I had read reviews about the noisy fan in this fridge but thought the reviewers were just being a bit sensitive. Surely a German designed product would have quality engineering. Big mistake. There is an internal fan that runs non-stop, it sounds like someone has parked a truck outside your house and left it idling 24hrs a day.If you put this fridge in a family room to display your wines it becomes very annoying, even with a tv on, there is always that 'idling truck' in the background. The fridge is best suited to a rumpus room or the garage with the lawn mower and chainsaw. The internal light is useless, you can see there are bottles in the fridge but for reading labels it is inadequate. For the rest it lives up to the promise. It keeps even temperature, the refrigeration is very quite, but you wouldn't know.Sadly, a potentially excellent product ruined by an irritating cheap noisy fan.

I bought this wine cabinet for my husband's 50th birthday. He LOVES it! It ticks all the boxes as far as UV protection, low vibration and temperature control for storing both red and white wines at their recommended temperature. It fits perfectly under our kitchen bench top and the door was easily converted to our preferred side for the room.Time will tell how well it ages a good red!

Very noisy when first turned on but has settled into a quieter mode of operation. The guys who delivered it had no idea how to install it. They expected to unpack and plug in . I don’t think leveling machines is in their remit. Despite that I am very happy with the wine fridge and am busy stocking it with some favorites.

There is a constant harmonic noise being produced from the fan. I have contacted Liebherr customer support and sent them a recording of the fan noise. The response was that the fan noise is normal. If this is the case then there is a design issue or poor quality components installed, of which I wouldn't expect for a product at this price point. If it wasn't for the noisy fan this product would receive a much better rating. I am currently waiting for a warranty resolution. Other reviews indicate noisy fan issues.
We recently purchases this wine fridge because of the size and positive reviews. We are very happy with the size and the low noise level of this fridge. Changing the door from RH side to LH side was a pain, because a screw hole was missing from the factory (RH lower hinge has 4 screws, whereas only 3 holes were on the LH side), and the LH upper hinge hole was overlapped and would not let the upper hinge pin go in! So first good impressions somewhat tarnished by some lack of detail from the factory in Europe.
Excellent Malaysian build. Operating Instruction manual supplied reads very poorly. The German to EN translation is inaccurate. No information on how/ when to run the Ventilation fan. The door lock is clunky. The control panel is plastic, the buttons are flimsy and the lighting is poor. An upgrade is over due. But the engineering seems fine, the internal temp seems stable. No indication of humidity levels. Good quality appliance, but improvements are over due.
Cons: Very noisy for wine cellar (when fan/compressor kick in, runs at ~45dB).Pros: Attractive, good size with ample storage space and adjustable shelving. Seems to be efficient with respect to maintaining a reasonable temperature range. Also, good warranty period (three years standard, five years extended).More details: In the evenings, the wine cellar can be heard running (at 45-48 dB), even in a different room. We’ve had another Liebherr (Vinothek model, made in Austria) for over ten years, and it is quiet (30-35 dB) and hasn't skipped a beat in the time we've had it. I note that the model under review was made in Malaysia. With the cellar set to 11°C and the unit half-full, the temperature fluctuation is around +/– 1.5°C – 2.0°C, so that seems reasonable. ... MoreCons: Very noisy for wine cellar (when fan/compressor kick in, runs at ~45dB).Pros: Attractive, good size with ample storage space and adjustable shelving. The compressor seems to kick in for ~3 minutes every 25 minutes or so. Probably less frequently now that the weather is cooler. Initial follow-up with Liebherr was good, but then not much communication.
Looking at the product, listening to it and opening the door gives you that comforting and exciting feeling of understated quality. The light switches on silently when opening the door producing a warm ambience through the tinted glass. The wines are beautifully cooled - mine is set to 15 degrees Celsius for my reds. The unit is very quiet and very competent in what is designed to achieve.
