I love Lifestraw, I love clean water and I love that every purchase helps a child get clean water. I read about this bottle prior to purchase and I followed recommendations in hope I wouldn't have any issues with the mouthpiece leaking. No luck so far😲. I am frustrated to say the least. It's not a leak like from the cap it's in the mouthpiece, it spews out! I was going to the hospital to visit a friend and this thing wouldn't stop, finally I put the top back on it, I was embarrassed and wet. So, I will try and work this out and I will give another review. I knew this might happen, that's why I took extra effort, to no avail, as of now.

The instructions mention to burp the bottle before flying as it may overflow in flight. However this became a everyday thing for me. Leaking issue makes it a no go

Hi. I bought 3 of these and they all exhibit the same issue. Tech support tells me it's because of the design. When the temperature changes water comes out of the mouthpiece no matter how high the water is in the bottle. It's leaked on me, at my desk, in my car. The only fix is to loosen the cap to release pressure? Absurd response from tech support. I bought 3 and wish I had only bought one and not given them as gifts at Christmas. This will be my last LifeStraw purchase.

Lost our favorite bottle
7 April 2024

We bought the Life Straws for a trip where we were advised to drink only bottled water. At first, since they are expensive, we reconsidered our purchase wondering if we’d ever use those bottles again with our normal hiking, biking, skiing activities. It took a bit to get used to the draw needed to get water since we are so accustomed to using water bottles without straws. We soon learned the value of the LifeStraw bottles and the reassurance we had drinking water from the airports and hotels. And, we reduced our impact on the environment by using our own bottle instead of multiple plastic bottles daily. We now recommend the LifeStraw bottle to friends even though we accidentally left ours sitting on a hotel check-in counter in Thailand.

Ridiculous leaky bottle
1 July 2024

I love the fact this filter bottle will remove micro plastics from drinking water. What I do not like is the leaking whenever there is a pressure change. If I have the bottle in my and the car gets warm, as in summer driving, the water will leak out of there mouthpiece. Then I have a puddle in my cup holder or it drips all over my lap if I try to drink when driving. Or, putting the bottle in my day pack's bottle holder, then driving an hour only to find water all over my seat when I remove the screw on cap. Or vice versa, take it out of the fridge and later find it leaking all over my office desk. Basically anytime there is a temp change (pressure change) the bottle leaks if the screw cap is off. I would return this bottle if I could find another filter bottle for micro plastics.

Safe, great tasting water, easy to use
20 July 2024

The Go Series 650ml Water Bottle with Filter is excellent. Very easy to use. No need to back flush, just gently blow air back through the filter. The filter doesn't quite reach the bottom of the bottle, hence there is always a small bit of water left that cannot be drawn up through the straw, but this is the only (quite trivial) negative. The water from the filter tastes great. The bottle is just the right size, making it easy to carry every day.

Similar to the draw of a milkshake
2 August 2024

Definitely not the quality I expected. A bit like sucking a milkshake through a thin straw. If you are hydrating while the bottle is still mostly full and you set it down, water will continue to pull through the straw and it’ll puddle under your bottle and around the mouthpiece. This is a solid no-go from me. On top of that, you can’t hold much water in this in the first place. So of you’re planning on using it for hiking, be prepared to find water often. I bought two of these and all they are going to do is collect dust.

Smaller bottle better for travel.
22 October 2024

I bought two of the smaller Lifestraw bottles to take on a two week trip where we were playing 'planes, trains and automobiles' so to speak, plus ferries. The bottles were easier to carry than the larger ones we had and we had plenty of opportunities to fill them. Trips back a couple years we got plastic water bottles as we traveled, tried to recycle but that option isn't always available. This kept us away from that and (I think) more microplastics in the water. We always had a drink of water for a hike or ? handy.

Water anywhere!
22 June 2024

Just took a trip to Switzerland and this bottle went with! No fear for the water quality in Switzerland per family that lives there (and watched the people drink out of fountains in several cantons we visited) but took it along to be safe. I honestly think the need for the filtration was more in the airports where we made connections. Water tastes very clean, no chemical or dirt tastes when drinking from this bottle. I have become addicted to flavorless H2O!Use it all the time now. I’ll have to buy a second one…

[Rewarded Review] Many more uses than anticipated!
1 June 2023

When I first got this bottle I was thinking I would only use it when I was camping and backpacking. But actually I found it much more useful in my everyday life then initially expected. In fact, it has replaced my Nalgene (that's saying a lot).We live on a mountain well and our water has a distinct mineral well taste that is completely eliminated by use of this water bottle. I've started keeping it by my bed so that I don't have to go downstairs to our filtered water station in the middle of the night when I run out of water. I also now bring it on all my travels to eliminate microplastics and whatever other undesirables lurk in airport and city water. And it goes on hikes (see photo). So easy to fill. The straw does take some time to loosen up so that you can get water out of the water bottle easily, but stick with it and it's worth it.I love the design on the bottle. It fits in most cup holders (!), and the top is comfortable to carry by hand for shorter hikes. Anyway, in a seemingly more and more polluted world, this bottle is great. I'm going to buy one for each member of the family. 4 stars for the initial difficulty in sucking through the straw.
