Lifespan WalkingPad C2 Compact Folding Treadmill Black

I have not had a good experience with my WalkingPad, due to poor quality of the hardware. It seems like it was poorly manufactured.The remote that came with it never worked, so I can only use the WalkingPad with the app. This is not my preference both for privacy reasons and because I’d like for guests staying at my apartment to be able to use it as well. I contacted the company and they asked me to send a detailed video showing how I put a new battery into the remote and showing how I operate it to make sure it wasn’t user error. When they agreed I was doing everything right, they sent me a new remote. This new one doesn’t work either, so now they’re telling me it’s an issue with a defective control board, so they’re going to send me a new remote and control board and instructional video which I’ll have to install myself (by opening up the machine using various tools, etc).This will not be the first time I’ve had to open it up! Within 3 months of purchasing it, a socket broke and fell into the machine and I couldn’t pull it out. They sent me a new socket with instructions for opening up the treadmill and replacing it, which required unscrewing various screws and unplugging various cables inside the machine. Once inside, there was more evidence of poor manufacturing: pieces of masking tape and zip ties holding things in place, and glue residue. The repair worked, but now it looks like I might have to open it up again to replace the control board, unless the company will give me a refund (they previously indicated they wouldn’t because I’m past that period).I would not buy this again. When it works, it works well, but I’ve had too many issues in a short amount of time. And to date, I haven’t been able to use the remote, in spite of a lot of troubleshooting.

Easy set up to get your steps up

It works great.The walking pad has two functions, manual and automatic. Manual keeps the speed consistent, automatic is supposed to be more attuned to your walking rhythm and aligns to where your footfall is on the device, but for me it was a bit too inconsistent with the speed. I tend to try to stay at the front of the walking pad while working which kept pushing me faster than I could maintain while working. Potentially a great mode for more passive activity.While the initial starting beeps are quite loud, the belt itself is relatively quiet. I am a heavy walker so I can hear my own footfalls but it's not obnoxious.The overall belt size is great even for those with longer stride. The fact that it doesn't have any hydraulic mechanisms keeps it light enough to move, and the wheels make repositioning and transport really easy. But the fact that it easily folds in half while still feeling durable and supportive is what won me over!The LED display can count steps up to 10000 and then it starts over, which to me is perfect. It will continue to track your steps, distance and time with surprising accuracy. Also, it just looks great!Overall an incredible purchase for the price.

Easy to use

Another reviewer was unsure the correct version was sent to them. I bought the white one to make sure (the previous version, as far as I can tell, only came in black). White was the only other color available at the time I ordered.I have only used the manual mode since it's just simpler to press a button to go faster or slower vs knowing where to step.I use it with my stand-up desk. It's easy to use when using the computer (though, I'm usually going at a slower rate: 3 kph or so).I looked at the app, but, ugh, lots of bad reviews and it works without the app, so I never downloaded it.The readout is large and easy to read.The door where you plug in the power cord is not easy to open, I use a metal nail file (which happens to sit by my desk all the time) to help ... MoreAnother reviewer was unsure the correct version was sent to them. Not sure if it's just me or if someone with different fingers and/or fingernails could open it easily without help. I keep the power cord plugged into the wall all the time (it has a wall switch) instead of having the cord plugged into the treadmill.One thing that concerns me is when it's folded up, the track always has a "bloop" on the outside, it just seems like this fold (with a bit -the bloop- on the outside) would cause an issue with the track? Maybe not since it's random where the track ends up each time. I've had it for a couple of months now and use it most days and haven't noticed any issues.It folds and unfolds easily.It rolls easily, though, it does show in the photos the treadmill being stored in a way where you'd have to roll it sideways, but there aren't wheels to roll it sideways, so not sure if sideways pushing is easy without wheels. I store it at the back of the room, not under anything, so not a consideration for me, which also means I haven't tried to push it sideways under a couch, so not sure if it would be easy.I use it on a carpeted floor (wall to wall, not a rug).I would definitely recommend this treadmill for light workouts.

