The only difference is that the Basics inks use a lower pigment concentration than the Proffessional series inks. They are medium viscosity acrylics containing lightfast, artist-quality pigments and come in a wide range of 72 colors. You can use Basics paints on canvas, paper, cardboard, wood, masonry, metal, styrofoam, stone, ceramics and textiles. Use them on their own or combine them with professional materials - if they are made by Liquitex brand, you can mix them with each other without any worries. Basic acrylic paints will be perfect for everyday use, for sketching preliminary ideas, for underpainting before the final coat of paint is applied, and for covering large areas. All Liquitex Basic paints contain the highest quality pigments and go through the same rigorous manufacturing process. In the case of Basics paints, the artist pigments are selected and ground using the latest technology, in the same way as for Soft and Heavy Body acrylics. Before being added to the acrylic emulsion, the pigments are finely ground using ceramic balls to ensure excellent dispersion, great color reproduction, strength, brightness and opacity.
