I use a lot of Posca markers but there are some colors they just don't have so these Liquitex markers are a great addition! This soft, pink color creates beautiful background tones for Urban Sketching.#sweepstakes

I just discovered acrylic pens and love them. Still getting used to them, and these pens do tend to dry out - not completely, you just get these bits of dried acrylic paint on the nibs that you kind of have to wipe off. It's not a huge deal and is to be expected with acrylic paint, after all. Great layering possibilities. The cobalt blue is a beautiful color and in fact, all of the colors I've bought so far are intense and a delight to use. I love that they are slightly transparent with first applications so that you can get cool layering if you want. Or, if I mess up, I use the white or some other color to blot out the mistake and try again! I'll redo a drawing several times, and I love that you can draw AND paint with these! Looking forward to seeing how many ... MoreI just discovered acrylic pens and love them. These Liquitex markers aren't easy to find from other sellers. They come in beautiful, soft colors and they make nice chunky lines. This brand is "juicier" than most Posca markers I've used, which is helpful when laying down backgrounds in my sketchbook.#sweepstakes

I use paint markers on stretched canvas to overlay detailed work on acrylic paintings. Markers in general are not great for evenly covering large surface areas however for small paintings or detail work in a large painting, these markers are my go-to solution. Initially only 3-4 depressions are needed to get the paint flowing. Over-depressing the tip will clog the marker and a new nib will be needed. Shaking the marker occasionally during use helps with smooth application. Stored properly capped and in a horizontal position ensures that it will be ready for immediate use the next time you use it.
I like the control I have with these for details. I wish there was a slightly finer tip but for most things they are good enough. They incorprate well into other acrylic paints with no problems. Right now I have tried 30 colors and plan on adding the rest of the available colors. The only problem I have experienced so far is Burnt Umber seems to clog up the tip but not so bad I have had to replace the tip yet. May be my own fault, I don't know just learning to use them. So far I love them. Just to be honest here... I have no idea how they compare with other similar products because I have not used them. I know there are cheaper ones for sale but I generally enjoy the quality of Liquidtex products.
I paint miniature paintings of houses as client gifts for my real estate agent husband. In past years I have used acrylics and small brushes and it's always a huge chore - paints dry out, lots of color mixing, brushes get clumpy, a big pain. This year I bought a bunch of these markers and my job was SO much easier, the result was much cleaner, brighter and sharper, and each ornament took about half the time. You can blend them on a not-too-porous surface (I use gessoed wood) if you work quickly. The small tips give very sharp lines (although some markers flow faster than others). Great product and has made this particular project significantly more fun.
I'm remodeling my kitchen/great room in a Spanish Colonial style. I painted 6"X6"travertine tiles to go around my fireplace. I found a tile pattern online that I liked, made a template out of mylar, and traced it on the tile. I painted them using 2mm tips and colors Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Black, and a mix of Neutral Gray with a light brown I already had. Then sealed them with a polyurethane matte clear coat and they turned out great. They are going to look so good once installed.
Always happy with my purchases from Blick including replenishing This Liquitex Paint Marker, which I use all the time on my Mixed Medium pieces, High quality and price is great. LOVE these markers. Great Customer service and continuous sale items. Always go here first when I need art or art related supplies. 15 +++ stars from me - a repeat customer.
Really fun markers, a note about the greys: for some reason, neutral grey 8 is super light, right? and neutral 5 is really dark, but neutral 7 isn't quite in between, it's sorta closer to 8. Overall, 8 is a great light, neutral grey, and I wish that 7 were a better in-between grey, so that value studies could come out better. 8, 7, and 5 are the only ones available either from Blick or from the Liquitex website. Still, a good set of greys overall.
I just discovered acrylic paint markers and feel like I've entered a whole new world of possibilities that I want to be in. These markers can be tricky - at least they are for me, because they are acrylic paint after all, so the nibs will dry out if you leave the cap off for a minute, which I do because I lose myself in the process of using them. I'm finding it's a trick, too, to mix the colors because they do dry fast, so you gotta move fast (and keep the caps off! :)) if you wanna mix red and white to make pink. Or, you could just buy a pink marker! But they're $$ so I'm tryna mix ;) They're transparent at first, which I like, and become opaque after only two or three more coats, which I also like. Layering colors is - yep! - tricky, cuz the new layer will wipe ... MoreI just discovered acrylic paint markers and feel like I've entered a whole new world of possibilities that I want to be in. Layering colors is - yep! - tricky, cuz the new layer will wipe off if you go over it too many times. Thick over thin, which is hard to achieve with markers, but it's possible to an extent! Overall, super fun and I love getting ideas out using these markers. I use them to draw out larger paintings that I fill in with acrylic paint, and i use them in my sketchbook. It's amazing, the many ways they can be employed and it's really exciting to be alive at a time when so many options are open to artists! I might also be tryin to use these markers in a way that isn't really true to the nature of acrylic: I like nuance, soft edges, mixing... not a strong suit in the acrylic department and not really how acrylic markers are meant to be used, I think - but I do like challenge and it's fun to both try to get the effects that I want and learn to accept the uses and limitations of a medium and tool that is ultimately best suited to crisp lines, bold colors and marks, and a more... I suppose, print-like, graphic art-like effect.
