Bought these Zinc Lozenges for my Covid/Cold/Flu kit. Zinc has been shown to help boost the immune system, providing protection from diseases and viral infections. The rhinovirus, which causes most colds, exists mainly in the upper throat and nasal passages, and using zinc lozenges may help keep it from attaching to the mucus membranes, and also keep the virus from spreading and multiplying. Taking zinc lozenges as soon as you begin to experience cold symptoms can make the duration of your cold about a day shorter and your symptoms less severe. Although I would prefer a lozenge without sugar and artificial sweeteners as ingredients, I understand they help to cover up the bad taste.

Great product. Taste is light and simple, and not a lot of zinc aftertaste. They're big - about the size of 3 stacked zinc tablets made by other companies. It's big so it's released over the proper amount of time. Takes me aboit 20 minutes to fully dissolve it. I use these a few days a week to supplement.

When winter was coming on I woke up one morning with a cold and a sore throat. I had bought these before winter thinking I might need them. Turns out I did need them so for several evenings before going to bed I took one of these lozenges and when I woke up in the morning my throat felt a lot better and I only had a slight cold that lasted for a few days. I feel it had help me along with the vit. C. It did have a slight metallic taste for me.
Yes, these are BIG & take as they say . maybe 20 minutes to dissolve, but I don't mind. They are a good after dinner (or any meal) mint! Think of it as dessert w/very little calories. I like them as they are said to be absorbed better than the smaller lozenges they & others sell & likely better than one's you swallow. Only thing I dont like is that each lozenge has 1 tsp sugar!
As a Zinc devotee, I take these lozenges as an extra on-the-go boost to my regular zinc capsule morning routine. The lozenges are easy to take when in a hurry, or take with you when you may not have water to swallow a capsule. The flavor is fine--not too sweet to become addicted and not yucky enough for you to avoid. I try to avoid artificial sweeteners of any kind. There is another flavor of the zinc lozenges, which I'd actually prefer, but if I recall correctly, there is an artificial sweetener in it so I never tried it. I wish they'd eliminate that unnecessary ingredient.
The tablets are small, round, & dissolve quickly on the tongue. They are tart tasting & have a pleasant flavor.I am immunocompromised with several respiratory dis-eases so I like to take supplements that help boost my immune system. Zinc is highly recommended for colds, sore throats, & viruses.I was expecting a REAL LOZENGE but these are just small tablets.I'm glad the tablets are 18mg/each. One to three tablets ought to be sufficient to dissolve in your mouth to help boost your zinc intake.
I've used one of these Life Extension zinc lozenges every time I've visited a crowded place or used public transport since April 2020.Zinc acetate has the unique ability to deliver antiviral zinc ions throughout the nose and throat. It takes around half an hour to dissolve one of these slowly in the mouth. It's important to let it fully dissolve and not chew it up. They're very well formulated not to be crumbly and unlike some lozenges they don't contain any substances that bind with the zinc. These are a quality product. They're not overly sweet or particularly minty, they have just a hint of both those tastes.
I was surprised, they are so small! But I like it, the small size of the lozenges makes them easy to eat. The flavor is also surprisingly quite tasty. I like the citrus taste and it's almost like candy. Makes a nice change from huge tablets.I take this when I have acne to help them go down faster. Zinc is also great for keeping up the immune system, so I give some to my family as well.Nice packaging as always from this brand. Despite being more expensive, I think their products are good quality, so I am willing to buy them over cheaper brands.
My bottle of citus orange flavored Life Extension zinc lozenges sweetned with xlitol ran out, so I ordered enhanced version without looking at the label. Big clunky awful tastinig with dextrose [sugar] as second ingredient. My bad for trusting this brand. One in the mouth and bottle in the trash.
