FILMMAKER MODE" which automatically calibrates the screen to what the filmmaker intended in the movie to look like in the actual movie theater as intended. Sort of like the old "letterbox" mode of years ago (and is still around on some TV's) was supposed to put the movie into the aspect ratio it was shown in the cinema. There is also a mode called AI Voice Pro which increases the voices on a tv show, concert, or movie. You can also put the soundbar into STEREO mode if you want to play CD's or stream music, or watch a concert or TV (and it does sound fantastic in that mode turned up playing some good Pink Floyd!).
