I am guessing it is the capacitor that's gone bad but I've tried to contact the manufacture but they haven't responded.If they do finally contact me and make this right I'll give an update but I'm pretty disappointed that the unit has begun to have issues just outside of the 1 year warranty and I'm concerned they wouldn't respond even if it was under warranty.

The manufacture did finally respond to my email and sent me free of charge a capacitor. Upon opening up the case you could see that the original capacitor was completely burnt up (melted plastic and black with soot.Happy again that it is working. Hope this capacitor is better than the original one. :)All an all the grinder seems ok to good.
