Great for everyday supplementation. There are other methyl folate formulations available which use the more effective glucosamine salt derivative. This contains calcium salt which is not as effective if using for medical reasons like boosting red blood cell production. This formulation however did work synergistically with methyl B-12 cyanocobalamin to dramatically reduce my homocysteine levels over several weeks. Life Extortion has downgraded their methyl folate product and no longer offers the glucosamine salt variety, but this one is less expensive and will still provide benefit imho.

Life Extension's Optimized Folate is a high-quality form of folate and it comes in a small, uncoated tablet that is easy to quickly swallow with water or to allow to dissolve in the mouth. It's also fairly easy to split in half, if desired. There's really no taste when dissolved, just a chalky texture that's easily rinsed and swallowed. The packaging is good; the bottle is easy to open and close and it's a clear cobalt color that shields the tablets from light.
Start slow with this one and take some time the next day to decide how you feel before you take another. This stuff can be rocket fuel for some. I personally take a quarter of a tab at a time and try to notice how I feel later. If I am easily agitated and have difficulties going to sleep I wait for the next dose. How long? A day or two until all has come back to normal. Worst thing you can do is blindly take a full tab once a day and it courses over stimulation and anxiety and then just keep on taking more daily. Nice and slow is key.
i have been supplementing in-between my vyvanse dosage in the morning, taking breaks here and there or trying to take it ot later in the day. i tried a different brand of this, but it was a lower dosage and also had b6 supplement in it. THIS brand is by far the greatest i have ever taken! it's easy to swallow, fairly priced, and the quantity is great! i went almost all morning without taking my vyvanse because this worked so well! i also take rhodiola and bacopa with it in the mornings, and i have found that this stack helps my mind to connect dots much easier! it doesn't have any weird side-effects and doesn't make me feel icky. i am very impressed!!
