Setup was a relative breeze as the magnets really make the difference in helping you line up each piece. You do need to plan out where the cable is going to wind up though before sticking everything to the wall. As with most LIFX products, the light is crazy bright. We keep ours at 25-35% most of the time using it as an accent to a large picture frame above the couch. Decent value if you get it on sale too, and the HomeKit integration is awesome.

I have SmartThings, Philips Hue, Nanoleaf, Google Homes, and smart displays, of all the smart home tech I've ever dealt with this is the worst. As stated in the headline, the light itself is beautiful, really bright, themes are great. That's it for the good. For the bad, setup was difficult compared to Hue. Once installed the app response was consistently spotty. Since installing this I have been having problems with my network where it was fine before. I looked online for support, even gave it a dedicated MAC address. still have had nothing but problems. After 3 days testing, workarounds, resets, I have given it all I'm willing to give. Returning tomorrow!! For smart Wall Lighting I'll be sticking to Nanoleaf and Philips Hue. Buyer beware on Life!!

I emailed customer service (that’s the only way to get ahold of them) and they made the communication so confusing that it wasn’t even worth the trouble. This item is insanely over priced for the POS it is. Rip off. Buy a strip light at Walmart for $15 and put a piece of plastic over it. That would work better then this overpriced rip off.

It'll work but the amount of difficulty and connectivity issues you're going to experience with their app set up is honestly not worth it. Customer service is non existent and you're basically left on your own to figure it out. It'll connect to your homekit but you can basically just toggle through basic light colors - the cool functionalities would be on the Lifx app that just seems to reject the existence of my light beam l o l. Overall, poor experience for the price and honestly this is not hard. It would be an easy set up but their software just SUCKS. 2 stars because at least the light works, but unfortunately thats it.
Weak magnet connections between the light bars make this product very difficult to assemble. More difficult than it's worth. Weak tape and velcro mounting system is absolutely ridiculous. For $160 they could at least include some mounting brackets!! This particular product is s@#t!
First, these cost way too much. The magnetic ends aren’t very strong and at the slightest touch become disconnected. The app is convoluted and takes about 15 minutes to pair to your phone or network. The set we purchased just becomes unresponsive and blinks in and off cycling through all the color choices. Very annoying. Will be returning and exchanging for the Phillips brand.
I've had this installed and in use for a few weeks now. The light works exactly as it's supposed to. Plenty of customizable options and movement patterns. The app allows easy control of multiple lights and areas. At first I thought the app was a bit off,but realized that it just needs a moment to sync with everything. All in all,I would have to say this is a better option that the Phillips system as it doesn't need a hub to connect too. Also has a wider product variety than the Nano Leaf brand. If you're looking for multiple lighting options and multiple lights on one system in multiple rooms,this is the brand to go with.
