I've been upgrading to a Giga LAN as I replaced legacy equipment. When I upgraded to TWC 300Mbps service my Linksys Ethernet switches were the only link keeping me at 100Mbps. A quick order from Newegg and two days later the LAN is rocking at 300Mbps. Woo Hoo! Before you call support complaining about 100Mbps on your 'up to (some higher number)' service, check that your LAN supports Giga Ethernet end to end.

Pros: Bought an LGS105 about a year ago and have been very satisfied with the quality and performance. I particularly liked the fact that the sockets were on the back of the unit and the indicator lights (power, link) were on the front. This made it ideal to place on a desktop. It was a nicely designed product.Cons: The LGS105 I ordered a few weeks back and am now writing about is disappointing in that Cisco have redesigned the box so that the indicator lights and the sockets are adjacent to each other on the front of the unit, but the power connector is on the back of the unit. Now a rubbish design.
Pros: I have 2 already running for 3 years straight, so are stable. Also running trunk lines in and multiple VAN'S out on each switch, they do what I need and not to bad to setup.Cons: Not seen any updates so far. Not sure what the attack vector on a level 2 device is but still would like to see updates.
I've decided to go with this network hub because I own a router of the same brand, and the price was similarly low compared to other similar products. I have my PS4 Pro and work laptop connected to the hub and so far I have had no problems. I just had to plug in the cables and that was it. The hub is well build in metal and it is small. It has a very bright light, so keep that in mind if you'd like to keep it in your bedroom, but you can always turn it off during the night.
I used this Linksys switch to replace an old 5 port Dlink switch which was only 10/100. Compared to the old Dlink, this new Linksys is 10/100/1000, in a smaller and more robust metal case. It draws less current and it's cheaper than the older Dlink was when originally purchased. When the Dlink was purchased (about 6 or 8 years ago) it was state of the art, but this newer Linksys just blows it out of the water.
