I bought several rolls of this yarn for crocheting shawls. The yarn has beautiful colors in gradients. This yarn is weight 3, uniform in thickness throughout its length. (I prefer weight 4, so I worked with 2 strands of weight 3 yarns.)I wasn't sure how much yarn was needed, so I bought extra.In the red-pink colored ombre, the length of yarn in each shade (color) was different. The darkest shade had the longest length, decreasing to the lightest pink which had the shortest length. I wish I had known to expect this as I designed my own pattern for the shawl.

I loved this yarn until I started using different colors for different projects. A crocheted one throw in Chimenera, which was fairly soft and easily worked with an H hook. I then started a repeat of the same with Liger, which is decidedly more stiff and doesn't slide as well using the same hook. I'll probably put this one on the back burner for a while and work on something else. Disappointed. Not happy with Joann online either. Part of my order was cancelled when the price went back up before it was shipped.

Two years ago I started back up with crocheting, which I learned to do when I was ten years old, and dabbled with it for the next sixty years. When I retired, I started crocheting full time, and this is the first blanket I made to get my feet wet again. Simple stitch, used 4 balls of Griffin, and I love this blanket. My skill level is somewhere between beginner and intermediate. Planning on knitting a sweater creating my own design, pattern. Absolutely love this yarn… super soft and squishy. Centaur colorway is gorgeous! Like the acrylic and Superwash wool mix. Will be toasty warm and machine wash, dry… so convenient. What’s not to love?!

I was looking for something that was a rich, bright, in-your-face jewel tone yarn and this missed the mark. In fact I have other yarns from this same brand and I do not like how dull the yarn is. Now what I did love about this yarn was that it is self striping, the striping repeats itself twice and best of all there were no knots in this color way (or the Groot color way) but those were muted/faded-looking as well when compared to the photo. The color way is beautiful if you are looking for muted colors. I wanted to do something bright and happy for the fall with this particular yarn but the colors were drab. The yarn itself is great quality. It is easy to crochet with, super soft and washes nicely so far without any pilling. Also, there were no knots in this particular yarn. I got this yarn in the color way Groot and Hades. The yarn is awesome, the colors I didn’t like because it didn’t look like the photo and that’s why I deducted one star from the rating. Would I recommend it, definitely! But it’s always better to see the yarn in person before blindly buying it and end up not likening it.

I’m really enjoying using this yarn although I’m using it on very large needles. This is due to arthritis, not because it’s the best for the yarn. The loose lacy effect of using such large needles on such a thin yarn is nice for a shawl. It would not be good for a sweater. I think this yarn is probably best for a sweater though, because you have to knit for a long time before you get the color variation. The yarn is predominantly soft although some skeins vary quite a bit. You’ll also find that they do not all begin with the same color so you cannot necessarily predict a pattern if you put the skeins back to back. I would recommend this yarn if you don’t mind doubling, which I often do, just to achieve a thicker affect and more color variation within each row.
this color way had sections that wentnfar too long and then colors id like more of didnt even makenit through one complete round so i was disappointed.a touch more grey and purple would have been nice. had to get an extra ball just to make my project look right with alot of excess ill have to use in a scrap project, also made more tie ons and cut off necessary than I would've liked.ive used other color ways and i feel maybe this one needs to be a bonus bundle size to get the right amounts of color per section.i do feel the bonus bundles work up better but there are several ombre mandala that i adore how they work up.groot is close in the fall colorway feel and works up much nicer. had higher hopes for this
