Lion Brand Mandala Ombre Yarn - Mantra
Mandala fans rejoice! Lion Brand is adding yet another cake to the Mandala collection. Mandala Ombré's color changes are more subtle than the original: each color gradually blends into the other in both tonal and multi-coloured versions. The printing technique allows for some of the cream yarn base to show through, creating a hand-dyed, artisanal effect. Mandala Ombré is slightly thicker than the original, spun with multiple plies of premium acrylic, which give it the look and feel of merino at a fraction of the cost.

Very nice yarn and in my opinion is well worth the $. I had a few times when the yarn split but it was my fault and not that of the yarn. Once I switched to an online hook it didn't happen again. This yarn is so soft and the colors are just so beautiful. I'll definitely be buying this yarn again. To me is seems slightly thinner than the usual worsted weight yarn even though it's stated that it's supposed to be slightly thicker but since this is the first time I've used it I can't comment either way. I don't think you would be disappointed with this yarn. It reminds me a little of cotton yarn.

I’ve tried this yarn a few times. Each time I’m hopeful, and each time I’m disappointed.Don’t get me wrong, this yarn is incredibly soft and squishy, and the colours are gorgeous! However, the cakes are a nightmare. They’re not wound particularly well - probably something to do with the tension - and so as soon as either the label is removed or you get a centre pull underway, the cake disintegrates if you move it at all. I thought I just had bad luck but it’s kept happening, and the latest one just took me three hours to untangle, even once I’d cut out the worst of the knots. An absolute nightmare, and I don’t think I’m ever going to purchase this damned yarn again!

Love this product. This is a warm, soft acrylic yarn that doesn't feel sticky and overheat you when made into a garment. Even after many washes the yarn does not start to shed or loose its shape.

I bought 6 cakes of this yarn in the color Joy. I really love the colors and the softness of the yarn. It's lovely! However, there are flaw with these cakes. In the 6 cakes I bought, four of them had knots which then threw off the sequencing of the colors requiring me to cut apart the yarn. And I had to buy extra yarn because I was missing too many of one specific color, which would have caused issues with the striping of the sweater I am making.
I picked up a free pattern for a circular scarf in store, together with this yarn and the appropriate crochet hook. I haven’t done any crochet work for over 40 years, and this project is proving to be a perfect re-start. The colour blend of blues/greens is interesting to work with, and as I am just doing plain trebles rather than the pattern, it still looks really pretty and interesting. The yarn is soft, and I have not encountered any joins so far - I am about half way through. I would buy this again; it’s good quality and very reasonably priced.
I bought this yarn (in the Harmony colorway) last weekend for a hexagon cardigan. It's so soft and pretty. I had one small tangle at the beginning of my skein (I center pull), but it's been smooth sailing since then. It doesn't fuzz (like regular Mandala yarns tend to do). It's a weight 4 yarn, but on the thinner side, similar to Pound of Love.I paired the Mandala yarn with Big Twist (in Varsity Navy) for the pictured cardigan.
Ugly in person. Extremely dark and nothing's liked the pictures. I may have been unlucky and received three cakes that have the most horrible dark red in over half of the cake. Wanted to use it for a baby blanket but unfortunately none of my friends are goths.
I enjoy this yarn and have made several projects with it, including small blankets and scarves. It launders very well. I have used all but 3 color ways and love the variegation and pretty colors.
I really like this yarn! It’s very soft so it took some getting used to as I’m more experienced with regular yarn such as red heart but once I got the hang of it I really like it. One issue I have is that the cakes aren’t wound in the same direction so the colors are in the wrong order even though they’re the same dye lot. (See picture one goes blue green orange the other goes orange green blue) Not a huge deal I can just rewind them but a little frustrating. Overall I do really like it!
I used this to make a top for a granddaughter. The shading, without any adjustment, really brought the design front and centre. It knitted up beautifully so I made myself a jumper from the other colourway. Brilliant. Give it a go, be brave.