Great for work-from-home setups!

After using this for almost a full month, my review is still 5-stars. I am so happy I purchased this. I have yet to need to lubricate it, but am keeping an ear out for when it starts to sound weird. I use a noise-canceling headset with a microphone for work, and my coworkers most of the time can't tell I'm using it. I've walked during multiple meetings! If you feel antsy working at home, I really do recommend this is you can bare the price point. It is high, but I usually see coupons for $50-$60, but it is well worth the money. Highly, highly recommend!I just received this today and have already done a 3 mile walk while doing my typical work day. It feels like it's worth it's price point, it's feels sturdy but folded up it's easy to wheel around, and the folding isn't a gimmick. Combined with a fitness watch, this is going to be a game changer for me. It will not get above 3.75mph, but since I only want to use this to walk while I'm working, this is perfect!

One of My Best Decisions

I've been working from home since the start of the pandemic and have no office to return to for the foreseeable future. As someone who used to walk a fair amount to/during/from work, this lack of movement over the past few years has not been kind to my body.This has been a huge quality of life increase for WFH (I actually prefer an office, but only if the commute is easy). It's a good supplement to regular exercise. My heart rate isn't racing at at 1.5-2 mph, but it is a comfortable speed to get some movement in during a meeting or while reading/watching content. However, if you are using it as part of your workstation, I recommend getting a non-static mat, wiping the belt with a dryer sheet, and plugging it directly into an outlet (no surge protector) to avoid getting static shocked.So why only four stars though? This took a lot of trial and error to calibrate the belt. Also, sometimes the speed will reset while I'm adjusting it when I first turn it on. It's only happened sometimes within the first seconds of starting, and thankfully never when I'm deep into it. And, if I don't switch it off completely, it will randomly beep despite not being touched.

Perfect for making those daily 10,000 steps

It does say that the device needs to be "unlocked" when you first get it, which either means you walk 1 km on it or you download their app. I chose the former and it works fine. If you don't "unlock," you can't go past 2.9 km/hr on the treadmill. The treadmill also comes with a remote -- DO NOT LOSE THE REMOTE OR ELSE IT WILL NOT WORK. The remote comes with a wrist strap and you can start/stop the treadmill and change the speed -- pretty self explanatory.I still store the treadmill under my desk and while it's easy to move on flat surfaces due to the front wheels, I found it to be quite heavy taking it up the stairs in my home. The product description lists this treadmill at 55 lbs, so I guess I just don't have any upper body strength, but keep the weight in mind if you're planning on moving this device from room to room. It folds for easy storage and fits well under my desk. I have heard of people complaining of the belt shredding on similar treadmills, but the instructions do say to center the belt prior to starting the treadmill (open the treadmill and adjust the belt from side to side until it is centered). The noise isn't completely silent, but I feel that I only have to increase the volume of my TV 1-2 levels while using it, so I don't think it's that loud to me. I also only use this product for walking, so running will most likely cause more noise.Overall, I am happy with this purchase and would recommend it for someone looking to increase their steps or exercise at their desk (if you're coordinated enough).3 MONTH UPDATE: The belt slides a little more easily to the sides than when I first got the treadmill, but it's easy to readjust and I have not had any shredding along the sides. I have also noticed some small bubbles forming on the treadmill within a plastic layer underneath the belt, but I have not otherwise noticed a change in performance. Overall, I'm still happy with it and am pleased that it has kept up over the last three months.

Perfect for my small office

I have been using this for 6 months, but I don't use it every day. It is perfect for my small, narrow office. It fits folded under my credenza and is easy to unfold and use. I have had no issues with it whatsoever. The treadmill itself is not very noisy - my steps on the treadmill are probably too loud for a quiet environment, but I close the door and use it at lunchtime. The remote works well and the speed is easy to control.I don't rely too heavily on the stats readings (steps, distance, calories) so I'm not really sure if they are accurate - it's not a concern for me...I just want to get some walking time. I only used the app when setting it up - it seemed fairly standard for Chinese-made products.
