Got this renewed from Olympic wireless it looked brand new at the time. The phone just updated recently a few months back to Android 12 OTA T-Mobile the battery has been amazing over the past 3 years by now i would have expected it to be unusable but I still to this day get consistently 4 hours screen on time. It's still plenty fast for my needs but I can start to feel it's age it's slightly less snappy than 3 years ago but as long as you are not used to the latest and greatest its probably not noticeable. The only issue I've had is that the phone at times will seem to go into some sort of deep energy saving mode although not activated it still does it but not often when i unlock it it can take a good 5-10 seconds to wakeup screen on and usable it's some kind of a ... MoreGot this renewed from Olympic wireless it looked brand new at the time. No need to spend $1k+ on a new phone just buy last year's flagship renewed at a steep discount squeeze 3 years out of it and repeat. This phone has cost me less than $100 per year of ownership excellent price to time ratio.

Decent battery, incredible sound quality. Beats the pants off my old Samsung S7 Edge.

I'm updating this review. I know the ThinQ is "obsolete" now, but I have to say, this was the BEST smart phone I've ever owned. Not only do I still use it as a multimedia player when travelling, but I have several pretty fast games on it, too. The real reason I bothered to update is, this phone was already "new old stock" when I bought it in 2021. The battery STILL holds a charge for as long as my 2022 Samsung, probably a bit longer, even when streaming movies. In fact, the only thing that kills it fast is the screen mirroring feature. This phone is phenomenal. I will be buying another LG as my next phone. Period. The sound quality through a good set of headphones is EXCELLENT. The sound quality through Bluetooth is also better than any device I've previously owned. ... MoreI'm updating this review. It even offers an equalizer and fine-tuning via the 32bit DAC. Six stars for sound quality via wired headphones. Five stars via Bluetooth.

Lots of space, some issues with battery

I really enjoyed this phone, it had a lot of good storage. Usual issues with bloatware and the phone OS supposedly taking 32 GBs to run (ludicrous), but there was enough space that it wasn't an issue that ever came up. However, about 3 years in, the battery would only hold a charge through 6 hours or so without battery saving mode, despite my detailed care with restarts and battery health, and as I am writing this it died suddenly. It was on 25% and it suddenly shut off like a light and refuses to charge. I've already checked out the charger, cleaned out the port, everything I can without prying the screen off myself and looking at its insides. Still shines with quality!

I updated to the G8 ThinQ from the G4 which was a brilliant phone, and after a few weeks of use I'm happy to report the G8 delivers the same great features, all improved, and more. A slightly narrower but longer display gives more viewing area and fits more comfortably in hand. It's easily readable in direct sunlight, with fabulous color rendition, and super slick to the touch for smooth gesturing. Taking advantage of the larger screen, the Gallery app now includes a scrollable album selector next to the contents, eliminating the need to go back to select a different album. Audio quality on the G4 was astounding, but LG found a way to improve it with 3D Surround and HiFi DAC. Taking advantage of the larger screen, the Gallery app now includes a scrollable album selector next to the contents, eliminating the need to go back to select a different album. Audio quality on the G4 was astounding, but LG found a way to improve it with 3D Surround and HiFi DAC. Music and movies sound unbelievably good, and voices on the FM radio player sound like you're right there in the studio. Watch out for when a call comes in with 3D Surround enabled, it sounds like others nearby can hear the caller's voice. This is quickly adjusted in the pull-down notification where many features can be instantly toggled. LG's look-and-feel has everything close by. With the Always-On screen lock, the battery level and notification icons can be swiped left to reveal toggles for the flashlight, sound mode, Bluetooth, and camera, or right you reveal media playback controls, all without unlocking and swiping down. Fingerprint unlock is super efficient and has never let me down, and it's located right where my finger looked for the G4's power/unlock button. Side buttons take a little getting used to coming from the G4. The volume buttons require a stretch to reach, and the Goodie Assistant is frequently summoned incuriously. Staying in the LG family made for a smooth migration of my apps and settings, with only 1 glaring exception. My texting threads could not find their way into the now-default Google Messages app, from the prior native LG Messages app. My contacts synced from Google. of course, but not being able to find something I knew I had sent someone left me wanting.

[Rewarded Review] Better than lots of phones today!
15 October 2022

I bought this around a month ago and its the best purchase ive made. The screen on this phone is incredible and very crisp, especially with the stunning 1440p resolution. Love watching videos on this with 2k because this just looks so much better than most phones now, since tge majority have 1080p screens. Hand ID is by far my foavorite unlock method because of how simple and easy it is to use and setup, and how convenient it is at times. I havr bought multiple LG Phones and loved every single one of them. Face ID is also a really nice feature that not many androids jave today, due to them lacking the required sensors. The cameras shoot really nice and vibrant photos and I love the fact that this phone has both manual camera and manual video modes, just adds to the ... MoreI bought this around a month ago and its the best purchase ive made. Even in 2022, this phone is still rock solid and still runs games really well with minimal issues. I used wired headphones on the quad dac and the quality that I get on music is just amazing. I'm hoping my g8 will last a few more years before I need to buy a new one.
