I purchased this as an alternative drinking vessel to use along with a second LifeStraw water bottle, and so far it's doing what it's intended to do. I enjoy drinking water at brain-freezing temperature, which usually means a lot of ice. Unfortunately, this particular item doesn't allow for as much ice as I'd like because of the space required for the filter.I can't complain, as the insulation is outstanding: the bottle doesn't sweat, and ice is still present at the end of a twelve-hour work shift. If there were some way to clip this can on my belt, I'd do that although I suspect the sheer weight of the water bottle would have unpleasant consequences. Altogether, I'm enjoying this product and would recommend LifeStraw to anyone who asked.

If you're thinking about this bottle, it's definitely worth the money, and has what it takes to be a daily companion.

I have a life straw pitcher in my home and I love it. I decided to give this bottle a try because I love their water filters. I also love how you can have access to filtered water wherever and whenever. However, I think the water bottle design could use some improvement. I do not like how the handle(and mouth cover) comes off. I wish it was attached to something and not completely removable. Also, it’s hard to open. If you’ve ever let your water bottle sit in a hot car you know how hard it can be to open a water bottle after. I bought 5 of them different colors with the protective base for our vacation to Florida and a cruise. We were very happy, we attached large carabiners to them to attach to our bags if we didn't want to hold the handle. We used them in the countries our cruise stopped at and we felt safe filling them up. We even took them to the parks in Florida for water in the heat. They work great and made us feel safe. They don't seem to change the taste of the water though, which was unfortunate as we have great tasting water at home and it is difficult to want to drink water elsewhere, but still made us feel safe with filling up where we normally would never drink from. Filtered through the LifeStraw, it still tastes like pool water (since it goes from the straw to mouth, I’m unsure of the smell). The design of the bottle isn’t great, especially for anyone who struggles with motor function. Just opening the bottle was a challenge. The screw top loop & a really thin area to grip on the nozzle assures that anyone with joint pain/instability cannot open it. It’s also difficult to suck through the straw. On top of this, the bottle is just unwieldy. It should probably be skinnier than it is currently, because I cannot even hold it with one hand, unless by the loop.The design of the bottle is so unfriendly to disabled folks that I have to go back to using a hydroflask because I genuinely cannot open the bottle without help- and i only have a little arthritis and small hands as a 27yo.
